In a nutshell, it went very well. My wife and I moved to the Greer area from Michigan in October, 2013. Our house in Greer is on the side of a moderately steep hill, so we knew when we purchased the house that construction of a retaining wall would be necessary if we were to have a pool installed in 2014. After consulting with our pool builder, checking Angie's List, and meeting with Dennis Cameron, we decided to award our retaining wall project to Cameron Landscape Management. All retaining wall projects are somewhat one-of-a-kind, but there were several particular concerns with our situation that would be important for our contractor to be able to manage. First, our septic tank was located in the desired pool/pool deck area. It would need to be removed, disposed of, and the resulting hole back-filled with quarry dust. Second, the steepness of the hill required a wall that would be 46" - "47" high as measured from the finished pool deck. That does not include depth of the wall foundation. Third, the shape of the house dictated that the wall would not only be long, but would contain many curves in order to maximize the size of the pool deck. Last, we wanted two flag stone staircases integrated into the wall. Dennis personally completed the excavation of the septic tank and the wall. Construction of the wall was done by his team, with all major decisions regarding contour changes and stair case construction done in consultation with Dennis. Dennis was on the site nearly every day that his people were working. The completed wall looks fantastic (see attachments). We have received compliments on the wall and staircases form virtually everyone who has seen them. I was also very pleased with the construction of the foundation and wall, from a structural standpoint. Twenty tons of quarry dust to back-fill the tank and forty tons of gravel/rock were used in the wall construction. We would not hesitate to hire Dennis for another project or recommend him for construction of a retaining wall. After the wall was completed, it was the pool company's turn and we went ahead with completion of the swimming pool and deck. We have awarded the finished grading of the backyard, re-seeding of the disturbed areas and reconstruction of the irrigation system to Cameron Landscape Management as a second project.

They were truly professional and even went as far as to get plans drawn by an engineer. They completely transformed my steep slope into a wonderful spot for a pool! They supplied everything including irrigation and sod, and a fire pit.
Description of Work: Built a retainer wall for my new pool

Dennis is the owner and one to talk to. He showed me some of his beautiful walls that he has built over the years. We talked about some ideas for my backyard and he had some great ones. After I signed the contract, I paid him half up front and he quickly got started. He even worked on a Saturday to finish up, then upgraded my outdoor lights, and mulched my whole yard front and back just to be great! His price is a little steep, but if any one deserves it, he and his crew do! Just outstanding work ethic and communication all the way through!
Description of Work: Built stacked wall fence in backyard, made matching backdoor porch, and layer mulch down.
