Fresh Coat Painters

Jimmy and his team were a delight to work with, from start to finish. Jimmy came to our home and gave a very detailed bid for several painting projects around our home. In addition, he followed up promptly through email and phone contact. On the day of the job the entire team arrived exactly on time, moved all furniture to paint the room and set about their business. The painting project took about half a day and they did a great job. Prior to the team leaving Jimmy walked through the project with me to make certain that I was pleased with the results and to verify that all the furniture had been returned to its proper spot. The entire experience went smoothly and we will be using Jimmy for all our painting needs in the future.

His service was prompt in scheduling the estimate. There was a slight delay (1 week) in scheduling but I will take credit for half of that since I do not live in town and was not able to connect with Jimmy and my property manager. He was also tied up with a job that was delayed by rain. Once they got to work they were on time, kept the place clean and did a beautiful job. My first estimate did not include all the rooms but Jimmy took the time to call and check that we didn't overlook those rooms. Again, I do not live locally and was relying on my property manager. She said absolutely we should finish. I also added on a powerwash of the exterior. Jimmy was responsive to my inquiries. Property Manager says it looks like new inside. We are hoping to sell it and create that beautiful new home for someone else. She deals in real estate every day and said she would hire Jimmy next time she needs painting done. Definitely would hire Fresh Coat again. Thank you!

This was a time sensitive job and Jim was all over it. He was on time and he and his workers were very professional.

We are so glad we chose FreshCoat to complete this job. Jimmy (the owner) could not have been any nicer and he was very understanding and helpful as we struggled to pick a color. The two primary painters (Greg and Derrick) could not have been more professional and it showed in how careful and diligent they were. There are lots of tight spaces and turns in this house which they managed to navigate very nicely. They took great care to ensure both the floors and furniture were completely covered and they cleaned up all traces of their work before leaving. During this whole process they were also quick to address the few concerns we had and always kept us appraised of their progress. Besides the outstanding quality of the job the thing that most impressed us was how Jimmy and his team made us feel like our house was the most important job they had and that attitude is reflected in how great the walls and trim look. They pay so much attention to detail that during the walkthru and after one week we have not found even the slightest imperfection or blemish. Even though my wife and I are currently retired and on a fixed income we look at how much nicer our home looks and it is easy to see that this was money well spent. Jimmy delivered everything he promised and more. We have already recommended them to friends, family and neighbors.

Fresh Coat is an excellent company! They were very professional, punctunal and were even able to match a price from another company. I would highly recommend them and will use them again in the future.

They were able to do it within a day. They gave us a discount on that because one of their clients has cancelled and they were free for the day. It was good. The only complaint that we have is that they got paint on the door of one of our bathrooms. We didn't notice it until after. They were quick. We don't have any complaints. The job looked good. They were good. They were average-priced.

I can't say enough great things about Jimmy and his Fresh Coat team. He was prompt with his estimate, which was reasonable for the job. Jimmy was watching the weather, as rain was forecasted. His crew of four got the job done in 1 1/2 days, before the next wave of rain was due to come in. They were very careful with my property, picking up their items at the end of day 1. They arrived promptly at 8 am both days and worked continuously until the job was done. They identified a few extra rotten boards than we initially saw, but didn't charge any more to repair them. They caulked and put on 2 coats of the paint I requested, and did an absolutely stellar job! Thank You Jimmy, and your Fresh Coat Team!! I will definitely have you do all my painting.

They arrived on time with all materials and got to work right away. There were 2 men and they were able to finish the job in about 20hrs (2 1/2 days).

Jimmy took the job on very short notice and his crew showed up the next morning...right on time. They got right to work and were extremely polite, professional, careful and neat. The paintwork was exceptional...very even and smooth (not a drip, sag, flash or brush mark). I didn't get the chance to clear out my daughter's bedroom before they painted the ceiling...not a speck on the carpet or furniture. Jimmy's crew was the best paining work I've ever seen. I thought I was going to pay $420+ for the work (which would have been well worth it) but I was amazed to hear that Jimmy gave us a substantial discount. I will never use another painter again as long as I live in the Charleston area.

This was the best experience we've ever had with a sub-contractor, bar none! We were very impressed with Jimmy Zeski, the owner, as well as the employees that did the actual painting. The crew showed up on time every day and did excellent work, including prep, painting and clean-up. The price was very competitive, but the quality of the work was even more impressive! Freshcoat-Summerville is a great company!

