Because the problem was not the electric company's responsibility, we had to call an electrician. Altrade responded within an hour and repaired the wiring and the box the same night.
Description of Work: Residential - the wind blew down a limb on exterior wiring and pulled the box off the house.

Poorly.
Description of Work: Ok, had good pre-work professional meeting and tact things would go well. Scope of work was to add electrical capacity to a warehouse ie., 460 vc 277 vac 240 vac and 120 vac as well as lighting . The understanding was to have a source for each voltage so as our shop changed we could "play musical" chairs with our machinery and not rewire the building as the shop evolved and as our work layout changed. Each station would have all of these voltages and we would be plug and play for anything we wanted to move. Work proceeded extremely slowly and it was ridiculous taking about 4 months or maybe five, can't remember exactly. More importantly, not all conductors were run to each 460 volt box so each one was not a full 460 VC three phase box. This we could not move our 460 VC equipment "at will" to each station. Instead of removing a one foot long jumper to remove one leg, they saved money by failing to run the entire leg all the way back to the transformer rendering the box anything but, "plug and play". Meaning if I wanted full three phase I would have to run a third conductor myself through conduit about 150 feet. Altrade was asked to inspect all the welders to determine the ampacity required and to insure the apacity was adequate and did so prior to the award of the contract. Alltrade then wanted to change the original voltage for the welders to a lower voltage . This was suggested to eliminate a dangerous leg that might prove threatening to service persons. I did not voice an objection to this however, I did not intend to starve the circuit of current and render the circuit useless. The lower voltage doesn't support the ampacity for the welders rendering the entire circuit "imputant" for the welders which draw less current at a higher voltage. This was going on while the owner of Alltrade was wanting to be paid siting lack of payment with his other clients and desparate cash flow. I responded in a respectfull manner and did not try to increase tentions unreasonably, payment was made to help them out. Secondly, the original drawings as required by the building inspector as performed by a licensed engineering group were not updated to reflect the change suggested by Alltrade as this would have cost more money. The lights work real good. Alltrade doesn't want to be forced to be reasonable about my needs but, clearly expects others to be resonable about their needs. I didn't get an allie who could help me end up a hero, I got a group that was not proactive while I was working on my main job and did not watch my back at all. The time it took them to do the work could have been forgiven if the net result forfilled our expectations a flexible and usefull shop. Alltrades electricians took advantage of an opportunity to ask if we needed any help. On a whole, this refleted extremely poorly on me and affected by job. I did not hire a friend of mine as I was afraid of showing favoratism but, sure wish I had. Former employees of Alltrade called my forman and told him there is alot of stuff done wrong we don't even know about. Its been about a year since this happened but I am so mad I had to record this.
