Description of Work: I had 2 outside faucets replaced. I thought I understood that $300 would cover both, but after performing the work, he wanted $300 EACH. I did not follow my usual practice of getting a written estimate BEFORE he began work, so accept some responsibility, but $600 for an hour's work is ridiculous. I felt that he took advantage of my age and vulnerability.

+ -1 moreMr. Pearson said he was going to take a leak in my yard behind his truck, and even though I offered a bathroom, he did it anyway. He looked at it a few minutes then spent about a half hour on the phone with presumably his wife. He worked slowly for a few hours, burping copiously. He had just given up and told me he was going to take it all out and replace it with another product, but two minutes later said he was done. In the end, he tightened up all the connections and charged me almost $300. (Was he charging by the hour?) His card says their rates will flush the rest - what does that mean? His was the lowest quote for an estimate, yet I feel ended up being higher than another plumber I had considered. He claimed he was giving me a discount, that the job would have cost other people $400-500.
Description of Work: We needed a plumber to figure out why a new connection was leaking and fix it. We had the hole already dug, the plumber did not need to fill it back in or purchase any parts. He tightened the connections.
