COMPUTER UPGRADERS

Great company to deal with! My parent’s computer was invaded by a fake Microsoft tech who downloaded all my personal information and began making unauthorized transactions on their credit cards. I jumped into my pick up and headed back to Sumter where I grew up. I was in total panic when I arrived at Computer Upgraders. The shop was very clean, neat and like no other repair shop I have ever been in. The employees were very courteous, friendly and obviously educated in all aspects of computer repair. They were all nicely dressed and wore clean, pressed company shirts which made them easily identifiable. I was already impressed. Most shops in Sumter don’t look this nice. They assured me they see this frequently and said they will remove all of the programs the scammer installed on my parent’s computer and added software protection to prevent them coming back. Additionally, they explained to me what to do to avoid my parent’s identities being compromised by going to their bank and alerting law enforcement. They are open from 9 AM to 9 PM so they were able to get the job done by the end of the day. I was appreciative they could provide same day service but since they are the only shop open past 6 PM, I guess it makes sense. A few days later they called to check with me and make sure everything is alright. I have had my computers repaired dozens of times over the years and no shop ever called me to make sure I was satisfied. They are simply the best computer shop I have ever used, there are no equals! I can now recommend an honest, reputable shop to fix my parent’s computer problems and not be afraid they would be ripped off. That will save me a five-hour ride round trip. Simply put, I will never take my laptop or electronics any other place to be serviced. Take my advice, you won’t be disappointed. They are simply the best.

The entire experience was wonderful! The price was a fantastic deal and the technician had my phone done within 30 minutes! I barely left when they told me my phone was ready. I can't tell when the last time I met such friendly, personable and knowledgable people who cared about me, They even call me back a few days later to check on my phone, just to make sure everything was good! I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!

Well we've yet to get our surface fixed, although they've said they were thorough and have contacted us in regards to our surface, that just isn't the case! They are issuing us a refund since they've yet to fix our screen and now they're saying it wasn't the screen that was damamged, which isn't our fault. My one and a half year old dropped the surface and it was never used until we took to them to repair. They don't seem to be concerned about their customers as they had each other's backs when I spoke with them this morning! Saying they spoke with us on Tuesday when our phone records clearly show they didn't speak to us until Wednesday! My advice is seek out another repair shop! I am thankful for the refund, because I really only want my surface fixed, but I regret ever taking our tablet there!!

Went very well. My computer is running super fast and they were very professional and answered all my questions in a friendly and helpful manner. Their business is clean and easy to get to in Sumter. Would recommend them to anyone who lives in or near to Sumter. I certainly will use the again in the future.

I found myself with a non-functional system Friday morning after cleaning the noisy and dusty fans inside my computer tower. When I put everything back together, nothing worked. The fans would spin but nothing powered up. I was at a total loss.I called their shop mainly because they were closest to me. Malcolm, the General Manager answered the phone and spoke with me a bit about my problem. He was very cordial, professional and well-mannered. He was up front with me about the resonable diagnostic fees and invited me to bring my system in at the earliest convenience. When I did he had some very simple paperwork for me to fill out to give them some general information and then his staff went right to work. By the end of the day on Friday, they did not have a solution for me then because they were being very thorough using state-of-the-art equipment to chek out every component related to my problem to insure accuracy. I did call through the day to check on thier progress because I anm kind of neurotic about my system, but they were always patient and receptive, and very reassuring. Saturday afternoon they had a fix on my problem and contacted me. They gave me the option of either special ordering the same motherboard I had or using a similar one they had in stock. The only hiccup was my RAM. I had 4 sticks but the motherboard they offered only had 2. They did, however, offer to exchange my old RAM with 2 sticks of larger RAM and gave me a substancial discount for the exchange. This pleased me to no end. The estimate was so reasonable, I decided to also upgrade my video card. Their hours are limited on Saturday but Malcolm and his staff even stayed late to finish the work on my system so they could have my system up and running and back to me that day. I was so impressed with Malcolm and his staff that I joined Angie's list just so I can tell everyone about my experience, Let me also add that they do offer a Military Discount to both Active Duty and Veterans like myself. I am extremelu happy with my experience with this company.

Our desktop computer was running slowly and then acquired a virus. Computer Upgraders was recommended by a friend who uses them each year to do basic "cleaning" of their computer. Computer Upgraders listened to my issues, asked a few key questions, and explained how they could fix our problems. They also gave me an estimate of their services. After examining our computer, Computer Upgraders called to discuss some improvements that could help our old 2004 computer handle new programs and run more efficiently. We had the virus removed, the inadequate security system removed, a good security system installed, and increased the RAM. Our computer runs quickly now and can handle multiple tasks without waiting. I was told that they like to have work completed within 5 working days. I had extra done, so completion took a little more time. I have a laptop as backup, so waiting was no problem. Computer Upgraders was friendly and professional. I appreciated the phone calls and the no pressure sales. The upgrade choices were mine to make and I'm glad we did. Thanks for the great work Computer Upgraders. P.S. Basic services are much less costly. I feel like we got a new computer for $160.

Great experience. Professionals at diagnosing problem and providing solution. Timely. Friendly. Willing to share their knowledge with me. Prices were exceptionally good. Taught me new tricks to protect my computer. Left me with the positive feeling that (a) they WANTED to do a good job and (b) WANTED my future business. Business has been there 10+ years -- this says tons (considering the ever changing world of computers!!). HIGHLY recommend Computer Upgraders for all your computer needs - whether buying computers, assessories, or service. Can't say enough good things about them.
