We called RHR looking for a second opinion after a previous provider came out, identified we had no refrigerant left and barely located where the leak MIGHT have occurred. They were recommended by our roofer! RHR tech came out, and without us telling him what the previous guy identified, found the issue (leaking charge connect/bad valve) and identified why that was the issue (overheating the tubing when installed thus frying the valve o rings). Both companies provided estimates for recharging the system ($900 to $1000 - thing had zero charge and was the old R22 refrigerant). Both said they did not have confidence the system would then hold the charge. RHR was able to point out exactly where and why they were concerned. After some research of the whole R22 going obsolete thing and knowing neither company had much confidence in the system being able to hold a charge, we opted to replace. We chose to go with RHR 1) Because they were great at communicating and identifying the issues, thus instilling more trust, and 2) They were cheaper AND the unit they were quoting had a better energy rating that the other company. The guys were very punctual. After identifying a draining issue they added a reservoir and pump to the unit at no extra charge as well as a new pad for the outdoor unit. They were great at answering my endless questions and were punctual. When installing the unit they noticed a screw hole on the cover panel was mis-drilled so the screw was no properly engaging. It was a minor thing but they still contacted the manufacture and secured a new cover under the warranty for me and then came back a few weeks later when they received the new part and installed it. Two months after installation our bills are MUCH lower with the new system even though it?s running frequently to keep up with the summer heat. We did have an issue where it started leaking water. We were apprehensive about touching the unit so emailed them about the issue the night we found the problem. Heath (owner) contacted me the next morning and had a guy out there that evening when we got off work. The service man was very kind, showed us how the drain tube occasionally needs cleaning, how to do it and then pointed out to call anytime for that - we had a year warranty after all! Did not talk down to us at all for being clueless and taught us what to do should we want/need to address in the future. All their techs we met were super nice guys! I cannot recommend these guys enough. They?ll readily communicate by email which is rare for many companies but such a huge help. The owner (Heath Richey) takes the calls and emails himself - not an secretary or call center like many HVAC companies. If you want someone you can trust, call these guys.