I have upgraded the review on this provider based on a subsequent, highly professional, customer service call. It is my belief now the owner had a breakdown not at his level, but at an administrative level which he has now fully corrected. As such, I believe he deserves a better review than what I gave him. IN the interest of keeping the reviews real, below you will read my original review of what happened because that is what happened. Still, the owner made very effort to make it right and I could see his integrity and sincerity and therefore am happy to upgrade his review. Below is what happened though again, this has since been corrected which I admire and appreciate!!! As noted, the provider did not show up for a confirmed appointment to give us a quote. We reconfirmed the appointment the day prior and were told yes, they would be here for an early morning bid. We do not live in this property full time and drove from an hour away to be at the property needing painting. We received a last minute message saying there was a mistake from "the office" that they don't cover the beach area and that they would not be showing up for the appointment to give a quote. Mind you, this appointment was confirmed TWICE and we confirmed TWICE they could or would service this area. Hence, the poor review. Don't waste my time and have me get up early to meet you only for you to decide last minute you aren't coming. BAD, BAD business and customer service. AND guess what? I remodel NUMEROUS homes in Summerville & North Charleston. I flip houses. You'll NEVER get my business in the future and I'll be sure to tell my fellow real estate professionals to avoid you because of this unprofessional manner in which you handled the simple task of giving a quote and how your office has zero idea what areas you really will cover in the region. Too bad.

The owner of Fresh Coat came out and did the estimate and within a week he had a team of painters (two full time and two part time) including an appointed foreman, come out to tackle the paint job. The painters were very professional, laid down a paper tarp as well as a cloth tarp throughout the areas to be painted (all were taped down, so the area was prepped very well). The whole project took two days. They did a nice job cleaning up inside. There were a couple small spots that were missed on the ceiling, but they immediately addressed those spots when they were pointed out to them. In all fairness, the lighting in our house is not great by mid-afternoon, and there are shadows that are cast. I did find some paint splatters that had gotten through the paper that was laid down on the hardwood floors, but it was nothing significant and was easy to take care and remove. The painters were very personable, respectful, and hardworking, taking only a break for lunch. After the job was complete, I did notice a couple spots where the paint had bled onto another color in the kitchen. When the owner came to settle up with me, I pointed that out and he credited me for a gallon of paint (which was generous because I wouldn't have needed much paint at all, just a touch up). We also noticed some paint which had leaked onto our road in front of our house, and he had his workers come back and power wash the paint off the street. I was very pleased with the work ethics of the employer and employees of this company. They take great pride in their work. I would hire them again. From what I read on Angie's list, there are companies that might be a bit cheaper, but this painting company is bonded and can be trusted.

The work took several weeks. They did not remove all of the light fixtures to remove the popcorn under the fixtures and towards the end they were just trying to get done as we wanted our house back. I had to remove several fixtures to clean them up after they left.

They gave me a base price and if it went over there was an hourly (?) rate, and it did go over more than I anticipated. All of the painting came out good except where he had to cut in the paint around some of the wood door frames.

Very responsive, happy with the results. Minor issues were resolved satisfactorily. I will be doing more work on our home and will definitely consider using them again.

Prompt with estimate. You could set your watch by Jimmy. He was right on time. Jimmy did the power wash himself. Frank the painter did a great job!

For most of the job there were 3 to 5 painters doing the work. Communication between them was lacking and on one day, after they had run out of paint to continue working one of the painters had a temper tantrum, quit and left the house only to return the next day. There were a couple of occasions when it was obvious that some of the painters did not get along with the others. While, the owner stated I could call and have them come back to correct mistakes, which they did one time, I have had to clean up drips and paint splatter several times because in some cases they did not use drop cloths and painters tape. I am not going to call to have them return to correct these issues as in the long run it is not worth my time. After receiving different estimates, I chose Fresh Coat to paint our new home. I liked Jimmy Zeski's professionalism, enthusiasm and competitive price. The crew, head up by foreman Kevin, did an outstanding job. They were punctual, very courteous and meticulous in their work. Overall, our experience with Jimmy and Fresh Coat was excellent. He came highly recommended by references. He visited our home, presented himself in a very professional and pleasant manner. He estimated the cost to paint the areas we indicated and promptly emailed a detailed proposal. Because we will be painting most of the interior of the house, he was kind enough to break down the areas and price them accordingly. Over the years, we have hired many painters, but none have risen to the level of professionalism, thoroughness, and quality of work that we have received from Jimmy/Fresh Coat.

I have to say that after being homeowners for 42 yrs we have had alot of repairmen, painter's etc. do work for us!! In all that time we have never had anyone more punctual or polite than the men that work for Jimmy...Danny who I guess was the "foreman" of this job was knowledgeable,. polite and a pleasure to work with!!! Kenny was equally as pleasant...punctual...knowledgeable with a little comical relief thrown in (when needed!!! LOL There were a few other workers from time to time and everyone seemed equally as conscientious and punctual...the worksite was cleaned every night so that we could carry on since we were living here while all of this was going on!! For the most part everyting went off without a hitch!! I have to say that a company like this has been needed for many years!! Sometimes with this type of work it is easy to hire "fly by night" contractors that you know nothing about and have no way of feelinf safe about the people in your house...that is NOT the case when dealing with.... FRESH COAT and JIMI ZESKI!! THANK YOU!! WE FEEL LIKE WE HAVE A NEW HOUSE!!
