We (my husband and I) entered into an agreement for 465 linear feet of wood privacy fence and 145ft of chain link fence on May 1, 2012 (see attached supplements for copy of agreement). At the time of signing the agreement I gave Renee Evans a check made payable to K-9 Fence company for the amount of $2300, as a deposit, which was deposited by Renee Evans on May 3,2012. Danny arrived on May 18th and began "setting" the posts as agreed (although we came to find out that some of the posts did not have concrete added...the posts were simply placed in the ground), and on May 21st, My husband issued a check for $2250, as a progress payment. This was also made out to K-9 Fence Company and was deposited by Renee Evans on May 22nd. We were told that this check would go to order supplies and that they would be back within a few days when the lumber was delivered to complete the job. This is where the issues started. My husband received a call from Renee the following week saying that Danny's mother was in the hospital and was terminal and that the work would be post poned by a week. We were understanding of the situation and didn't have a problem with that?well, that was the last direct contact that we got from them. We called the following week, and several times after that, leaving voicemails each time, with no calls back. The one time that my husband was able to reach Renee, the call "dropped" and we never got a call back. On June 25th, we received a hand written note on our front door from Danny asking us to call him. When we did he informed us that the lumber had not been ordered (he couldn't explain why or what was done with the money that we had given him, but said that it was never deposited), and that we would need to purchase the lumber ourselves for him to come out to finish the fence job. I told him at that time that we had proof of the cleared checks and that he needed to either complete the work as agreed (as we had no problem paying the final payment once the fence was complete), or refund us the money that we had paid to him so that we could get someone else to complete our fence. I also informed him that he was in breach of our agreement by not completing the job for the agreed upon amount as outline in our contract, and that I would be filing civil charges if we were not able to reach an agreement. On July 5th, a letter from Renee Evans (attached) arrived in our mailbox stating that she and Mr. Evans had seperated and that she was no longer involved in the completion of our fence and that we would need to contact Danny Evans to get a resolution. so we are out almost 5K and still have no fence to show for it... DO NOT TRUST THESE SNAKES WITH YOUR MONEY!!!!
Description of Work: We hired K9 Fence to install 465 linear feet of Wood Privacy Fence, re-inforce old fence post on our existing fence, and install 145ft of chain link, as well as replace gates on our existing fence.

Project ended up costing me more than originally quoted due to further discovery of broken posts instead of just leaning posts. Paint job was more, and am not convinced that maybe too much applied to fence, also overspray on grass and shrubbery. End result, the fence looks pretty good as far as color and paint goes. I am very unhappy that one leaning post was overlooked and not replaced. The post in question was hidden behind a very wide gardenia bush that was close up to the fence. During the process of painting I noticed they only stuck the wand behind the bush to get at the fence and in doing so managed to get more paint on the bush than on the fence. I brought out my clippers and asked them to please trim behind the bush so as to get the fence painted properly, I left them to do it and they did so. At this point, I feel they should have seen the leaning post, they said nothing. At the end of the day, they let me know they were finished and ready to be paid. I went out to look over the finished job, from inside looked good, I went outside and walked around to the back of the fence and noticed an area that needed more stain and that was when I first noticed a post was leaning and so had the fence sagging. I pointed this out to Renee and she sprayed this section again, and said they would come back and replace the post they had not noticed as they were painting it. This was the same post behind the gardenia bush, they had trimmed behind earlier. I had her to write this on my invoice, and about when they would return. They have not been back. After numerous attempts at calling with no success, I was finally able to get her to respond to my e-mail, this resulted in a back and forth discussion with her leaving it up to her partner to call me and determine when and if he would come back and replace the post at no charge. Renee said they would come back at a charge of $50 to replace this post, this covered the cost of post, time and travel. I do not mind paying the cost of the post, but feel as though they should have noticed that post and brought it to my attention while they were here. Her partner has not called me. I had no problem seeing that post on the outside of the fence as well as inside after the bush was trimmed up. I am left with feeling that they were in a hurry to finish, get paid, and get on their way, and hoped I would not notice. So after $1850, I still have a saggy fence, although a very well painted one. I am disappointed. This outfit is also affiliated with South Carolina Fence.
Description of Work: Quoted $350 to reset 9 posts and realign a section of wood fence. Later discovered posts were broken, so had to replace 9 posts, cost increased to $500. Completed job with adding 1 more post, no extra charge. Quoted pressure cleaning and staining fence at $1200, included Cabot semi transparent stain. Completed job by broom sweeping the fence and adding another 5 gal of stain at $150, total charge of $1350. Total project cost $1850.

Wanted a privacy fence around the backyard, because we have 4 dogs, and wanted them to have some room and keep them inside the yard instead having them in the streets. K9 Fencing company came out, measure the yard, locate the property line stakes, and did an outstanding job, they made sure the area was cleaned after the job was completed. They were professional and I would recommend them.

The carpenter who built my arbor was great! He spent a great deal of time with me initally showing me previous work and making sure the structure he was going to build was exactly what I wanted. They got it up in record time and I love it. There are customizations that I specifically asked for and it looks so wonderful I couldnt be happier. If I didn't already have a fence, I'd be thinking about what else I could add to my yard to make it beautiful. Thanks guys, great job!
