The work that they did was fine but the workers went fishing off our dock, got on my husband’s boat and when we said something about it – we weren’t home our neighbors observed this – the company was not very accountable about it. They didn’t apologize, they pretty much said it couldn’t have happened. I think they need to watch who they are hiring to do the installations.

Took too long from plan to work. Installed irrigation system but did not advise about type or irrigation required. Twice during the 10 months I have had to have the system serviced. I had an overload of water being applied. After installation and servicing I was never told how to monitor or change the water application amount. When I asked the owner recently about this his question was, " I thought you were a grown man and would ask questions". I did at least three times. He told me the best recommendation, which I have done, to remove the controller. The plantings and replacement of two plants which have died were done satisfactorily. However, I agree with a previous reviewer that the ethics of this business and owner are suspect. I shall never use Zone 7 again or refer/recommend them to anyone.

Response from Zone 7, Inc.
I am sorry that after the work we did together that you now feel this way. Zone 7 installed 57 plants, 14 tons of drainage stone, a hose bib mounted simple drip irrigation system and a load of mulch into your landscape. We came in under budget and adjusted your invoice accordingly. We had one plant die, twice, and replaced it when you notified us. Your unhappiness stems from our poor communication regarding your knowledge of the simple drip system. Our records indicate that the controller was left on the hose bib all winter and froze. We did not think to tell you to remove it for the winter. We replaced it at no charge. At that time you ordered another tree to be installed and we did so. We replaced the controller and set the run time for typical SC summer temps. The summer of 2014 was a rainy one. Again we did not communicate with you about shutting the hose bib off if it rained a lot. Your dissatisfaction with me for not better communicating with you regarding the controls is acknowledged and I apologize for it. Your anger and tone prompted my own. I should not have reacted as I did. As a result of this, we have created some documentation for customers regarding these mini drip systems operation and seasonal adjustments. Your business is valued by us and we acknowledge our fault in this situation. If Zone 7 can make amends for you, please call on us.

Description of Work: Someone came to my house to give me basic landscaping ideas, things I could do myself. What I like about Zone 7 is they know the ins and outs of growing things in this hardiness zone. They also offer free seminars which are very helpful and informative. They are very helpful when I shop there for plants and the plants they sell are not overpriced.

I’m sorry about how you feel. Zone 7 provided maintenance at your family home for 3 1/2 years. After 3 years of service, we notified you that we were reducing our area of coverage and could no longer travel out to your home. We talked at that time, and you told me the service was great and you would be willing to pay more for us to continue. We agreed to a price and we continued service. After another half year, and we again notified you that we had to discontinue the Maintenance department and focus more on our Landscape Construction department. I’m not sure what angered you to this extent to post this and while we did inconvenience you, we simply made a business decision to end one division of our business and focus more on another. You did not live locally and we never personally met. We have no recorded of complaints from you in the 3.5 years except the unhappiness you expressed when we notified you of the discontinued service. We apologize for the situation and your unhappiness with it. If there is anything we can do at this stage for you please let me know. We valued your business and did not know the extent of your unhappiness.

I spoke with Lance on the phone about creating a landscape design for us. He asked what we were looking for and I told him that we were looking for some curb appeal to get the house on the market, as our builder planted the wrong type of grass and was all dead and also planted no plants to beautify the property. Lance set up an appointment for Thursday of the following week. I spoke to my wife who was excited to finally get the project moving. We discussed the fact that after our bonus room was finished and after the yard was done, it might tip us over the edge and we could just stay in the property instead of moving. I received an e-mail from Lance on Monday stating they were "very busy with clients who love their landscapes and are working with us to enhance them further." He basically cancelled our appointment through e-mail and declined our project WITHOUT EVEN VIEWING THE PROPERTY. I guess it's nice to have so much business that you can turn away paying customers.
Description of Work: The provider set up an appointment and cancelled saying he couldn't "get passionate about our project" without even looking at what we needed.

I would recommend them to anybody for very good work if it has to be done by a certain date get it a promise up front and in writing and they will come through for you.
Description of Work: Landscaping, yard matinance, fixed irrigation system Lee did a great job redesigning a prevouis "landscapers" botched up mess and creating a beautiful coherent theme for the yard. The lawn crew friendly and glad to do anything you asked, the only negative they don't control the weeds in the beds as well as we would like. The first year the irrigation system was a constant headache, I lost count of the number of trips they made trying to get it right. This year they have hired a guy that really knows his stuff! Once we finally got him out here it's been fixed and running perfect. They do great work once you get them on site, if you don't give them a firm drop dead date they have a tendency to keep shoving you down the list. We think they are the most professional wev'e dealt with over the years and different homes. If they would show up when they say they are I would give them 9.5 out of 10.

They were a little pricey. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: We had them come in and install a valve for our irrigation system. They had to dig up our old system and update it. We are now up to code.

The yard was cleaned up, graded, and prepared for sod. The crew did a great job, took pride in their work and asked for my feedback as the yard came together. Two great guys! The end of the job, I asked for some minor changes which were happily carried out to my satisfaction. The yard looks great and I'm a happy camper!
Description of Work: Zone 7 laid sod, designed beds and did hardscape rock work in my back yard. The yard was in a post-home construction state. Lee, the owner, visited as scheduled, listened to my ideas, suggested some of his own, and even suggested how to save some money while improving my project.
