Response from Carolina Horticultural Services
I met with homeowner promptly after they initially contacted me. I walked through the yard with them to get ideas and needs for their landscape. This was a design for the entire yard which had been neglected for years and needed a total overhaul. We agreed on a estimate for a completed design and I communicated to them that I would let them know when it was completed. I sent a list of plant options via email on June 10 to see what the client liked and disliked. The client sent a email on July 1 to find out the status of the design I emailed them back the same day letting them know I should be done with it that week. Unfortunately I had a personal matter come up a few days later that I had to attend to and was traveling for a while. The client did not attempt to contact me any during that time because no voicemail or email was sent to me. I was at fault for not contacting them during that period but I had a lot going on during that time. The next correspondence I received from the client was the review via Angie's List. I responded back as soon as I could to let the client know what had happened then apologized for not contacting them and told them I had completed the design and offered for them to review it. They were not interested and did not want it. I invested many hours in the layout of the design and did not receive any compensation for it. I did not push the matter for being compensated for the initial consultation, design layout, & completed design.
