Hogg Custom Painting

He was hired to create a 10 x 20 patio in our backyard. He started good and we discussed adding stairs and a concrete walkway to the front yard. He said it would be beneficial to do both at the same time to save on the concrete. We also contracted to do other jobs while he was there. He removed two satellite dishes and removed some concrete pavers to level them. The other jobs were done satisfactory, but he wanted money before each job. The last week, he was supposed to finish by Friday at the latest. He didn't arrived on the job until Friday and then he wouldn't finish the concrete job without raising the price. We had already paid him for more work than was performed and we didn't want to take a chance on giving more money until the work was finished. He wanted us to call the concrete company and pay for him. This made us very nervous. Pictures show how he left the job (notice 2 x 4) depth. He also left the original dirt in a tarp on our lawn for several weeks. He was supposed to remove. We decided to pay someone else to finish the concrete job. The new contractor had to dig the patio and walkway areas to make sure the concrete met the required thickness. FYI - The new contractor didn't take any money until the job was 100% done and we were 100% satisfied.
