Showed up on time and were very professional. Only minor gripe is the quality of wood. A lot of it was irregularly shaped and some of it was really long so it didn’t fit in the fireplace without cutting it again

I own houses in Summerville but live somewhere else so I had neighbors give a good referral for Big Head Chuck. The price was good. On the first job with the pine tree one of his workers was killed, yes he died, very sad, you can google the story. On the second job they cut the tree but threw all the branches behind the fence. I never imagined to check behind the fence to see if they did not remove the debris. My tenant told months later that they removed a section of fence and just took all the debris out behind the fence that re-erected the fence. I have contacted Chuck several times but the debris is still behind the fence.

We called this company, and after several other tree services, Big Head Chucks gave us the best estimate. They were very pleasant, answering all my questions. About 6 or 7 men came to remove two large, tall trees from near our house. They worked from 8:30 AM to about 6:00PM cutting, cleaning, and stump removing, on a very hot day. They were professional, taking their time making sure the trees fell the right way, once they were cut down. They cleaned everything up and hauled it away. We were very pleased with Big Head Chucks service and price. You do not have to pay until job is done correctly. The contract has a signature section that you sign, once you have inspected the site and pay, guaranteeing a great job. Thanks a million!!!

No one expects to have contractors exceed their expectations, but that is exactly what Big Head Chuck's company did. They arrived when they said they would, the crew were polite and even fun! The explained every detail. Worked non-stop in this hot July weather. Came back the next day since we added another tree to take down due to finding out it was damaged and rotting. At 7:00 am I heard the buzz of the chain saw and looked out my window to find them at the top of a 60 ft tree and working away. Unbelievable customer service. I can't say enough about this company. Other than the sawdust from the stump grinding you would never know they had been here... Everything was cleaned up and left like they found it. Minus the trees. This tree service ROCKS!!!

Great service and I'd highly recommend. Very professional. They cleaned up all the debris in our yard and the neighbors yard. I obtained 4 different estimates and they had the price.

The tree trimming went well but they did not finish one tree in the front. I specifically wanted that tree trimmed so it wouldn't hang over the driveway. I mentioned it to the foreman before they left and he said they were trying to make the shape of the tree look nice, to give a nice appearance to the front yard. Later, the owner came by for a walk-through and I told him I was not happy about it. He assured me he would send someone back to take care of it. It has been almost two months and they have not been back. First I got excuses and then he stopped responding altogether. Also, when they trimmed some vines, they damaged my chain link fence. I mentioned it to him and he has not offered to do anything to fix it or pay for it to be fixed. The original work was good but their customer service is terrible. They do not keep their word nor do they care about the customer. Typical situation where they got paid and that's the last you'll hear from them.

I called to get an estimate. He said he would be out the next day. I waited around all day but he never showed nor did I ever get a phone call. I called 2 other tree companies. About a week later I called him back to give the benifit of the doubt, or possibly see what happened. He apologized and said he would come by the very next day. Well..... that never happened. I can't speak about his work nor if his price is reasonable because I have nothing to go by. I can say that he stood me up and never even called me to say he wasn't coming..... TWICE. I personally don't have time to sit around all day waiting on someone to not even show. My time is valuable and the fact that he doesn't seem to care makes his business look unprofessional. What's sad is he was recommended to me by some friends on facebook.

