Coblentz Concrete Construction

Mr. Coblentz and his son did a very good job over the span of 4 days of demolishing the old driveway and patio, removing all the debris, smoothing the dirt underlay and setting up the forms, pouring the concrete and smoothing it out, and cutting the tension joints after it had set. Went very well other than some small concrete splatter droplets on siding even with plastic sheets up on walls. Fortunately, the spots cleaned off easily. Would recommend them with no reservations.

His name is Burke Hammes and he thought it is a piece of cake and he said he was going to do a couple of ditches and that's going to take care but that was not enough because even with that we were looking at our grass on the side that was too high and I wasn't impressed with that. The grass on the each side of the driveway was higher than the driveway and water couldn't possibly get out from there without a specific drain and by raising the driveway by a couple of inches the way the other provider described. It was like the guy couldn't wait to get out and there were no attention to details but just attention to saving a couple of bucks but not addressing effectively to the problem in my opinion. First of all it was nice saving money here and there but they really need to sculpt out the job a lot better and show the customer what he can do to take care of the problem. They had to tell us where the water is going to go and describe how it was going to get there and that was very broad brush strokes and little of flavor type of description and I was just scratching my head with the questions later on. He said as a measure of good faith he said he would load extra dirt for $300. It was very disappointing and I don't have faith whatsoever in people like that.

Our existing concrete sidewalk and driveway was in poor condition and unattractive. We wanted a more attractive and slightly wider driveway with good drainage and expanded sidewalks. We received bids from multiple firms and Coblentz offered the best price. Dennis Coblentz and his son arrived as agreed and immediately set to work demolishing the existing concrete. They kept the worksite as neat as is possible considering the type of work involved. Based on his 30 years of experience in concrete work, Mr. Coblentz was able to provide us with very helpful input and suggestions. We have received many compliments on our driveway and sidewalks regarding the professional workmanship and appearance.
