Imperial Landscapes

Imperial Landscape is by far the best company I have used to do the outside landscaping work at my home. Michael Dodson is very professional and arrived on time for all appointments. He performed the work exactly as planned and was so helpful in making suggestions to help me decide what stone to use and what plants to put in my front yard area. The project from start to finish was perfect with the crew cleaning up each day. In the middle of the project, I had to be unexpectedly out of town and Michael Dodson kept me updated with both phone calls and text messages including photos of the finished project to make sure I was satisfied. I am 100% plus satisfied and have many compliments from my neighbors on the front yard project. I would definitely use Imperial Landscapes if I have another outside project and highly recommend Imperial Landscape.

Michael Dodson and his crew were efficient, pleasant and clearly wanted to provide a quality service. I had used them years ago, and was delighted to be able to re-connect with them for my latest project. I would use them again - and would refer them to anyone in need of their services - without question.

Imperial Landscapes completed installation of a landscape design plan. Michael performed good work, and was honest, but failed to honor the warranty for one arbor vitae, and then stopped returning my calls. 7-May-2015 update: Michael came by, apologized for the omission, and offered to honor the warranty. I appreciated this, and consider the matter resolved.

They were on time and professional. We had some issues with a supplier during the work but Michael handled it very professionally and to our satisfaction. The crew was hard working - they showed up on time in the morning, worked until lunch, then back and worked as late as needed. The patio, porch, and yard are beautiful. You won't find a better company.

We are very pleased with the finished product. The custom swing set turned out great. Michael listened to our needs and came up with a design that addressed everything. There was an issue with some of the large plants we ordered not being available, and he went out of his way to get them from a nursery out of town within the project timeline. We are looking forward to having a usable play space when the weather warms up. Michael was very detail oriented and available to answer all of our questions. His team started and completed the work during proposed timeframe. I would definitely recommend them.

Our contractor was everything you could possibly want. Our project was everything you wouldn't want to take on as a contractor. Imperial gave us an estimate that was lower (10%-20%) than several other contractors we received estimates from. They were good companies with good track records, but Michael Dodson and Imperial seemed more in tune with what we were after. He had a helpful way of showing us possibilities within our budget and preferences. After a few meetings we were confident that we could get out of his way and we would be happy with the results. Before we began were concerned about some physical features of our yard and problems that he might run into. He told us that once he we had a contract, what happened next was up to him. Our worst fears were realized and the substrate was full of granite (not the good kind either). It cost his company time and money and equipment to work through it. Imperial refused to pass costs on to us even as we watched them chisel away at rock in freezing temperature to get us what we were after. Because his integrity and customer confidence were more important to him than recouping costs, his price never changed! When some aspects of the project would have required work our Homeowners Association and neighbors would not have appreciated (blasting through the granite), Michael helped us rethink the possibilities and created something more beautiful than we could have imagined. The hardscapes and architectural aspects were so well done, and then they came through again with the landscaping. They were able to walk us through seasonal color changes in plant materials, growth rates, specimen and ornamental trees, bushes, flowers, ferns, ornamental and lawn grasses and more. At then end of it we had a great plan, which went in beautifully even in the winter. He was able to help us shave costs and get more bang for our buck. He also helped us (as people in the age of pinterest) to realize what climactically what would thrive and be maintainable. Don't miss the value of that kind of wisdom. We and our neighbors are in awe that it's the same backyard and requests for contact info have been pouring in for the name of our contractor. Finally, it's worth mentioning that the Imperial Crew (Michael, Josh and Hugo) were a delight to have around. They were always right on time, cleaned up daily, went beyond the contract, and even helped with some of my own home care (uncollected fall leaves). They worked hard and efficiently, and asked for nothing. The crew members were gentlemen, well informed, and happy to dialogue with us when we had questions. These are guys you be happy to have back for a BBQ when the work is done. When everything was finally done, and the crew was surveying their work with us and everyone was reveling in the moment, one of the crew said we have something for your wife. It was a piece of the granite they had spent an extra week chiseling through. He had polished it and clear coated as a token of what was underneath. Pretty cool stuff and it's now proudly on display. We can't guarantee you that you're experience will be just like ours, but Imperial is a company that you would not regret doing business with. The price, experience, combination of professional and yet family feel, technical expertise, aesthetics, quality, and enthusiasm are what I would think would satisfy every customer. The main issue for you will be how quickly you could contract with them.

Work to begin soon. The job is complete and as I write this review I'm enjoying the sound of the custom water feature that was part of this project. From initial meeting and planning to contract to work beginning to job completed everything about this experience met and mainly exceeded our expectations. As mentioned above Michael and his crew are very professional and courteous and were so throughout the project. During the planning which was us describing what we wanted it was a very collaborative conversation with Michael providing excellent suggestions and expertise. Michael outlined how the project would move forward and gave a timeline that was spot on. The quality of the work was excellent and most importantly it is the small details that Michael and his crew take the time to address and complete that make a difference. Also Michael was very responsive to any questions or calls throughout this project. I highly recommend Imperial Landscape for your project. You will not be disappointed.

Michael actually returned my phone call for a price quote! He met with us when he said he would. He listened to our ideas for the project. He offered excellent ideas to enhance the project. Michael is a landscape artist. He was sensitive to our desire to stay within a dollar amount, but his suggestions were so good, we stretched the budget. Michael brought me a paver sample, and when I couldn't visualize it, he took me to the stone yard for a tour. My decision became clear. All along the way, Michael was a creative problem solver and always upfront if he ran into a problem. We felt very confident letting him dig up our backyard. We did not get a bunch of random workers every day--it was always Michael, Hugo, and Josh. They came early, worked hard all day, cleaned up, and finished the patio according to our contract. These great guys even brought extra mulch and took care of all my mulch beds for a nominal charge. We've been enjoying the patio for weeks. It's very beautiful and very functional.

