I contacted this company in Sept 2013 regarding major tree damage after a record snow storm. I did not hear back from them so I called backed approx two months later to get a update. They indicated they would highlight my previous request. It is now Feb 2014 and I still have not heard back. I understand that they are probably very busy given the damages to trees during the snow storm; however, I find it absolutely unprofessional that they have not even bothered to keep me updated relative to when or if they would address my tree damage.

We contacted Johnson's Tree Service on recommendation from our landscaper to help us remove a hazardous tree from our yard. It took more than two weeks and numerous phone calls back and forth for the company representative to just come out and take a look at the tree that needs to be removed. With full understanding that we contacted the company during their busy season, we felt that our request for service was not handled professionally. First, the office staff did not schedule an appointment for a company rep to come out to our property. Instead, she told us someone would come out and look at the tree and quot;as soon as they could.and quot; After a week with nobody showing up, we called the office again, only to be told much the same. After the third call (a week later), we were told somebody did come out to look at the tree, but did not find any hazardous trees at our address. As there is someone at our home during the day most days of the week and we did not see anybody come to our door or to our yard, we thought this was just another poor excuse on the company's part. When the company owner finally showed up personally and looked at the tree, he promised to go back to the office and call with the estimate and date when the work could be completed. Instead, he called back later that same day only to say that the company would not be able to schedule us in until spring. Needless to say, with winter (with snow and winds) approaching and a damaged tree in close proximity to both our house and the next door neighbor's house, this is a completely unacceptable timeframe. In addition, the owner of the company and the office staff should have known what their schedule looked like when we first contacted them, and shouldn't have strung us along for two whole weeks before telling us they could not do the job. This makes for very poor business practices and extremely poor communication. We surely wouldn't be recommending Johnson's to anybody else who needs help with hazardous tree removal.
Description of Work: Came out and gave estimate for work, but later stated the work could not be completed.

They did a good job. I have used them for years; I don't know how I first heard of them. It was a huge tree and they had to get up there with a boom. In terms of punctuality, they are very busy so it takes a while to get on their schedule.
Description of Work: Johnson Tree Co. came out and trimmed trees.

It took 4 to 5 hours for them to do the job. Their service was excellent. I would recommend them to anybody. When I first called, I set up an appointment to have them come out and I was put on a waiting list because there was backlog. This was because of there was a lot of tree cutting because of the pine beetle infestation in this area. I had to wait about 2 months, but it didn't bother me when they came out as they were very busy. They put me on the list and came when my turn came on the list. It normally doesn't take that long to come out, but they had a rush of trees that had to be cut all of a sudden because of the pine beetle infestation in this area. I had called them in May and they came out somewhere in August or September. I have used them before in the past. I usually don't have to wait that long. It was an excusable delay. I understood when the lady at the reception desk explained it to me. I wasn't in really in any hurry. I told them as long as I had them come before the winter. They are very, very professional and have an explanation as to why I had to wait and was put on the list. The first time I used them, they were speedier, but the professionalism was the same except they had a good reason of pine beetle infestation in the Black Hill area of South Dakota. These wood cutting people became really busy. They get calls to cut down trees so that they don't spread. I would use them definitely the future if I had some more trees that needs to be cut down. They would be the ones I would go to.
Description of Work: Johnson Tree Company cut some trees down for me and trimmed some dead limbs of some other trees.
