Hired to insulate the garage roof and 2nd floor attic. Blown wool insulation to really great levels and spread evenly. Team worked on a warm august morning and got things done quickly. Only thing i don't like is the make-shift attic stair tent using taped together silver insulation blanket. Insulation tends to fall out of the attic and on the floor each time i remove the tent to enter the attic.

We decided to use copper radiant barrier in a third floor room being transformed into a bonus room. The owner of the company was very accommodating through the whole process. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything that needed to be done. He came back on a couple of occasions after the original installation to make sure the bonus room was cooling to maximum efficiency. I am very pleased with EnergySmith HP and would recommend them to anyone looking for quality work. I will definitely use them for any future insulation work.

EnergySmith was the third company I contacted after first 2 contractors spoke to me to arrange an estimate visit then never showed or contacted me. Joe, on the other hand, arrived on time and gave me a detailed explanation of the proposed service. He even noted they did not have to replace all of the insulation I thought was needed. His crew arrived on time, were courteous, professional and fast. They also left everything clean and in order. I would recommend EnergySmith to anyone without hesitation and will use them again for any other insulation jobs.

This past winter my house (1550 sq. ft., one level) was extremely drafty, my heat pump was running constantly, and my power bill was more than it has ever been. After reading great reviews on the Internet about Joe and Energy Smith, I scheduled a consultation at the end of Feb. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable and helped me select what I needed. It was installed March 19 by a professional crew. Although it isn't inexpensive ($1,870), I have found it was worth every penny. The $250 Duke rebate arrived very quickly, as well. It was the original insulation in my home, and there were huge gaps where air was escaping. Since the installation, my central heat and now my central air doesn't run half as much or as long. My home is so much more comfortable. And my bills are lower, too. I live alone so my Duke bill wasn't huge to begin with but pre-insulation, my bills were higher than ever -- $101.92, $111.43 and $93.99 in January, February and March. After insulation, in April, it was $65.95, May was $61.22 and June was $63.29. I'm sure my next bill will be low as well. Last year's bills were about $20 more. This is the best investment I have ever made in my home. It's definitely money well spent!

They were prompt, completed the job & cleaned up. They also removed a pile of hardwood flooring, at no extra charge, that had been stored in the attic by a previous owner. And best of all the garage is COOL!

Joe, with EnergySmith, is an expert in the field of insulations. I was thinking that I wanted the aluminum vapor barrier to help control the inside temperatures. I found out that what was really needed is to add insulation, because all of the original insulation had compressed leaving about an R4 rating. This ended up giving us the most bang for the buck. The whole team gave us a very professional, and courteous experience. An outstanding job. I recommend them for any home insulation project. Stan G.

Great experience! We had originally considered a costly, attic only encapsulation with another company but decided to get a second opinion. After a low pressure explanation of all our options the owner (Joe) recommended a much simpler solution for the attic AND insulated our crawlspace for less than half the prior quote!
