Our 18x20 ft floating wood dock (some call it a swim platform) on Lake Wylie was in bad shape : the pressure treated wood decking was cracking and curling up and nails and screws would no longer hold. David was the second contractor I talked to. The first company I talked to sent a guy out who suggested that the dock be replaced completely and gave a price of $10,000. When David saw the dock he suggested that we just take off the decking which obviously needed replacement and then see how the frame and the floats looked. He was very knowledgeable. He recommended that we add additional frame members to stiffen the dock and had several other good ideas. He said he'd do it for $3,200, but wouldn't be able to start for 6-8 weeks since he was busy. It wasn't an emergency, and I certainly wanted a guy who had lots of work, so we agreed. Six weeks later he called and said he and his crew would be out Monday. As promised they showed up with a boat and their work barge, got right to work and finished in 3 days. The dock looks great and I enjoyed working with David.
