Leaf Filter Gutter Protection

I did not meet the salesmen but my elderly mother made a call to this company and two salesmen came to her home at 7 PM. While she told me how nice they were and how impressed she was with the leaf filter product, I am upset that they were relentless with their attempt to tell her she needed new gutters and downspouts and upselling her with similar products she absolutely did NOT need. She moved into the house just a few months ago and the house was inspected. The roof had been replaced less than 5 years ago and another gutter guard is on the gutters. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the roof or the gutters and downspouts. She just wanted a quote for the filters. Luckily, she called me to get my opinion while the salesmen were there. She said the product looked really good (I'm sure it is), and that they would replace the gutters, downpouts, etc. and were giving her 2 discounts, one of which was a senior discount of $5,000. I asked her what the bottom line was and she said $12,000. I told her no way, she didn't need all that nor did she need new guards having spent $5,000 just a few weeks ago to have about 7 super tall pine trees cut down that were hanging close to the house. Falling leaves would be much less of an issue. My husband is in the construction business and he added that the price and unnecessary gutter and downspout replacement is absolutely excessive. These sales guys pitched their products relentlessly and needlessly. Furthermore, they told my mother in order to get the deal, she would have to sign the papers tonight. RED FLAG! They were there from until almost 10:30 PM! TOTALLY unacceptable! She did tell them no and while my mother enjoys endless friendly conversations, especially based on her comment, "They were really nice men," they aren't there to make friends with my 80-year-old mother. Once she declined, they needed to leave. My mother is no pushover, she is distrustful and has always been very cautious about how she spends her money but these guys were too good at pushing their sales pitch and almost got her to spend $12,000 on unnecessary "upgrades".This infuriates me because I don't care how nice someone is, if they are relentless about trying to upsell an elderly person or anyone for that matter, the word "nice" isn't the adjective I would use to describe them.

Prompt, professional service from the initial in home estimate to the actual work performed. The sales rep was friendly and informative and not pushy. Once we agreed on a price, he set the installation date for 2 days later. All work was performed in a timely and professional manner. The product works perfectly. We had leaves blocking the gutters. The tech cleaned out the gutters and made sure all seams were sealed properly. The leaves now fall onto the gutter filter and slide right off. Problem solved. Yes, you'll need to spend some money but it's well worth it to prevent leaves from blocking the gutters and creating possible water damage.
