I believe Mr. Scott did not want to do the job due to the height. All he had to say was it was not in his ability. I would have understood that. But since he said he'd get back with me with an estimate, that's what I expected. The fact that he did not is inexcusable.
Description of Work: Called Mr Scott for an estimate on replacing some aluminum fascia blown off the eves of my house. He looked at work I needed and said he'd be back in touch with an estimate. I never heard from him again. I gave the work to another handy man.

Description of Work: Hired to repair and paint a rotting porch on the front of our home. This job should have taken no more than a week to complete. They dragged it out for 3 weeks. Mr. Scott was rarely present on the job, and there was only one worker at the job at any given time. They left our job for approx. 3 days without any contact and our yard had construction material all over it and our downspouts had been removed. The downspouts stayed off the house for several days during heavy rain and produced holes near the foundation of our home. They removed boards from the front of our home which were not immediately replaced which allowed heavy rain to pour in to the ceiling of our porch to the point that the ceiling was sagging and water had to be pushed out by us with a broom. We asked for a certain paint to be used that had very specific manufacturer's instructions which were not followed and now the wood is bleeding through. All nail holes were caulked instead of puttied and they painted over it so all of these areas are now soft and bubbling up. A set of handrails that were built are off-center. The wood was not sanded at all and is splintered. Mr. Scott denied any of this was his fault, and demanded final payment in spite of our dissatisfaction with the final work. He made personal threats to our family and also threatened to sue. We did pay him half of the balance and told him to go away. I would not recommend this man to anyone. *Update* Since I originally submitted this report, we found all of the handrails that they replaced, which includes our second floor porch, has loose pickets, pickets not spaced the correct distance apart, and the handrails are not secured to the porch itself, meaning the rail moves when shaken just slightly.
