Carters Hardwood Floors

I used him to splice in a section of flooring and then sand and re-finish floors. We originally had a pre-finished floors and the spliced in patch was so terrible that "the only to fix it was to sand and re-finish". We reluctantly agreed and I had to continually beg him to come back and start or finish the work. Like the previous posts he asked for more money and even rental equipment and would just take it off of the bill. He is very filthy did take things out of my cabinets and after seeing all of the negative things associated with his phone number and name when googled, i am glad he did not finish the floors. Ultimately, we ended up paying someone to finish the job. Upon asking other people about the sanding job that was done they told me that all of the finish was not removed and two more standings needed to be done with a progressively finer grit before applying stain. Mr. Carter was ready to apply stain, so I don't even know how knowledgeable he really is. Google his personal name (Brett Carter) and phone number and make up your own mind about letting this person in your home!

Mr. Carter is very unreliable and lacks professionalism. After moving the deadline for our floors to be done 4 times, at his request, he still has not completed them. He has made multiple excuses as to why he hasn't finished. We schedule times for him to come and he just doesn't show up. He ignores calls and texts. We spent 3 nights in a hotel room while he was sanding and finishing our floors. We returned home to find only the edges of some of the floors had been sanded. After reviewing the security cameras we realized that he only worked the first day of our hotel stay. He left trash everywhere, including soda cans, nails, and wrappers from food taken from our freezer. We agreed to the 35% deposit and paid it yet he repeatedly requested more money for wood, finish, and even labor. We now have an almost completely installed floor in 1 room, 1 room and 2 hallways with the edges sanded, and 1 room untouched. He hasn't shown up to work in 8 days. We have terminated the arrangement and are taking legal action.