Excellent job. Michael came out and met with us to initially discuss what we wanted done and spent at least an hour walking around property and making suggestions to enhance our landscaping.. All staff polite, neat and did a wonderful job. Always arrived on time , cleaned up at end of work. We will definitely call Imperial for any further landscaping projects.

We never heard anything back. Provider never came back to shoot land and never called. They apparently were too busy to take on another customer.

Came out, measured, promised to get back to us soon with a quote but never did. Called him twice, he did not respond. He could at least call and say he wasn't interested in quoting us a price.

Michael was very responsive to my initial call. He came out and was at the house in person for a verbal estimate. We spoke for about 20 minutes about specifics. Upon leaving he was to send an email with the quote in writing as to what he was pricing me for. He told me it'd be by the end of the week (he came on a Monday) and I never saw an email. I am unsure if he got my email address wrong, or if he just forgot. The price per square given in person was on the higher end of other quotes, but I would've liked to have an extra quote to compare against others. Professionalism was very good and he certainly seemed like he believed in a quality product they provided.

I've used them for little things, but he actually did a humongous job here. He did our sod on the beds, the irrigation and he has since done some other work in our backyard, he has done fridge drains. I would highly recommend him for all of those things.

Michael was very sensitive to the fact that he would need to transport the materials across our lawn. Because of bad weather, he rescheduled the work several times to prevent extensive lawn damage. When they were able to perform the work, he and his team laid down a plywood track which prevented lawn damage from the equipment. The dirt he provided for the job was topsoil, not some cheap fill dirt. The stone he provided were large decorative river rock, not rip rap. He and his team were very professional, did excellent work and did an exceptional job of cleanup after they were done. Without hesitation, I would recommend Michael and his team to anyone and will absolutely use his services again if the need arises. They exceeded our expectations in everyway.

They basically re did my entire yard. They did a new retaining wall and their work transformed my entire yard. People stop and comment on how beautiful my yard looks. The way they arranged the garden is whimsical.

He has since provided several neighbors with landscaping design/installations and we are all enjoying his beautiful work! Next project; backyard oasis! And we already know we will call Michael at Imperial Landscaping!

They did everything they were supposed to do for the price they quoted and on time. I would highly recommend them.

Great. Weather delayed. Stuck with it. Michael is the owner an believes in his co. And service the provide. He is proud of his work..

It was a wonderful experience. Michael was very patient and figured out exactly what we wanted. The crew showed up promptly each day and the finished product exceeded our expectations. They actually go above and beyond. They incorporated an area between the wall and patio for some landscaping and Michael planted Pansy's for me.

Mike and his crew did excellent work. The home builder only sodded the front yard and left us with nothing more than a rut filled, clay mud pit, straw strewn mess for a yard. Imperial Landscapers prepared the yard for sod -- it actually looked better as just smoothed over dirt that what the builder had left us, and did a great job. He had soil tests done and left us with a printed instruction sheet detailing several different fertilizer mixes, and how and when to use them. Also watering instructions and what to look for when the the sod is beginning to take hold. * Also, we split the cost with neighbors to have lawn drains tied into some underground pipes that were previously installed to our roof down spouts, (similar to a french drain). Again, flawless work.

Great job by Michael and crew. Very professional work done in a timely manner (between rain showers.) Provided great suggestions on design of walkway, plants and locations. Left the work site spotless. Highly recommend them!!

Michael and his crew did a great job. We are very pleased with the walkway and the landscaping . Michael was very easy to talk to and worked really hard at giving us just what we wanted. He made some suggestions and recommendations that we really liked and ultimately we agreed on the work to be done. The Imperial crew worked hard, were polite and professional, and left the area neat every evening.

Mike and the crew were very timely and finished all work requested. Mike is very professional and his crew did an excellent job. The y finished in one day. It looks fantastic and we love it. We are planning to do more work in the back yard and Mike will be doing that as well. I highly recommend Imperial Landscaping.

We live in our backyard (almost an acre) and it needed lots of TLC! Michael & his crew had recently finished our many front yard projects, so we decided we really needed him to come back to work on our huge backyard! Michael designed 2 beautiful beds; both functional, very different and complementing our yard so well. The first area was designed for our bird-loving enjoyment! He used natural stone as a border, moved and increased the bed from 8' to 25', installed a very unique water feature, and chose such beautiful plants that even our birds are excited for their new playground!! The second area Michael designed really presented some challenges! Michael actually visualized an area for outdoor relaxing where we thought it was impossible! He had to work with a huge magnolia, a water runoff concern and a grade issue. WOW! He designed & built a beautiful little oasis for us! We love the creativity & expertise that he and his crew bring to the job! Michael knew exactly what was necessary to complete our drain system, adding in several house & building downspouts. These were all piped underground, so there are no more issues with water runoff. The new irrigation system he had installed was enhanced to take care of our new bedding area. An in-ground spigot was strategically placed, so no more 100' hoses or sprinklers needed! Because our yard has a definite slope down to a creek, we had many areas that required grading, and sod in some areas. The yard will be so much easier for us to maintain now! His guys are very thorough and precise, and always pleasant. They have been a real pleasure to work with! Our yard has never been so beautiful and enjoyable! We love it and love sharing its beauty with friends and neighbors! I don't know how soon we'll be doing any more projects, but we can tell you it will be Michael & his crew doing the design!
