Do your homework by reading all the reviews on this company before using them for your move. Some reviews sound good but the negative ones should be read carefully. They gave us an estimate for moving that we accepted. The day they came to our house to pack our goods the packers said we had more than the estimate indicated. In other words, the estimate was wrong even though we walked the entire house with the estimator. When the movers arrived at our warehouse we were told by Carey Moving that we had to pay over 40% more than their estimate because we had more stuff than their estimate said. They told us we had to pay the extra charges or they would take our household goods back to their warehouse. We felt they were holding our goods hostage, taking advantage of us as senior citizens and forcing us to pay for their mistake on our estimate. Carey Moving is a horrible, dishonest and unprofessional moving company. The estimator who came to our house was untrained and not qualified to do his job. Don’t make the same mistake we made. There are other moving companies that are honest.

HIDEOUS AND SHAMELESS, UNAPOLOGETIC SCAMMERS. Absolutely screwed over my 78 year old mom. Where do I even begin with this vicious travesty of lies and deliberate deceptions? Their "contract" is so full of loopholes and tiny fine print that they can do anything they want. I had to demand legible signature pages because they were illegible, archaic carbon copies. They don't take your credit card up front, because THEY DO NOT NEED TO- THEY DO NOT NEED TO BECAUSE they will not give you your stuff back unless you pay all their bizarre fees. So,THEY HOLD YOUR STUFF HOSTAGE. First of al they rescheduled a couple days before, because they didn't have a driver. Then, they showed up several hours late. That was the first series of red flags. The driver brought the "WRONG TRUCK", so they left and didn't come back for several hours- with a UHaul rental. They then charged us an EXTRA $500- in addition to their contract of $4,100 - for an UNDISCLOSED UHaul rental "Shuttle" to move everything to their storage facility. MORE IMPORTANT AND PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NOTE--they do not clearly tell you that after they come get your stuff, YOU DO NOT GET IT DELIVERED THAT DAY-- that it will sit in their non- climate controlled storage facility FOR AT LEAST A WEEK - UP TO TWO WEEKS-before they "deliver" it to your destination. So, all our food and medications were destroyed. They charged $1250+ FOR BOXES AND PACKING THAT WE ACQUIRED OURSELVES --AND PACKED OURSELVES IN ADVANCE. Even the actual movers came without boxes or supplies. In final desperation, after missing our destination move--in date, we asked movers to get our stuff delivered to a storage space. and Carey Movers cruelly informed us that THERE WAS AN EXTRA FEE TO TAKE IT TO A STORAGE SPACE. Customer service is utterly SHAMELESS and UTTERLY UNAPOLOGETIC. She was very clear that we were not getting our stuff back until we paid all their fees. This is a horrible, super low-class company which exists by lying, deceitful practices. They take advantage of people, especially the elderly, who cannot discern or even read all the fine print of their incredibly deceptive contracts. Also note- their "insurance" has a huge deductible of $4500. So, basically, they can destroy $4500 worth of your stuff before you can even make a claim. Stay tuned/ more details and photos to come.

The Carey team was outstanding in every sense of the word. They took great care with our belongings, and were pleasant and professional at all times. This was a big move, but the team stayed on time throughout - even going so far as to bring in extra local help at both ends of the move to keep us on schedule. The team also was cost conscious, using no more materials than necessary to do the job. As result, the move came in under the estimate, which was a welcome result. We have moved a number of times over the past two decades and Carey is as good as any mover with which we have worked. I would use them again without reservation.

Excellent on the packing up but not as good on the unloading side.

Overall well. The crew that packed our house was excellent. But the crew that moved us into our new house was less experienced and several furniture pieces were dented and walls dinged.

Called Carey to get a quote for moving. I was moving into a house from an apartment. Called and spoke to someone, she said a rep would call me to set up an appt so that could take a look and accurately quote me . The rep never called.

Very good job with my furniture . Nice, courteous , very professional . I would use this moving company again.

It went very well and they did a great job packing. No complaining and helped clean out storage bldg and attic.
