They never showed or called. They said they bumped me the second time. They did not follow through with their appointments and cancelled twice. They never called to let us know. We were very disappointed with their lack of service and communication.
Description of Work: They lost our appointment twice. They were supposed to install some tile and back splash.

After some confusion and a misunderstanding on my part Wilson's Carpets contacted me about the problem I was having with the original installation of a linoleum floor. I was angry because it to me seemed that Wilson's was not interested in resolving my problem. Once we got together on the same page and began talking, Wilson's was very understanding and committed to solving my problem. They sent a rep over who inspected the floor and offered several different ways to fix the problems we were having. We decided that our best option would be to go from linoleum to laminate. Wilson's compensated us for the installed floor and gave us a good deal on the new one. The installers arrived on time and did the job in a very professional manner. They answered all of our questions and did everything we asked of them. Everyone involved in the process was friendly and conciliatory and determined to make us happy. After a shaky start (caused mainly by erroneous assumptions on my part) our experience with Wilson's turned out to be a positve one. I learned a valuable lesson from this experience - don't assume the worse until you have all the facts.
Description of Work: Remove linoleum floor and replace with laminate. Replace trim and any parts affected by work.

I had used them before for carpeting. I went down there and selected the tiles that I wanted. They hired and sent a contractor to my place. The contractor came in with a kid and said that he was his boy and he was going to be assisting. It turned out that he was just a kid he had met through the church. The kid did a lot of the lifting and searching for materials and tools. The contractor had to go and get some more supplies. He left the kid here and that kid had made a circular saw cutting by the cement board that went on the floor to put the ceramic tile on. That kid cut that piece and put that on the floor. They even brought a wrong colored piece. He put the board a cut too short in one part of the house. Over a year I had a crack in the ground right in front of my bathtub and I called them back. They sent a repairman up here to fix it. It worked fine for a while and now it is cracking again. The underlayment was not where it should have been. The ground in between has started to crack and is turning black.

We have been saving to have our carpet replaced with linoleum in the den, dining room and kitchen for some time. After researching our options Wilson's did have a competitive price and after my wife talked to the people there she was confident that would do a good job. It took them several weeks after they promised to come to start the job. Two men were sent to do the job. They moved the furniture out the way, removed the Carpet and glued down the floor: all within a five hour period. After they left we immediately noticed that there were bubbles in the floor - everywhere. After contacting the store they said they would send someone back immediately. After about two weeks one man returned, moved the furniture and glued down the places where the worst bubbles were. This did not work. We called the store for weeks and weeks and one person would tell us someone would call and then when they didn't and we called back they would say they didn't get our message. I could not get any satisfaction from this business until I went on Facebook and began sharing my story every day for weeks. I even found a local review site on line and negatively reviewed the company (there were already other negative reviews posted). Finally, some really nice man called and said that they owner was alerted to the Facebook entries and was very "concerned". He said that he would come out and look at the floor. After about a week he did come out and the first thing he said to us what that this was "the wrong kind of floor" and should never have been laid down. He said that the floor needed to be removed. We told him that we wanted the $2700 applied to the cost of laminate (our first choice) and he promised to get back too us with a price. He called us one other time to tell us the difference and we thought that it was too high. That was a month or so ago and we have heard nothing from anyone from the store. Wilson's ruined my floor and has made no effort to rectify the situation. They won't return our calls or send someone back out to work on the problem. We are very disappointed and plan to take Wilson's to small claims court if all else fails.Based on my experience I recommend that you never use this business and I plan on telling everyone I know the same thing.
Description of Work: Wilson's Carpet came in, removed the trim from the walls, then removed the Carpet. They then laid down linoleum, reinstalled the trim and left.

I was conducting business 3,000 miles away but I was explicit with the details of my instruction. I told Wilson to remove the old carpets and leave the bare floors so I could bring in the painters...however, I was informed by the painters that new carpets were in the entire house and that the job was going to take longer. Also, I was unable to confirm if a new carpet pad was laid down...it doesn't feel as plush as the $1,200 pad I thought to be purchasing. I guess I'll never know unless I rip up the carpet. Needless to say, I'm disappointed with Wilson Carpet and will never be using them again.
Description of Work: I purchased a new home and needed to replace all carpets in entire house.

