The bank would not close on the house until all electric was up to the new city codes, and I had only one week's notice before I was supposed to move in. I was referred to AE and its owner, Will, and wow did they come through for me. They did it all in one day, and Will was great about calling me where he thought I could do something differently than originally recommended -- where we could wait until I moved in, where we needed to move some wires and yes, where I needed to spend more to have more room on the new panel. Advanced Electric definitely won me over today. I have a lot more work for them, and I will not be looking for another electrician any time soon.
Description of Work: Will and his crew performed multiple services to get my new house up to code. They put in a new panel, moved the dryer outlet, put in two ceiling fan boxes, re-ran wire where it was placed incorrectly -- cleaned the whole mess up

+ 0 morel Zach came back as scheduled to fix the driveway lamp post "head." He was on time and prepared. He had purchased a perfect matching light fixture and installed it. Love his work, love him, and hope that all my experiences with Angie's List will be as uncomplicated and satisfying.
Description of Work: Replaced 8 smoke detectors (hard wired and interconnected). It all went so fast and so efficiently that I don't know what to do with the rest of my day! They showed up right on time, answered all my questions, wrote out an estimate, and asked me if I wanted them to do it today or make another appointment. I couldn't wait for them to be changed out -- they were over ten years old and giving me such grief by going off in the middle of the night -- I was thrilled that they could do it right then. They came across only one glitch and that was that the two smoke alarms that were added when the previous owners converted the basement into two bedrooms. They were hard wired ones but were not connected to all the others. They rewired those two for an additional $30. So the total was $260 and was such a fair deal. I would use them again any time and am actually having them come back to fix a lamp post that doesn't work. They've already diagnosed the problem and I immediately called their office to reschedule for next Friday. If all this sounds too gushy, you should see the email I just sent to my daughter at work. She's the one that forced me to join Angie's List last weekend and actually sat down with me at the computer to make sure that I did. Ha! Thank you sweet daughter!

+ -1 moreWill was prompt and professional. He gave us a fair quote and the work was performed on time and in a very professional manner. The quality was excellent. I purchased all the lights for the finish work and unknowingly purchased the wrong smoke/carbon monoxide detector. Will made a special trip to the store, purchased the correct unit and installed it. The only charge was for the cost of the unit. Needless to say, awesome customer service. I would highly recommend Advanced Electrical for any job large or small. I'm really looking forward to having Will and team wire my dock for power and lights at Lake Keowee!

On the first visit, things weren't as easy as anticipated, the original electrician cut the wires in the outlets and switches too short, so they had to do additional work. They didn't leave until all the power was back on throughout the house. I was very impressed by this! They were early each time, stayed late (until 9pm!!!) the first visit and are finishing up today. Scott was fantastic! He has a great sense of customer service and worked! Worked hard! And wasn't on his cell phone as so many installers are these days. I would recommend them highly and will use them again if needed in the future.
Description of Work: Changed out switches and outlets, installed several fans, trouble shoot outlet problems, hang lighting, added ceiling mounted lighting. Fixed travelers on switches installed by others that didn't know what they were doing! They did an excellent job with friendly and informative installers. They provided a detailed estimate.

Within the hour she called to let me know they were on their way. He arrived and I told him the problem and what I would like for him to do. They were here about an hour and had replaced several defective parts including a bad GFI outlet. Great job, well done in a short time.

+ -1 moreI was disappointed by Advanced Electrical. I scheduled an appointment for one of their employees to come perform an estiamte. He came a gave me a reasonable quote, but did not perform the work that day. I had to call to schedule another appointment for them to do the actual work. I did so making plans for them to come one day in a certain time frame. When it got to the end of that window, and I hadn't heard from them, I called to see what the issue was. After a few attempts, I finally reached someone. She connected me with one of the company's managers (not sure if it was an owner or something else). He apologized that they hadn't made their appointment and we arranged for them to come in the same window the next day. I asked that if other jobs delayed them again that they please contact. The next day came and the appointment time, but once again, they were a no show. I was not contacted by them after that. I believe the work I contacted them about was relatively small. It may have been that it was more profitable for them to work on other jobs. I can't be sure. Whatever the case, I do know that they can't be counted on to keep appointments or call customers to keep them from wasting time waiting on them.
