Description of Work: I had the smoke alarm system replaced and updated.

Description of Work: proceeded with removing the improperly connected 50 Amp range receptacle that was not |even mounted to the floor or anything. After removing the surface mountable receptacle I |then secured the outlet box firmly inside the wall behind the downdraft vent fan assembly. |I installed a 2-gang blank off plate with an 3/4" knockout opening with the whip cable |connected to it after connecting the wires of the whip cable to the wires inside the outlet |box and also connected the other end of the whip connector to the back connection point |of the new dual fuel range. I turned on the breaker which feeds this range circuit to make |sure that it was connected correctly and that the electrical portion of the new range would |work correctly and it did. Then I turned the breaker back off until the appliance technician |could connect the gas piping and the inspection could take place by Dorchester County. Description of Work: Mike came on a Saturday. We had a partial power outage in front porch and bedroom living room. Mike was so professional, taking time with me to explain what and why he was doing every step of the way. He found the problem in a loose wire in a bedroom outlet. Fixed in no time.

Description of Work: A previous contractor said my house needed an electric overhaul to the tune of $2,500. So I called Misc. Electric. Mike did a thorough review, answered all my questions, and fixed the problem for $250. Exceptional.

Description of Work: Circuit breaker for outdoor HVAC unit kept tripping. Mike checked it and found a short in the outside disconnect. He needed to replace the disconnect and reroute the circuit.

Description of Work: Troubleshot electrical outlets that were either not working or working intermittantly. Mike ended up tightening some loose wires on one one outlet and replaced a gfci receptacle on another. The gfci replacement resolved the problem for two different outlets. | |Mike was very flexible and professional. He was great about working with our tenant since we live out of state.

Description of Work: Heard a noise coming from the circuit breaker box while the HVAC was running. Called Mike and he made time in between other appts to come out and take a look. He determined that the HVAC was pulling about twice the current it should be doing. He offered to call our HVAC folks and talked to them and they then came out and found that the installers had doubled up the heat strips, causing it to pull double the current. They fixed the problem. Mike was super helpful and decided it would be best for the HVAC folks to fix the problem since the system was under warranty. He made time to come out right away after I called him, even though he had a full schedule.

Description of Work: The problem was resolved without any work involved. Mike asked a simple question that resolved the problem. As a result, he did not charge the usual service call fee. Will definitely use him in the future.

Description of Work: He replaced my dedicated washer electric receptical with a double receptical so my family can also use our deep freezer in the house where the washer and dryer rest.

Description of Work: Mike Woods was very professional, efficient, responsive, & punctual. I have an old house & had a light start surging in my kitchen upstairs. The next thing I know the receptacles aren't working in my bedroom or my living room. Mike was able to troubleshoot the problem, fix it, & gave me a great price. I recommend him highly. I have dealt with people in the construction & repair business, have been very disappointed in the quality of the work, don't even give you the decency of a phone call that they aren't coming when they say they are, put the homeowner off to another day, poor communication skills. I found Mike Woods to be none of these characteristic traits. I will use him again, very strongly recommend his services. Lynn

Description of Work: Mike repaired a socket in our dining room chandelier that was not working.

Description of Work: Mike installed 5 ceiling fans throughout my house. One in each of the 4 bedrooms and 1 in the screened in porch area. Mike did an outstanding job with the wiring method he uses. He wired the fans so that the light and fan can be controlled separately from wall switches. Mike installed a dimmer switch on the ceiling fan in the Master Bedroom, too. It made it nice to be able to control the amount of light needed in the bedroom. Mike is very conscientious of the proper lights to be used with the ceiling fans. He explained that there are bulbs that should be used with ceiling fans vs. regular light bulbs due to the vibrations from the ceiling fans. This extends the bulb use life in the ceiling fans.

Description of Work: Rewired new kitchen, grounded old outlets, and installed all new lighting throughout the house.
