Electrical, Plumbing, Asphalt, Excavation and Foundations (can be sub-contracted).
Unfortunately the quality of the roofing job did not hold up resulting in multiple leaks relating to improper flashing placement. Another company had to re-roof the home. In addition, the company bounced a check for the building permit that resulted in us receiving a bad check claim from a collection agency relating to our name being on the building permit. I would not recommend this company relating to poor quality of workmanship and poor finances.

Regarding the storm doors: Neither door will close properly, nor was the trim work finished. Regarding the main entry door: Work not finished. Door latch not reset. No insulation installed. It was placed improperly in the opening. Drywall not finished. Trim work not completed. No effort to do any cosmetic work at the threshold (Carpet repair). All in all, a TOTAL DISASTER. Regarding the retaining wall: Footings inadequate. None of the rest of the work was even attempted! Regarding the painting: Work not completed. The majority of the paint remains in the can. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use MAD Handyman Services for anything. Stay as far away as possible from them. We are headed to court in May, 2012.
Description of Work: Remove two storm doors. Install two new storm doors. Remove main entry door. Install new main entry door. Demo flower bed/garden area retaining wall. Pour concrete footings for new brick retaining wall. Paint storage shed/carport area.

Overall I would not recommend this company.
Description of Work: Initial contact via phone 11-3-11, owner was courteous. Delay in receiving written estimate. The owner stated over the phone on 11-9-11 that estimate would be received 11-11-11 , after numerous phone calls and email messages finally received bid 11-29-11. The work involved re-installing a wooden outdoor sign, the posts had been damaged. The estimate was reasonable. Work started on 12/15/11. The handyman who reinstalled the sign was professional and did a good job. The installation was done but it was too cold to apply stain to the wooden posts. Payment for the project was demanded over the telephone by the business owner although the project had not been completed. This is poor business practice. Payment is usually requested upon completion of the project. The owner stated over the phone that if payment wasn't made that day he would yank the sign out of the ground. I proceeded to write an agreement which was signed by the handyman who installed the sign. The agreement stated that payment would be made in advance, as the owner demanded, and stain would be completed as soon as possible, which was done.

I was taken for 950 dollars the price of installing my gutters!
Description of Work: I hired MAD handy man services to put shingles on my house & garage & put new rain gutters up.I ended up hiring a different company to fix the mess they left me.They came back 3 times to try to get my rain gutters from leaking in the end caps and corners that were leaking on my front step & down spout was installed croocked.They were going to give me a bid on my siding & recover my sunroof but I found a different company to finish my job.It took them over 5 weeks of unanswed phone calls to refund the 500 dollars that they had over charged me.

I received a materials check on August 4, 2011 to begin work on the customer's roof and gutter installation. I payed for and received the permit for doing this job on that same day. The customer wanted seamless gutters, and I explained to him that our company does not have the ability to install seamless gutters without sub-contracting a company to complete the installation for him. He agreed to have regular 5" gutters installed on his home and garage, due to the costs of seamless gutters. This project began on August 8, 2011 and was correctly installed and completed on August 11, 2011. The customer expressed his happiness for the the job, and remitted a final labor check on August 11, 2011. I was contacted by the customer relating to leaking from the seams of his gutters. I explained to him that the manufacturer of the gutter material clearly states that there is no way to prevent gutters from leaking from the seams. This is the reason why "Seamless Gutter" companies are replacing traditional gutters. I re-visited the customer's property several times to attempt to correct the problem to no avail. My secretary made a mistake on his final bill, overcharging him $500. My company works on a "Cash Accrual" basis, which means that we only have money when our customers pay us for labor. I explained to the customer that I was waiting on an invoice from another customer in order to pay him for the accidental overcharge. I never disagreed about the overcharge. He became increasingly agitated and threatened legal action even after several calls to him explaining the issues. It is not normal practice for my company to divulge inappropriate information regarding a customer, but this customer solicited my company to commit insurance fraud. This customer wanted me to provide an falsified invoice for completing a replacement roof for his sunroom, in order for him to get the money from his insurance company. This was refused, because my company is not going to lie. After refusing to provide the invoice, this customer became very angry and ended up leaving a negative comment on our Angie's List profile. I caution my future customers to consider the source of the comment. Thank You!

The job went well overall. I was expecting it to last only about 1 hour, but it took about 3 hours before all was said and done. However, I was charged for the job itself as opposed to an hourly rate and was relieved by that. Both fellas who did the job were very courteous and knowledgeable, and they assured me that if there was ever any problem with the installation, they would stand behind it 100%.
Description of Work: They installed a new storm door and removed the old one.
