JWA TREE SVC & STUMP REMOVAL

I had JWA give me an estimate to remove a large, old tree. I was quoted a price that seemed fair and, because I was told that they had other work to complete in the same area, we left a service date open-ended, but with the assumption that it would be by early the following week. When I had not been contacted by them by the following Tuesday, I called and spoke with the woman who scheduled the estimate. She told me that I was on the schedule for either the following day or the day after. As storms were expected in the area (again) and I was concerned about this tree coming down, given the saturated ground, I said that was OK but sooner would be better. After hanging up, I left the house for a short time and returned to a phone message from the same woman, saying that they would "be out there tomorrow for sure." So I waited all day the following day, as I hadn't been given a definite time. When it became obvious by 5:30 pm that they weren't going to show, I called them and received their voicemail. I left a message saying i had been told they would be there that day, how I had waited all day yet no one showed up, and that I would like someone to call me back to explain what was going on. Well, it's nearly 5:30 pm the following day and I haven't a heard a word from them. I am not going to call anyone to beg them to do work at my home; fortunately, no money was paid upfront. I understand schedules change and I understand things come up unexpectedly, but don't tell people you will be somewhere "for sure" and just not show up without even a phone call to explain why. It's common courtesy and good business practice. I have to say, given the two other reviews which were positive, I'm surprised. I called this company based on those reviews and they did not live up to them. I'll be making phone calls to other companies tomorrow to get more estimates. What a waste of an entire week. **UPDATE** Over a week since I posted this review, I have not heard anything from this company and they have not come by my house. Absolutely the strangest experience I've ever had with a company.

I called and he immediately told me what was needed, what he could do and even put my mind to rest, calliing my landscaper and discussing how big of a hole he needed to make because the trees that were cut down were being replace with 2 more. He was on time, did great work and cleaned up all the debris that he made. I was very please and would surely call on them again.

This company gave us the lowest estimate BY FAR. The crew was very nice, and the work was excellent. Our yard was cleaner when they left than when they showed up.
