Build and Design

We ended up having to let this contractor go mid job. Every day they stayed came with new issues. We agreed that his idea of quality was more than a little skewed and it became clear as the job progressed that his crew was not truly qualified to carry out the job that was bid upon. Also we ended up having to micromanage the job from the beginning after we discovered them covering up with sheetrock repairs not made to wood damage around a window. This repair was clearly included in the contract, and at that point our trust began to wane. As the job continued there were numerous times that we had to discuss cut corners and shoddy work. The owner was responsive to this but then would continue on with the practice which eventually created more problems. We also have some damage to a couple of things that were not in the direct work area caused by carelessness. We are now in the process of working with a new contractor to repair faulty and incorrectly completed work, as well as additional cover-ups that have come to light from work not fully completed as contracted. We are fortunate most (not all) of what was done can be re-done correctly, with additional dollars and time of course. It is sad that if this company had been capable, or would have chosen to do their work properly the first time on numerous aspects of this job it would have been completed on time and we would be happy customers. We were foolish to trust this company so blindly and foolish to pay them again upon release. Please beware if you hire this company. Photos attached are primarily of the "door adjustment" done to compensate for removal of paneled wall and addition of new sheetrock. Once disassembled to re-do this appears to have been done completely with caulk! There was another window done the same way. This incident was the final straw that prompted us to release Build and Design from further services.
