Ash & T'S Consignment

We contacted "Ash and T's" around 4:30 PM on a Friday afternoon. We were desperate, as we had just learned that the movers we had hired to move us around lunch time were not coming. "All My Sons" kept telling us, each time that we called, that they were running late, and finally at 4:30 PM, they told us they were not coming at all! When I reached "Ash and T's," by phone, I explained our situation, and they said they would see what they could do... Thirty minutes later, we had two wonderful young college students at our door, and they wasted no time! They did not finish until after 8:00 PM that night, but they stuck with us, and never complained the first time. They did an excellent job! They were very polite, positive, and professional! They truly were a "God-send!" My elderly mother fell in love with them! We would highly recommend Ash and T's if you ever need furniture moved! Because it was Friday afternoon, and we were in such a bind, they could have charged us almost any rate, and we were desperate enough to pay it... However, they only charged $80.00 an hour, and All My Sons was going to charge $109.00 an hour (plus 12% fuel fee)! Thank God for Ash and T's!!!

Horrible...your worst nightmare. We were given an estimate of two days with 4 packers one day and 2 packers the next. Ended up taking 4 1/2 days with big $$$$$$ overages. Will add pictures in the future. Tracy was a very unpleasant person to deal with.

The owner can be a bit brash, but I later learned she is facing surgery and was a bit stressed. The employees were extremely helpful and professional as I stated above. We have to remember that business owners we deal with have families and personal trials just like us. They also have a business to run and that can be very stressful in any economy. Personally, I am grateful to be an employee.

Disaster. The price was great, but you get what you pay for. There is no written contract and nothing is in writing at all. There is no recourse when you are told that they will move everything and make two trips if necessary... then they runout of space and leave two rooms full of stuff in the house you are moving out of. When unloading they do not pay any attention to words on the boxes. Months after the fact I just found my grandmothers china (marked "FRAGILE" on every side) at the bottom of a stack of heavy boxes.... many broken pieces! They took several pieces of furniture to consign, and still no contract! I have not seen a dime and when I called, my messages went unanswered.

I had bought a Lexington 2 piece furniture set for my daughter. I had actually looked at it several different times in person before I decided to buy it. It was selling for $450, so I put $100 down and put it on layaway. Their layaway is for 30 days. I paid on it every week and towards the last week I was unable to make it down to the store to pay it off before they closed (I was at work). I offered to drop it off in the drop box and at first they said it was fine and then later a teenage girl called me back and said that Tracy the owner said that was not acceptable and I had to pay over the phone but I would be charged extra. They had no regards on the fact I was at work and wanted their money. I went ahead and paid and scheduled a drop-off for the furniture on the following Saturday. The day came to and 2 teenage boys finally arrived 2 hours late. They brought the first piece upstairs and then the second. As they set the second piece of furniture down one of the boys said "one of the legs broke when we took it from the store". I told them I should of known about this before hand and they apologized and said that Tracy was going to call me and have someone come and fix it. At that point I was upset for the fact that I just bought a broken piece of furniture that I was unable to use and that they didn't tell me before they brought it. They also charged me $30 for delivery fee which is literally off the same road they are located. A week later I still had not received a phone call so I called them everyday for another week each time with them saying that Tracy was going to call me back. I felt she should of given some of my money back for a damaged item. On the 3rd week I called them again, this time really upset and no one seemed to know what was going on. I told her to tell Tracy that my lawyer would be contacting her. Tracy called me back in 1 minute after not returning any of my previous calls prior and told me that I had known it was broken and proceed to argue with me (I could not believe she was lying)she finally told me that she was scheduling an appointment for some guy that had experience with fixing furniture for that Wednesday. She told me basically it had to be that day. So I had to leave work early which it not easy. Anyway I get home an 30 min before he is supposed to be there. 5 min before a teenage girl calls me and tells me he is not able to come but if I want 2 teenage boys to come and try to fix it I could. So of course I told her that I didn't want 2 boys to try to fix it if they didn't know how to, especially if I paid a lot of money. The guy they supposedly hired came a week later to fix it and he said that it looks like it had been glued before. So my guess is they sold an item that they knew was damaged and didn't advertise it and then it backfired on them and then lied about it. In the end it was fixed somewhat but to a minimum. To add to everything else before I had bought the furniture I had gave then a brand new loft bed to sell for me and it took them 3 months and sold it for $300 in which they took 50% and then only gave me $135. I will never buy or do business with this company again.

The estimate was given over the phone, which should have been my first clue to the service I was about to receive. On the day of the move, two college kids showed up later than scheduled, with no equipment whatsoever to move this furniture. I should have followed my gut instinct at that time and sent them on their way, but I was still under the impression that they were professional movers. They proceded to carry out each piece by hand, dragging cords from the electrical connections for lights in the unit. They failed to lower the inside wooden shelves until I suggessted it. My front porch was scratched as one of the units was removed. Nothing was wrapped before moving: glass shelves were carried out and supposedly blanketed in the truck. Upon arrival, the porch and the railing were scratched. The light on the top of one unit was broken. There were numerous scratches and deep ruts along the bottom of the three pieces from being dragged. Clips to hold the glass shelves were lost in transit. I expressed my concerns with the 2 young men, and they called their boss, Tracy, the owner, who made 2 appointments to come out to inspect the damages, but never showed, or called to cancel, either appointment. That was over 2 weeks ago.
