Mr Handyman of Charleston and Summerville

For the leaky window, a bead of clear caulk was installed where the handyman thought it should go. This leak was the first in 10 years on a 10 year old house. The leak occurred on the day when tornadoes hit the state, no tornado here but very windy. Leak probably caused by the wind, but hard to tell. I guess we’ll see if that was it. The sticky door was fixed in moments, no waiting to tell for that, it works great now with no sticking. Also of note, I called on a Tuesday and they were here the next day.

This is solely based off of my service. I backed into someone’s mailbox and had to replace it. I, as the customer, provided everything needed to replace the mailbox. So I think $205 to remove the broken post from the hole, replace with provided post and provided concrete was ridiculous. The fact that it cost $85 before they do any work(just to give an estimate) is ridiculous. So thank you but I will just YouTube anything from now on. Never again.

The install went fine. Will use again.

Carpenter was very good. We would hire him again. He was very professional. Parts cost less than $30. Time spent with travel was around 2 hrs and 30 minutes.

John Barba was very professional and punctual. He showed before scheduled appointment (a plus). He provided is professional opinion on service rendered. Great job!

Contacted their customer service line and explained that I had purchased a over head storage rack for my garage and would like an estimate to install. The young woman stated that it was an $85 fee just for the estimate but if I decided the same day to use them they would waive the fee however there was a $185 minimum. When I politely said no thanks she laughed and hung up on me. Talk about horrible customer service.

They came the same day I contacted them and they were very professional but friendly. They did an awesome job!

Initial phone contact took a couple of days to get back with me. They requested photos to help hasten the estimate time. Sent photos of the work needed to be done and didn't hear from them for a week. They called back and asked if I still wanted an estimate. Yes I did. A couple of days later one of their repair folks left me a message. I replied to the message and as of 4/21, still nothing. Would not recomend.

He provided the work I had needed to have done, without a major expense.

This company wanted me to pay an hour's worth of labor to receive an estimate for the job. This is not a job that required a diagnosis which I would gladly pay for. I only needed a ceiling fan installed so they should have been able to estimate how long this job would take.

They did show up on time. They did make sure to lay down some plastic sheets to protect any items and floor areas from getting dusty during their work and made sure to clean up after they finished their work.

Excellent! The job entailed cabinetry, plumbing and electrical work. Everyone was on time, very professional, cleaned up and hauled away all debris, and came in well below the original estimate! We would definitely use Mr. Handyman's services again.

Very well. All work was performed perfectly except for the back porch doors. They could not be fixed without further damage. We would need to purchase steel doors to replace them. We know this is correct because the person who I stalled the doors also struggled to fix the sag.

It did not go. They would not even quote me unless I paid 50.00. So basically they could over charge me and I would feel compelled to pay it to get my 50.00 back.

I like that they come when they say they're going to come which is very unusual in Charleston. You know their prices ahead of time because it's an hourly rate.

Where to begin. I was on the phone setting up the service for about 45 minutes the day before. I was never once to take a photo or asked specifics about any of the jobs scheduled. The tech calls me 30 min before arrival (which was not as scheduled but was early so I'm good with that) he proceeds to tell me that he has no caulk on his truck and if I would go to Loew's to pick it up. When I told him that was not possible as well, I'm busy at work etc he proceeded to tell me he would go pick it up but I would be charged for his time driving to Loews. Understand these guys charge $168 per HOUR!!! Well I obviously told him not to come because I'm not even paying the almighty $168 per hour to drive to Lowe's. So I call the office and Robert whom I Brooked the appointment with initially tells me "Sir I don't know who you are we don't have you on the books". After convicing him that I am in fact "On the books" and him finally finding me, he then proceeds to argue with me about the materials and how it's my responsibility to let them know what they need and to make sure it's on there truck. In short BIG FEES, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Your not that desperate for home repair save yourself and find someonelse.

Surprise!! I was told that the one hour would be $168 but at the end he added almost $20 more for "parts used" in other words the blade on his saw and the surface of the plane he used for the door. RIPOFF. The new refrigerator had been delivered and was sitting in the middle of the kitchen so we didn't have time to look around and had to go with a company like this but I would not again. The price was ridiculous.

When he put the toilet back, he had only put in a flange support and it continued leaking. I was advised by professionals that I was overcharged for the work that was done.
