Fine! Arrived on time. Had me look at what they were going to do in the master bathroom and then asked me to look at the work when it was completed. Same with the kitchen. Sent me a detailed estimate and stuck with that estimate when all was complete.

He and his assistant Brandon were very low-key and efficient and a pleasure to have working in our home. Mike was clear even before he came out to us about what his charges would be so there were no surprises. He is a great problem-solver and I was happy with how he resolved each of the issues I'd asked about. And, his work looks great and works perfectly. Also, both Mike and Brandon were very neat and cleaned up after they were done. Mike documented his jobs completely so that both he and I would have an easy reference for the work he'd done on each of the two visits. He is very thorough and I appreciated his professionalism. I'm very happy with Mike's work and would definitely have him back.

Mike was on time and very efficient. After he finished with the breaker, he inspected the RV plug and recommended that it be replaced so it didn't short out the new outlet/breaker. He had a plug with him and replaced it that same visit.

My wife and I had purchased a home about two months ago and all was well until very recently when we began noticing flickering and dimming lights, and appliances that began running on much lower power for no apparent reason. This culminated in a surge suppressor meltdown at about two in the morning -- something we have never experienced -- which convinced us that we had to find an electrician. On Christmas Eve. After two in the morning. Being an Angies List member, my first thought was to search here for someone who could fix this problem.So I found a company named Miscellaneous Electrical Services. Not only is "Miscellaneous" an Angies List Super Service Award winner for 2013, but going all the way back to 2009 as well. Not THAT sounds like the place I want to turn to for help. I figured, hey, I'll call now and leave a message, and wait til the morning. Well, as it turns out, the man behind Miscellaneous Electrical -- Mike-- answers his phone. At two in the morning. On Christmas Eve. What is more, he not only had a detailed and thoroughly professional conversation about a problem which plainly had scared the heck out of my wife and I, but he agreed to come down that very morning and take a look. Again, can I repeat myself: this was Christmas Eve we're talking about. Later that same morning, as promised, Mike rolled up in his truck, introduced himself, and went right to work diagnosing the problem. In less than 30 minutes, he had isolated the problem and had carefully dug up the ground where the ground wires went from the meter to where the grounding rod was buried. As he explained, those two items are supposed to be clamped together but they were not. This was the cause for all the mysterious -- and scary -- events which we had experienced. Mike made his repairs, carefully replaced the soil, then had me test it out by turning on everything in our house at once. Presto! it worked. everything worked... no dimming, no flickering, no low powering, none of it. Afterwards, Mike wrote up as part of his invoice a very detailed description of all the steps he had taken, including our initial phone conversation. He was polite, friendly and 100% professional throughout. Based on my experience, if you need electrical work done swiftly and efficiently by a man who clearly loves helping people as much as he enjoys his work, save yourself some time: call Miscellaneous!

Mike was able to make the initial diagnostic call the same day I phoned. Once the new part came in, he returned with 3 additional helpers. The part that needed to be replaced was at the 25 ft ceiling level. They were extremely careful and very efficient with moving our furniture and erecting and dismantling the necessary scaffolding. The job was done very professionally and in a very timely fashion.

Miscellaneous Electrical Services installed a new light fixture over the sink in the laundry room. They also replaced the spot light fixture on the garage. They were very professional and courteous. They arrived on time and completed the work in a timely manner. They explained the cost upfront and recommended which light fixture would be brightest in the laundry room.

My outdoor outlets at my new home didn't work. Mike came over, checked them out, checked out all the GFIs and discovered the garage GFI was faulty. He repaired it for me, explaining as he went what was going on. I'd recommend him to anyone, he showed up right when he said he would (I called just to confirm and he was in the driveway), fixed it for me, gave me a few more tips about things I should do just to make my breaker box safer, and wasn't overpriced at all.

