Description of Work: I had a clogged bath drain. A previous provider had left a big hold in my front yard and not returned to finish the job. Rick showed up and fixed the problem for me. I highly recommend Rick to anyone who needs sewer or drain work. I would definitely call him again.

Description of Work: Ruck is awesome, we'd call him in a heartbeat if we needed a plumber again. He got a whole bunch of items out of various drains, disposal, and toilets. Fixed a leaky faucet, running toilet, and corrected the mistake we made installing a kitchen sink fixture ourselves.

Description of Work: I can't remember the date when I had the drain incident but , I called Rick, he arrived on time, assessed the situation, and recommended that I call Crown Plumbing due to limited access to the cleanout, which I did. Sure enough everyone did a great job. Rick didn't charge anything for looking at it and Crown was very reasonable.

My garbage disposal clogged up when I tried to get rid of of some old rice. My own efforts to and quot;get things moving againand quot; resulted in blowing the pipes under the sink apart, flooding my kitchen and dining room with sticky, starchy rice water.and quot; Mr Rickand quot; responded within a few minutes after my initial call, quoting me $90 to fix the problem. He arrived within two hours and was very professional and considerate. Performing the work promptly, he explained that rice and pasta should not be put down a disposal because it swells once the water hits it. and quot;Boiled okra is another bad one,and quot; he said and quot;because it's stringy and forms a big, slimy ball.and quot; He also showed me (and fixed) two additional problems with the disposal, due to incorrect installation by the builder's plumber. The $90 price quote was reduced to $60 because he didn't have to use any of his equipment, merely clearing out the rice and putting the pipes back together. (Correctly!)

I called the first of the week to see if I could set up an appointment for Friday as my problem was not an emergency and I needed to schedule a day off through my employer. Rick said due to the nature of his business he did not make appointments but would call me around 9 Friday morning to set up a time. I must admit I was nervous/skeptical about this but was relying on the comments of Angie's List members. True to his word, at exactly 9 am my phone rang. Rick arrived in 30 minutes took care of all 3 issues (at 2 separate properties- 5 miles apart) efficiently and professionally. Rick was pleasant and informative and I feel his pricing is reasonable and fair. I will definitely call Rick again for any future plumbing issues.

Rick was recommended to us by another contractor. He was already mostly booked for the day, but took my information and said he would be out that day, though it would be later. He called before to confirm and showed up when he said he would that evening, found the drainage pipe quickly, and was able to diagnose and clear the problem even quicker. He then cleaned the entire area, had me go in and turn on every source of water (including the washing machine) to ensure that he had found/fixed the issue, and sealed the drainage pipe correctly (which the builder had FAILED to do which is why we had the problem in the first place). Rick gave me a few pointers on what to keep a lookout for. His rate was extremely reasonable, he was punctual, courteous, professional, and honest! He is now in my Dependable Vendors file and I will not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who has any plumbing issues!
Description of Work: Downstairs half bath toilet started shooting water like a Roman fountain at 6:45 p.m., evidently due to a main drainage blockage out of the house of which we were not aware. Three inches of water on the floor, some of it starting to seep under the threshold out of the half bath to underneath the hardwoods in the hallway. An hour, 6.5 gallons of water and sewage, and two blisters (from wringing out and mopping up with a towel) later, we were able to keep water usage to a minimum until we could call a plumber the next morning. Rick came out, located the drainage pipe, found the lid to have been incorrectly installed by the builder of the house and a huge root that had worked its way around the threading on the lid and the pipe, into the pipe and started growing exponentially. He cleared the root, cleaned the pipe and lid connections and correctly capped the drainage area.

Arrived promptly. He already had the proper tools ready. After clearing the drain, he described to us the culprit and how to avoid it in the future (flush-able baby wipes which really aren't flush-able in all toilets). He even took us outside to show us where our clean-out is in case we should ever have to resort to using it. He cleaned up afterwards, washed his hands. He then mentioned his 72 hour guarantee for the type of work that he did. Rick is a straight-shooter and we highly recommend him.