This is why I hired Big Head Chuck's Tree Service & Firewood. Earlier this year I wanted to have some large maple trees removed from our backyard and have the stumps ground down. The trees were located on opposite sides of the house. These trees were out of control and showed signs of dying. I was afraid they would eventually fall and strike our house under the right bad weather conditions. Not to mention the roots were destroying the ground around the base of the trees. In addition to the maple trees, I had a couple of smaller trees that had grown up against the fence line I wanted taken care as well. While trying to find someone to do the work I called many phone numbers only to find the numbers disconnected and apparently no longer in business. The few companies I was able to get a hold of and who agreed to come out for an estimate never showed up. The people that gave me an estimate were either too expensive, or they couldn't do the job. A couple people gave me the creeps, were inexperienced, or appeared to be a fly-by-night business. Then I contacted Chuck Lester at Big Head Chuck's Tree Service & Firewood. Chuck came to my home and we talked about what I wanted done. He walked around my backyard and surveyed the job. Chuck told me about the company and let me know that they carry workman's compensation insurance and liability insurance along with the proper licensing to assure property owners of his commitment to his work. He also made a sketch of the work to be done. After a short visit we agreed on a wonderful price. I asked if he took credit cards. I was advised they accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Debit, Cash & Check. Chuck said he would call me to setup a time to start the work. On November 11th, the crew arrived on time and removed the two big trees and some smaller ones. The ground was soggy from a recent rain. After finishing for the day the crew cleaned up and placed all debris on the side of the road to be removed. The crew leader Ray told me they would come back on Friday to grind down the stumps. On Friday, November 13th, the crew returned and completed the job. This company is very reasonably priced, professional, and fair. They are very accommodating. The work crew is dedicated to doing a good job and polite. I will hire Big Head Chuck's Tree Service & Firewood again without hesitation. AWESOME!!!! It is really hard to convey how thankful and happy I am with this service. They were able to connect me with an arborist to assess the trees and understood the requirements to have the permission of both the county and the homeowners association. They reviewed the project and even after finding a 4 ft long beehive within one of the trees, assured me that they were trained to handle it. They contacted a bee keeper and coordinated the relocation of the hive for me. They spent over 6 hours on the job with a crew of at least 8 fully equipped with the equipment and trucks to get the job done. The crew was cheerful, informative, and stayed focused on the job at hand. Both trees were cut down and completely removed without incident (other than a few big stings) Well worth the money! All of the team members were extremely polite and kind in keeping me informed. Amazing service and professional from start to finish. It was an honor to watch the team in action.

Please see above. I had 2 trees with limbs touching my roof. They didn't just remove the offending limbs. They evened the trees up so that they would not be lopsided and pose a hazard to any structure in a wind storm. We had just had a storm 3 nights before and a large limb of a tree in my neighbor's yard had partly broken loose and was tipped down and touching my yard. When I went out back after the crew had left, I saw that they had removed that as well! Above and beyond what they were hired for. It's gratifying to see a company that has such customer service minded people working for them. And the boss wasn't even there! He didn't come by until about an hour later to make sure I was satisfied before I paid him. I was also impressed with the safety consciousness of the entire crew! The safety steps they used and the teamwork was a marvel.

Chuck had told me on two occasions that he had spoken to the Crowfield Homeowners Association for approval of removal of the two trees. Later on he told me that he did not get a chance to speak with the association. I have now been fined $1,000.00 from the association for not getting the approval for the removal of the trees. I am a senior citizen and will have to take the monies out of my next social security check or else they will place a lien on my home. This company rips off senior citizen. All Beware.....

After year after year of buying firewood on the roadsides in Mt Pleasant and always getting overcharged for green wood that won't burn I looked up firewood suppliers on Angie's List and went to Big Head Chucks. From my experience Big Head Chucks is by far the best place to get firewood.

Very good. Wood is neatly stacked outside. Already used wood from np both piles and appears to be properly seasoned and burning well.

I talked earlier this week with Chuck about getting some firewood. He informed me that they would deliver on Saturday and that someone would call me at 9 AM and again when they were near my home. Each and everything he promised he delivered. His guys did an excellent jobdelivering and setting up the wood. The quality of the wood is outstanding. Highly recommend them to anyone who's looking for quality firewood. The price was extremely reasonable. We purchased two loads and it cost $200.

They were very nice to deal with - it was scary seeing them get started and climbing so high up the trees but they were very good at what they did and seemed to always keep safety in mind. We would work with them again if we needed same service.

Chuck came by and gave me an awesome estimate listend to my concerns and gave me advice and options.He had a lot of rain delays and communication is is bit challenging. But...... His crew cleaned my propertyline front to back on 2 sides and thinned out a beautiful old myrtle. No damages, a little left over debris but no big deal, Friendly professional fast and safe. Great team of guys. Would not hesitate to hire again!!