It went great. Mike called me back after I emailed him the list of items that needed addressing. He picked up the supplies and arrived on time, as he said he would. Cleaned up afterwards and you would never know he was here. Polite and knowledgeable. Made suggestions and called the HVAC company to consult with them regarding specs for the new Condenser Unit that Burke had installed. All when great. I now know why Mike was given your award. In fact, I will give my clients a membership to Angie's List at each Closing. What a great gift.

Six weeks after I first called and I'm back to looking for an electrician. Left a message requesting an estimate on 8/13. Mike called back within a couple of hours and we agreed he could come by when he was in Mount Pleasant, which turned out to be a week later. No problem. He visited on 8/21 and we went over a number of items from new ceiling fans, new porch lights, bad plug issues and a new outlet for the backyard. He said he had a number of other estimates and it would take a few days. These are all things I've been meaning to get to for years, so no rush. After 3 weeks of nothing, I sent an email on the 9/17. A week later and there's been no response. Seemed like a nice, knowledgeable guy and, judging by other reviews, a company I would have liked to use, but I'm just not into chasing people around so I can give them money. I wasn't even comparing estimates -just waiting to give a thumbs up. Even a note declining to do the work would have been fine. Moving on to another provider...

Mike is very professional and all electrical work is always completed to code. He does an excellent job. We have used Mike in the past and will use him again in the future.

Great service!! Had to reschedule due to conflicts, but Mike provided PHENOMENAL communication about delays, etc. without me having to track him down. This is rare in contractors, and a characteristic that I value equally with quality of work. Wish more contractors were like Mike. I highly recommend him!

This is the second time Mike has performed work for us. He is professional, punctual and highly skilled. Mike installed a new outlet above our fireplace in preparation for a new flat screen. Highly recommended and will use him again in the future.

It was a very difficult job. They actually arrived here about 10 o clock in the morning and left about 2 o clock the afternoon. It involved a very high latter and I thought that for the job thy did the price they charged was reasonable. I have used them several times in the past and I find that they are always reasonable, punctual and they do good work. I don't have anything to complain about.

Nice guy, great service. Mike is prompt, professional and very pleasant. He tested both appliances to see if they were in working order and worked quickly to keep the cost down. We'll be using him again.

Mike is friendly and knowledgeable. I was fortunate to get him on short notice because he happened to be a short distance away when I called him and our job was not too big. Because he is good at what he does, he is in demand and has a busy schedule. I would say that if you want the job done right he would be worth the wait.

Showed up to provide estimate. He walked through the requested work and talked through any issues and obstacles. He provided a timely estimate and communicated when he was available to do the job. On the day before the work was done, he indicated when he would arrive. Once on site, he started working immediately and planning what needed to be done step by step. He worked efficiently throughout the day and completed the job on-time. The job site was always cleaned up and he constantly alerted me to any potential hazards which were important because I have 3 young kids. I was very pleased with the quality of his work and his efforts to do a good job.

He was great. Called to come by and work up the estimate. Kept in touch at all times, work was done great. Did the lights exactly how i wanted them. Very professional. kept in contact and let me know everything that was going on throughout the entire process.

Mike suggested something that we did and we were very happy with the results. It was difficult and he did several lights, and some of it was not easy problems to solve. We wanted a light from our kitchen to be taken out and put in the front hallway, to shine on pictures that my husband had put up and because the hallway was dark, and so to get the right lighting, it took a lot of talk and discussion. He was really good and the price was very fair. I liked his straightforwardness and when we wanted to do something, he was very clear in telling us that he could do it that way but there was another way of doing it and explained why his way would be the better way of doing it, so he was very knowledgeable. He was punctual, he knew his stuff and he was very professional.

Arrived on time and completed the work timely. Was very courteous and very quite. Cleaned up behind themselves.

Called Mike to have him come out and fix an issue where our smoke detectors would intermittently go off for a second or two. He offered to come out and fix it, but since it was a simple fix and I was willing to fix it myself he was very helpful in letting me know how I could do it myself and what to get.