He came that afternoon. Listened to wall , and check outside in the yard. No water was found in the Attic, Bathroom or yard. He suspected a slab leak. No charge for the visit and referred me to another plumber who He thougt could hand the problem better. Has old fashioned ideas of honesty.
Description of Work: I have used Rick in the past for installation of a toilet.,changing a faucet and repair of outside faucet.. He always come when he says and has fair prices. We heard water running in the wall of the bathroom and called Rick.

AHS sent out the first plumber, who thought we had a septic tank, but just couldn't find it to fix the problem. Wanting a 2nd opinion, AHS then sent out a 2nd plumbing group who said that we just have sewer, no septic tank (which was correct) and that we didn't have enough fall in the line going out to the sewer under the street. They gave us an estimate of $2200 to make the fall greater, which would require digging up the front yard. Not wanting to do that, I got my own 3rd opinion from Rick, who I found on Angie's List under Sewer Cleaning, hoping that might save my front yard, which it did. Rick arrived about an hour after I called him, found the cleanout valve in front of the house (which the 1st plumber never found, after asking ME where I thought it was) and listened to it while I flushed the toilet. He said that he could hear the water flow, and then hit something before going on out and falling in the sewer, which sounded to him like a bad back flow valve, which I had not heard anything about from the other 2 plumbers. He found the back flow valve under a metal cover in the floor of my garage, which had not been touched since the house was built 15 yrs ago, and broke screws trying to get it unstuck. When he finally got it open, he showed me the paper that was stopping it up, and the bad flapper, then cleaned it out, replaced the flapper kit, which he had in his truck, had me test it by flushing the toilet again, then sealed it back up, gave me the bill for $109, and was on his way. If I had gone with the 2nd opinion and had not called Rick, it would have cost me $2200 and a messed-up front yard, and might not have even fixed the problem, according to Rick. I am calling AHS Monday to tell them this story so that I can recover the $109 from them, which they should be happy to pay, considering the $2200 alternative. It seems they have the wrong plumbers working for them in Simpsonville.
Description of Work: Located the reason for bathroom drains backing up: a clogged backflow valve under the garage floor. Rick installed a new flapper and was finished in about 45 min.

Rick came to my house within two hours. A tree had fallen over the road and we had no power, which prevented him from being able to fix our drain problem. He not only recommended someone who could do the work without power, he called them for me. I offered to pay him as it wasn't his fault that he couldn't do the job, but he refused to take any money.

My sewer line was clogged and was backing up into my crawl space. I had tried to find where the sewer line exited the house but had no luck. Rick came out, used a probe to find the line, opened it up, and ran the snake into it. He pulled out a huge mess of roots. He made a cap for the drain so that if I could access it easier in the future. He recommended that I get RootX to keep from having the problem in the future.

Our kids threw a small ball in the hot tub drain in our master bathroom, which was completely clogged, later both sinks and the shower and the toilet were clogged as well. Fearing a major problem (?) we called Rick who used a lot of imagination to get rid of the ball (shop vac) and removed q-tips and baby wipes (kids!) from the toilet and a lot of hair and gunk from the sinks and shower (older house?). It looked like all this was more coincidental and it might have been quite expensive, but as it was not too major of a problem. Rick just charged us $125 which we were very thankful for.

It went great. He found a couple spots in the line that had roots and removed them. He also told me my lines were fine and didn't need replacing, so I felt comfortable that he was not trying to get more work out of me. He was very friendly, efficient, and knew his job. I'd gladly pay his rates again knowing he's someone I could trust. He even told me what to do to avoid the problem in the future (adding sewer root killer). He does this as a service for folks, but told me I could do it myself easily enough to save me money.
Description of Work: We had a slow drain and backup when the washing machine discharges. Rick located the sewer clean out, used his electric sewer cleaning snake to remove some roots in the sewer line between my house and the city's line. All in all it took about 30 minutes of actual work.

Rick's Sewer came out same day in fact within a hour or so. Searched out the problem and repaired it right away. Located main sewer line, traced it to find clog, cleared the line and then had to reconstruct part of the line which had broken away from the main line.

Rick's stands out over other companies because he has a great crew. His prices are the same or lower than the other outfits. He came out the same day to unclog the drain. The leak they showed up the following day to fix the old pipes. Also they never make any extra mess in my home.
