Our gas company turned off the gas due to a leak in our gas line and told us we needed a plumber to fix it. We had never heard of this before, had never before had any "plumbing issues" and had no relationships with any plumbers. We started calling plumbers and Benjamin Franklin came to our rescue! They were professional, punctual, and efficient. We highly recommend them!

Bob came the same day I called and walked out on my roof from an upstairs window. Five minutes later he told me it was leaking at the relief valve, and he would look for the manufacturer and see if he could get a replacement part. Within 2 weeks he came back with a new valve and replaced it in 10 minutes. I was then charged $276 for the valve and $500 for climbing onto my roof to replace it. I was never warned ahead of the high cost of the valve or how much he would charge to replace it. I feel the cost was exorbitant for what was done! It certainly doesn't fit their standard rate shown on the invoice of $49-$135.

Water began filling up both tubs as well as both toilets were clogged. Called them on 7/28/2013 @ 10:15pm and made an appt with them for an appt. between 10am and 11am. (They would have come the night we called but it was late and my husband had to go to work very early the next morning). The plumbing tech - Benjamin - was running late but kept me updated, which I very much appreciated. Arriving around 1pm, he immediately explained the basic charges to me, noting that depending on what he found, we would discuss any additional charges before any work was done. Snaking the outside sewer drains fixed the problem. He also did a camera search through the drains to make sure there were no tree root problems (as I have several large trees in my yard), and did not charge me for the additional work it created. I appreciated his professionalism and pleasant personality. Before he left, each tub had been drained and the toilets were working perfectly, thank goodness!

2 plumbers called on the day they were to arrive and said they were running ahead of schedule. When they arrived, they looked at the kitchen faucet and said that the water connections on the shutoff valves were leaking also. One plumber wrote up the quote and went over the work with me and asked me to sign the quote. My first impression was that the price was high for just labor but we proceeded on. Total time from start to finish was just under 2 hrs. After they left, I was looking over the quote/receipt and it was confusing in that the labor per hour rate was not given or the cost for any materials used etc. The main focus was on all of the discounts that I was receiving and without them it would have cost over $800.00. If you use this contractor, be careful of ALL of the "extras" that they will try to sell you such as replacing water lines and valve assemblies.

Plumbing work has held up so far.
Description of Work: Replaced pipes that give out. Work was ok but they left a canister of gas in my garage that was leaking. We had the Gas co out here and they said it could have exploded because our hot water heater with a pilot light was right there. I called and let them know and the owner never even called to apologize. Even if he offered free services I wouldn't want them. My family's safety is more important. As a side note I will also say I didn't like the pressure the initial serviceman put on us. It's bad enough when you have pipes burst in the middle of the night, you don't need added stress at a time like that.

The toilet that was unclogged also had a crack/leak in the tank which the plumber didn't notice. The toilet that had the new seal was not tightened and still rocked after the plumber left. I called to let them know about the problems but they never called me back. I had to hire another plumber to replace the toilet that was unclogged.

He came out to fix a water leak in a yard pipe. He was to also install an outside faucet. He complained how hot it was to me while he was working. Six hours later the pipe ruptured. My yard was full of water. He never returned my calls. He charged me for the outside faucet, but never installed it. I had to call another company to fix the problem.
