The work got done. They seemed a little slow in getting the work done and the price seemed a little high. A lot of times, they are the only ones that the manufacturer recommends. The manufacturers have certain lists of those who are qualified to work on electronics. They are probably the closest in the area we live in. So, they are the only ones that come recommended. They probably did what they said they were going to do.
Description of Work: We have used Jones Appliance Repair. They repaired a television. They took it back to their shop. They did not do it within the home.

I had called AHS for service on a Saturday and I heard nothing until late on Monday. I was just about to call and find out why no one had called me yet. I've had AHS for a number of years and they always call me promply. I was told that they couldn't come out until Wednesday. The refrigerator was working, so it wasn't an emergency. Good thing!! They asked for my model number, but I wasn't at home at the time, so I called them the next day to provide that information. Everyone was polite and professional at that point.. The tech called to ask if he could come early on the day of service. He arrived and since I had already pulled the refrigerator out and removed the back, he looked at the back of the refrigerator (with no flashlight and didn't even bend down to take a look). I told him about the smell and he stuck his head in the freezer. He said he couldn't smell anything. It's pretty strong, so that was offputting to say the least. We had had our floors refinished and there was still a lingering polyurethane odor in the house and he just assumed that that was the problem. He offered no solutions and when I asked him if he was going to go in and look at, and or test the parts to see if anything was wrong, his reply was, and quot; I can't just go in there and order a bunch of parts. I wouldn't know where to beginand quot;. What kind of reply is that? Well, I certainly don't know where to begin, but then I'm not an expert and he said he had been doing this for 12 years. H said that if, as I suspected, it was the compressor relay, I wouldn't have ice. I asked him (because he didn't offer), to check the freezer temperature. It was fine. There may not have been anything he could do, but he seemed disinterested at the very least. He was irritated that I questioned his credentials and called his boss. He went out on my porch where I heard him say, and quot;I'm not going to put up with this stuffand quot;. He came back in and said in a huffy manor, and quot;I'm not going to charge you the $75.00and quot;. I paid him because it was the right thing to do. He seemed to be a nice young man, but didn't offer any other explanation other than the obvious. I have put 2 large boxes of baking soda in my freezer and the smell is still there. He didn't even offer that as a solution. The very least he could have done to earn his fee was to put the back panel on and push the refrigerator back up against the wall. He did neither. He left me with it. His attitude suggested that I was wasting his time. I won't make that mistake again. I didn't know if this was serious or not and certainly wouldn't have decided to spend $75.00 if I hadn't had concerns. Very disappointing experience..
Description of Work: Practically nothing. I had already pulled the refrigerator out from the wall and removed the back panel so he could have access.I told him there was a bad paint or chemical smell that had affected the food and ice inside. The smell was worse in the freezer. He stuck his head in the freezer and looked at the back. He didn't have a flashlight and just glanced at the back.

this customer was mad about something long before we arrived. and also decided she was going to help us on the repair. Moving the unit and taking it apart did not help as she change the environment the unit was operating in and therefore made it harder for my tech to find the issue. As for the flashlight my tech had his in his tool bag she offered and he accepted to keep the call polite as possible. he looked at the unit completely could not find the location of the oder explained to the customer that it could be the newly finished floors masking the issue and could come back at a later time to revisit the issue when the floors had dried even offered not to charge for the call fee since we had not been able to find her issue at this time. As for the phone call she was listening in on, the call that had nothing to do with her or her issue. She seemed to be mostly upset with the extended warranty company and we just got in the way of her anger we tried to help, offered not to charge her till we found the problem and still get hammered on angies list

The techs showed up when they said they would, making several notification calls before arrival. They were professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Jones was kind enough to agree to install the board at our home, rather than taking the TV back to the shop to repair it as they normally do. Unfortunately, the new board did not solve the problem and I expect we will send the TV set back to Sony and look for another brand. This has nothing to do with the Jones folks, who did what Sony asked them to do and we would use them any time in the future that we have a need. I would urge Angie's list to highly recommend them.
Description of Work: We have a new 70" Sony TV, which has less than the expected level and quality of color. The Sony customer service people decided our problem would be solved by a new main circuit board. Jones was the authorized Sony repair shop selected.

Repairman was very helpful and even showed my husband how to install the part once it came it. (Simple replacement part issue!) We'd definitely call them again.

They came on time and seemed to work well. They fixed what we needed and they did a follow up after their work. They answered all our questions and seemed to take care of us. The price is a bit higher but with the result and thoroughness of their work it was worth it.

Knowlegeable, respectful, timely, reasonable... from start to finish, exactly what I wanted
Description of Work: My washing machine suddenly refused to spin & no matter how I tried to reset it, I knew I needed a knowlegable repair person as my machine is manufactured in New Zeeland. I was hesitant to call Jones as I had seen another review that was not very complimentary; however, after calling Lowe's [ where I had purchased my washer] I learned that they were the authorized repair company for the brand of my washer. I called & was treated with respect & set up a date for the repairman to come out to evaluate my problem ..three days.. not bad. I was given an aproximate time of arrival The repairman [ Ken] was prompt. Asked me a few questions about the problem, Looked at the machine & after turning it on & off & checking underneath knew exactally what was wrong, had the part on the truck & had my machine running in less than an hour.

Description of Work: Had a very disappointing service experience with Jones Appliance Repair, called in my Freexer and Refrigerator on Monday morning, was asked for model # and make, provided information. First possible appointment was Friday late afternoon. Service man showed up about an hours after appointment. Than he did not have the part, and could not get it, because now it was Friday after 6.00 pm. Than he demanded full - payment. FOR WHAT ?? Than he said he could be back on Wednesday, upon my insistance he finally offered they could squeze me in late Monday. Very disappointed - and the payment request No Work No