I understand that he was out of the area when he contacted us for his flooring but we had him scheduled for the carpet installation which was to be after the painters which they kept cancelling and putting everyone off schedule. Since we did the install before the painters we bought plastic and covered the carpet for the painters at our own expense as well as installed transitions at no cost. Since we are supporters of the military we also gave him a military discount greater than the company allows and can not believe we are having these issues on the job. We are a family business and try to treat every customer as we would like to be treated and am sorry he did not think we did a good job for him. We never received a call about poor workmenship and know we did a great job on the install but were off on the timing.

We accepted this estimate as one of three we obtained. We notified the salesan by phone. He said he would need a deposit to order the flooring we had picked out. I gave him my credit card number over the phone. The materials were delivered and left in the living room for a few days while I waited for him to call and schedule the installation. The installation crew showed up unannounced one morning as we were leaving for doctor appointments. I called the salesman and he asked that I call him when we got back from the doctor. I called the salesman that afternoon and asked when the installation could be scheduled. He said he would call me back. While I was waiting I happened to review my credit card to find he had charged my card for the entire purchase amount. After waiting the rest of that day and most of the next, I finally had to call him back. He gave me an installation date over a week away. The actual installation went OK. The floor looks good and I am glad to be done with the project.

I am not sure why the whole amount got charged to your credit card but it was only two weeks from the date the order was placed until the job was completed. We have to schedule the contractors when they are available not when we want them to be there since they are independent contractors. We want to make sure we get the right person on the job so that the job is done to your satisfaction. We are glad everything was taken care of correctly for you and apologize for any misunderstanding about your charge card which if you bought from a chain store they require 100% up front before they order your materials.

We bought extra nice carpet. Wayne Tomlinson helped us pick it out. They moved the furniture. It was quick and painless. The room has a walk in closet around the corner and they used one piece of carpet and didn't seam it anywhere. They didn't have to cut it and I liked that feature. We plan to go back to them when we finish our bathroom.
Description of Work: We used Wilson's Carpet Plus to put carpet in our bedroom.

They have done really good job for me. The representative who came out had a child with him. He said that the boy was his son and he would be working with him. I asked the age of his son and he said he was16 years old. Later, it turned out that it was not his son but he had met that boy through the church probably to get cheap labor. The kid was getting the boxes which weighed around 50 pounds of tile and went through 3 rooms which were approximately 45-50 fts. The representative had to go back and get more supplies so he showed the kid how to install a backboard down on the floor. He left the kid running a circular saw. He left him with the adults. When I went to pay the bill I told him that when I hired him he didn?t have to send children on the job. The kid left a gap between a backboard. He cut it with a circular saw and it was crooked but he installed it that way. When he finished the work he had to clean up. He cleaned it up one time. We had to get down and take the concrete off the baseboard underneath the sink. He had to clean the floor 3 times to get the stuff off the floor. He did a lousy job of cleaning up and he used the kid. I told him not to send a kid to work ever as I wouldn?t pay for the kids. They laid the tiles in my bathroom. They were punctual but they didn?t get all their equipment together. I told him to find experienced people for work as there are many who need the job and they are experienced too. They fixed a wrong thing. The price was okay. They start costing the money for the things they do like take off the baseboard or pull up something, etc. They haven?t cleaned the commode yet. He lifted the commode up and turned the water on. I then had to stop the water. I did as much as I could to help the man. My son told me I would need another piece of tubing to fit between the commode and the wall because every time he hooked one up it was leaking. He wanted to do everything in a cheaper way and leave so we had a leaky commode. I did not like a kid doing the job. He was also making the kid work for many hours which was against the child labor act. It was a pretty good deal but it didn?t work out. We had used someone from Wilson for wood flooring and he did an excellent job but this time it wasn?t professional work. He did not let me watch the job too.

I am reading this for the first time since there are no notes on this job to let me know what took place so i do not know how to respond to this post but seems to be all about a 16 year old being on the job with the installer. I was not aware of this and do not allow this but they are independent contractors and we have no control of who they hire to help them on their jobs, we can only suggest them not to use 16 yr olds. Again we do not have employee installers they are INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS!
