Brian Rabon, owner of AirToday, is a fantastic tradesman. As another reviewer has mentioned, he does not advertise - his clientele is entirely built through word-of-mouth. I know this can be disconcerting for some - it was for me the first time - but rest assured that this guy is the best choice you could possibly make. The first time I called him, our A/C wasn't working properly. I was overwhelmed with the task of trying to select a tradesman to tackle the job, and finally asked a contractor fried, who referred me to Brian. I called AirToday, and Brian was there at my house within 45 minutes...which happened to be roughly 8:30PM on a Thursday! He diagnosed the problem(s) in a few minutes; telling me that the condenser was undersized for the unit; and the heat fins had been corroded by dog urine (previous owner, this was an obvious problem); and there was a freon leak. He gave me the blow - that I'd have to replace my A/C when I could afford it - but suggested the temporary fix of recharging the system. It was a slow leak, and he told me that I'd have to recharge it every season until I got around to replacing it, but it would at least help us achieve greater comfort in the 100+ degree weather of the Deep South. His total cost: $153, for something like 3 lbs of freon, diagnosis, etc. I thought that was very reasonable; and I especially appreciated the fact that he took so much time to explain the problem at hand and suggest possible solutions, despite the late hour. Needless to say, when I got tired of paying $100/month more than I should for utilities, due to having an undersized and poorly-functioning A/C unit running incessantly, I called Brian. He came out and worked up a quote for me, and I'll admit that - not knowing how much these things cost - I had a serious case of sticker shock. I wasn't expecting to pay over $4,000 to replace a condenser unit. Despite my trust in his ability and price, on such a big purchase I wanted to make sure that I had comparisons, so I told him I'd be in touch. In the meantime, I had three of the most well-known, highly-rated companies in the area come out and give me a quote; all three exceeded his quoted price by a minimum of $1,000, the highest being over $3,000 more. That was all I needed to know; I called Brian and let him know that we'd go ahead with it. He and his assistant came out to the house the day of the replacement with the brand-new unit. He was every bit as conscientious and professional as I'd known him to be. What amazed me was that they were able to complete the entire effort in no more than three hours. Simply incredible! The most fantastic thing about the whole deal was that I never had to worry about it again. After spending a large portion of my time on a daily basis trying to figure out better ways to circulate air around the house, attempting to get the house to cool to a comfortable temperature (since setting the AC on 72, for example, meant that the temperature would never drop below 76, 78 on a bad day), it was a wonderful relief to set the thermostat on 69 degrees on a 105 degree day, and have the house stay at 69 degrees. I haven't had a single problem with the unit, or any associated component, since. Best $4,300 I've ever spent.
Description of Work: Replaced the entire A/C system (condensor, lines, coils, etc.)

Complete AC replacement unit changed inside and out in one day.
Description of Work: Brian Rabon is the owner of AirToday, West Columbia, SC. He does not advertise on TV, and he passes the savings on to you. My AC unit was shot. It had to be completely replaced. My buddy paid $7,000 for the EXACT SAME THING from one of the "big boys" that advertises on TV.
