Phone response to my request was prompt. Estimate date was agreed upon. Chris was prompt and professional. He and his employee arrived on time. The work was completed and everything was left clean. Very satisfied with the work. Would hire again.

He came out and gave me a quote. I got him out here to do the work. He is excellent. It didn't take as long as they thought it would take. It didn't even take a full day.

I was impressed with the owner's knowledge and the fact that he was a factory (Velux) certified installer. Be advised, skylights are not inexpensive!

Chris, the owner, came out and quoted my job. We discussed, in detail, the options to bring more light into my family room. He was very knowledgeable and asked specific question to make sure he knew what I wanted. Chris discussed the pros and cons of skylights vs solar tubes. I did get one other quote and talked to other companies on the phone. Nobody had the knowledge Chris did. The quotes were similar, Chris' was slightly lower. A date was scheduled. Chris came with two of his employee exactly when he said he would. We decided to put in two large skylights. They came at 9 and were done at 5. Chris stayed until the skylights were placed and secure. His two employee did the finishing work. I couldn't be happier with the skylights. I love them!

The crew was quick, clean and courteous. The room is so much brighter now, thank you so much!!!

This contractor was an Angies List A rated contractor located about an hour an half away from my home. He was punctual on the estimate visit and the installation was professional done as far as the carpentry was concerned. Chris Manges the principal left his crew to finish and one of two skylights wasn't working after numerous phone calls and tech calls to Velux the manufacturer the 2nd skylight never worked. After months of phone calls to Velux and emails to Chris Manges I finally got a Velux rep here February 4th 6 months after installation. The price quoted seemed high to me $10,400 for two skylights with installation. I asked the contractor for a breakdown of labor and materials but only got an estimate of the break down in an email. I also got no documentation on how to operate the units and finally got some from the manufacturer. When I was visited by the Velux rep yesterday I inquired what is the reasonable cost of these units installed and he indicated $2,500-$3,000 per unit. My cost was $3,000-$4,000 higher than that I even was willing the contractor the benefit of the doubt because I have a steep roof. The crew was here for 1 day with two installers and Chris Manges the owner. The Velux rep indicated that one of the remotes did not work and replaced my two remotes with a new upgraded remote. I will say it is my lack of negotiating or bidding other contractors at the cost differential. But the follow customer service to get the units operational was very poor on the part of the contractor. The Velux rep indicated they have other installers in the Asheville, NC area and when I contacted Daylight Solutions they should have referred me to a more local installer rather than raise my price due to travel distance. Finally everything is now working

They were excellent. They were on time. We have a warranty and there hasn't been any leaks.

We didn't end up using Daylight Solutions because the price was too high and the contractor wanted to cut into the brand new roof we were having installed at the same time. Basically, he told us to let the roof go on first, THEN, he'd come and cut holes and install the lights. Um, why pay to have a new roof put on if you're just going to cut holes in it the following week? The rep told us that's the only way he could give us the 10 yr Velux warranty. Well, go on Veluxusa.com and it says the warranty is good no matter WHO installs the lights, as long as they use the Velux flashing kit. We pointed that out and the story changed. Now we were told the skylight framing is done off-site because it's "easier" that way. Hmm. Bottom line: The roofer's lifetime warranty is voided if anyone tampers with the roof after it's installed. We felt this guy was tacking more labor onto his estimate to up his profit. We didn't like that the story changed and the price was much higher than the other four estimates. We let him go.

Quality Installation

When Chris came out to the home, we immediately felt confident that he wasvery knowledgeable about skylights and agreed to work with us in putting a skylight into the living room cathelral ceiling. When the team came, Chris immediately started working on the project and gave some instructions to his team, and the installation for very easy and fast. Chris applied the dry wall expertly, and the skylight was beautfiul. After another drywall sanding the next day, things looked great. On the third day,Chris completed sanding of the drywall and added trim to the skylight to incoporate the ceiling with the skylight. The stained trim was perfect for the other stained trim we had in the room.In fact, the stained trim made the whole project pop with continuity and beauty. That was it, the process was comeplete in three days. I love the outcome, it is a blessing with lots of light where little light was in the room before. It makes me smile every time I go into the room, it was just what we needed. Caroline

I called Chris Manges {Daylight Solutions} and had him come to my house to give me an estimate and advice for the light i was wanting to come into my house without bleaching furniture or rugs.We agreed on the job to be done and set our date to start. He and his crew were on time and got right to work.They were all very professional and polite.They finished all the work as promised ,cleaned up everything before leaving. I am very pleased with all there work and most likely will be calling them again for more suntunnels or skylight in the future.

Great experience. I have old, cheap skylights (not from this company) that started to leak, they came out and re-caulked them. They did the work quickly, professionally, and affordably. Couldn't be happier.

This company was very professional. From the first appointment (called in advance to let us know they were on the way), right through the installation. Chris, Matt and Mario delivered and installed in a very professional manner. No fuss, clean up was super and all with smiles on their faces.

Ask Chris to come over and make an estimate to repace four skylights in our living room. The day of the appointment, he was late. I had to call him, because he was a no-show. But after I called him, it was just a matter of a few minutes and he arrived. A very pleasant young man, very personable too. His estimate came in too high and so we settled with someone else.

It went great! They arrived when they said, they did the job efficiently. They were done in 6 hours. No leaks and looks great!