I spoke to chuck made an appointment to come out and give me an estimate he agreed and never showed up and when I called to see what happened he never answered or call me to apologize for not showing up.

Chuck and his crew were incredibly professional, good natured and hard working. They took the time to clean up our yard even though they were coming back to finish the next day, which I found to be beyond expectation. They are a great group of guys that work well together to get the job done safely and efficiently. We needed two very large pine trees removed from between our house and the neighbors and they did a fantastic job of getting them out with no mishaps. Without a doubt I would hire them again and would recommend them without hesitation! You won't be sorry you hired them!!

We appreciated the professional service and the help. Were so glad to have the trees off our house and that the limbs and debris causing the unsafe conditions was out to the road for pickup. We think they did a great job and were very happy with their service. We referred him to friends who had an oak tree that was going to fall on their house, and they did work there yesterday when our friends weren't home. Our friends called last night to tell us what a wonderful job they had done and to thank us for the referral. We will be referring him to our neighbors and other friends as well and will call him for any more needed tree work.

Told us he would deliver firewood on Monday. We called him on Tuesday and he said he was backloged and we told him to deliver it to us on Wedensday. He didn't call to give us a time so we called him again later and he said that he was having trouble with equipment and he would call us in a few min. It is now Thursday and we still haven't heard from him or recieved the firewood. We found some from another person. If he couldn't do it he should of just told us and we could of looked elseware before now.

Smooth start....Chuck is a very nice guy.....Chuck has his crew get started and apparently left for the next job while relying on his young crew to finish up the job at my house.....I came home and one of my gutters was dented from a limb....Chuck wasn't aware of the dent and when I told him he said he would take care of it immediately. He was more upset that his crew didn't tell him...Chuck ended up knocking 200.00 the bill and we both agreed to the fix.....I would hire Chuck again but I would request that he be on the job to supervise the whole time.

After getting several estimates for the removal of trees in our yard, we chose Big Head Chuck's. Chuck was very quick to respond to our call. When he came by to give us an estimate, he was very thorough. He answered all of our questions, explained how the job would be done, told us where the felled trees would land, and he gave us a very reasonable price for the tree removal and the stump grinding. Chuck and his crew showed up right on time, and they worked all day to remove 4 large trees from our yard. He also trimmed a large limb, and sprayed the tree chips in our yard, so we could use them as mulch. The whole crew was very polite, and friendly. The stump grinding was done by a sub-contractor. It was somewhat disconcerting that the man doing the stump grinding put it off for a couple of days, but that was not the fault of Chuck and his crew. We are pleased with the job, and we will definitely use Big Head Chuck's again!

We just purchased our home a few weeks ago and found out we had rats in the attic, the exterminator believed they are gaining access through the trees. My daughter called Chuck to set up an estimate, his guys came over but could give us a specific price but told us to call chuck so I did and was given the estimate over the phone. I asked to be put on the schedule. I was given a day a few days away. No Chuck, I was given numerous dates. I have a multiply handicapped blind son who couldn't defend himself it the rats got into the house. I explained this to Chuck on numerous occasions. My daughter and Realtor wanted me to call someone else but I was trying to give this man the benefit of the doubt and kept waiting. He told me he would definitely be out Saturday, Saturday came and went so Monday I call again with my urgency and he said he would be out Wednesday. Today is Tuesday and not being able to take anymore after two weeks of being put off I called another tree service. I phoned Chuck to tell him to take me off the schedule I hired someone else. He said " I don't know where your from but down here our word means something". My word did too but I have mitigating circumstances and couldn't wait another two weeks on his word. I told him I wasn't arguing with him and thanked him and hung up only to have him call me back several times. I would not speak, I just hung up the phone. What kind of business is this that you call and harass people who cancel your service. We had nothing in writing and I gave this man more than two weeks to preform a service which he promised to be completed in a few days.
