Had to replace water heater. When I came home this montrosity of a water heater was in place with a big pipe off the top. Like the size of a 5 gallon bucket, which interfered with shelfs and dryer in room. Although I was shocked I still let it go. Water pipe under house was not repaired just "rerouted" is what it looks like. company claims they have no record of this. If the guy was being nice and did this that is one thing but to state he never did anything and then began having problems with same pipe is a problem. Water gurling back up in sink, people renting my house did not know this was not normal for home. They said it was working so I said okay and I would keep an eye on it. two weeks from 60 days of warranty the water is backing up everywhere, dishwasher, sink and leaking under sink. Called Brothers of Rock HIll and they said they would come out and look at it but sounded like sewer. Wanted to charge me a $49 fee for travel so I was going to call someone else, then they changed their mind and said they would make it $19.95 but they are charging me for new repairs if any are done bc it was beyond the 60 days. My complaint is charging additional fee to follow up on something rerouted and not repaired, taking advantage of a travel fee. If you want business in Charlotte then that is on them not me. I wont be getting additional work because now I feel like they are sketchy and I have rental homes, I could have given them long term business but they have lost my trust.

Brothers has completely lost my confidence and I am a long standing customer. They installed their brand of package heat/air unit in 2005 along with a UV air scrubber. The sales person extolled the virtues of their unit and that it would be a long term investment and would perform better than most. Borthers has also been performing all regular maintenance on the unit and I felt good about their professionalism and felt we were in good reputable hands. Last year, 8 years after purchasing the unit, we had to purchase $999 worth of service from them and I was told the unit should now be ready for another 10 years of service without major repair. Today, their technician tells me we have a hold in the coil and that even with warranty, the cost will be $1700+. They also want to charge over $600 for replacement of refrigerant and that is for 8-10 pounds. I told the technician that I was totally disappointed with Brothers and that I would have someone else come and work on my unit. At that point he asked if he was ab;e to comp the refrigerant would I feel the same way. I vote no confidence.

I have a 16 year old A/C and furnace. I was fairly sure it needed to be replaced due to its age and a nasty rust stain down the side of our home that I found out was caused by a rusted evaporator coil. I called Brothers to conduct a tune-up of the system. The service technician arrived on 10/10/14 and tuned up what he could and then provided me with a quote to repair the extensive problems. The service technician was on time, professional and knowledgeable. Given my initial experience with Brothers I decided to have them give me a quote for a new system. The service technician told me that another person would provide me with the quote. I scheduled the quote for 6 pm on 10/14/14. The “comfort consultant” called me at 6:12 pm to let me know he was on his way. He finally arrived at approximately 6:45 pm. He began his assessment process by asking me what I wanted. I replied that he was in my home to give me his professional opinion. He proceeded to check out the furnace and A/C unit and his comments mirrored those of the service technician. He then went to his truck to work on quotes for several options. When he returned he verbally went over two options. When I asked him for hard copies for me to review and compare to other companies, he said he would provide it by email. I am writing this review on 10/18/14 and I have not heard back from the comfort consultant or anyone else from Brothers. I find their lack of timeliness and response very unprofessional. The only reason I didn't give Brothers a F rating is that my initial experience was pleasant. Another company will install my new system next week.

System was purchased from Brothers 6 years previous. And it came with a 10 years parts & labor warranty. Unit apparently developed a crack in the condensor coil, allowing freon to escape. My technician was Elliot and he did a great job finding & diagnosing the problem; ordered the necessary parts for repair and kept me informed every step of the way. He was personable, knowledgable and professional.....couldn't ask for better service than Elliot supplied. He recharged the system so that I have cooling until the parts arrive (3 days). I was very pleased with the original purchase of this system and I am just as pleased with the service they are providing under the warranty. .It won't cost me a dime Thanks Brothers - and Elliot!

We have used Brothers Heating and Air for over a year now and couldn't be happier. Our home came with "antique" units that we knew would need replacing. Last May, two days before my due date, our downstairs AC went out. I was on limited bed rest and couldn't go up and down the stairs more than once a day so I was stuck downstairs. They sent someone immediately. I had an emergency c section and no one could be there when they were installing it but I felt comfortable letting them in the house anyway. They made sure everything was in working order by the time I got home from the hospital. One tech even noticed it was garbage day and took our garbage down to be picked up and brought it back up. Of course that winter the first cold day the furnace went. Came immediately knowing we had an infant and replaced that. Now the upstairs unit needs replacing and they are our only call. Ronnie has been our sales guy and he's the best. Every tech, especially Shannon are fantastic too.

They are very responsive. As a matter of fact when i first had trouble with this about a year ago i was calling around trying to get somebody to come in and check my system out and almost everybody was putting me on a three or four day hold and Brothers said we will have somebody out there this afternoon and they did.
Description of Work: My air conditioning kept shutting down and they came out and did a complete checkup of the system and helped me to add on a capacitors on both of my systems that allowed the systems to start up without kicking the circuit breaker.

The first plumber arrived and said he could not make the repair on job #1 and gave no estimate but gave a high estimate on job #2. He said that we needed to find a different plumber to make the repair on the one he wasn't able to do. Immediately after plumber #1 left, I called to ask if this company had someone who could do the job which I thought was unusual as I had explained our two needs when I scheduled the appointment. The second plumber was sent several hours later. We felt his estimate was big as well for job #1 ($313). The estimate for job #2 (install of a new toilet) was $250 from them, and we are now getting it done through Lowe's for $99 so we definitely felt that the company is too expensive. We are also surprised to have one of their own plumbers tell us we needed another plumber. We will get more estimates for job #1 before proceeding but after finding that we could get job #2 done for less than half the price at Lowes, we lost some trust in this company's pricing policies. Both plumbers did arrive on time. The second seemed much more knowledgeable than the first.

First, I was told I had a 'mid-afternoon' appointment to meet the HVAC technician and that I would get a 30 minute advance call when the technician was on his way. At 4 PM, still no technician. I called and was not given any useful info. At 5 PM I called and was told the technician was on 'lunch break'. At 5:45 I called and was told MY technician was sent on another call (for someone with a paid warranty contract). I kept calling. However, the technician didn't show up until 7 PM (by the name of Elliot)! I cancelled several appointments and juggled my schedule several times to accommodate this 'late afternoon' appointment! However, to make things worse, the technician had only 3 years of experience and was HORRIBLE. We clearly indicated that the problem was that, although the system was activating properly, there was NO airflow into the home - clearly the inside fan was the problem. However, the technician checked the filters, the HVAC system upstirs (which is a completely SEPARATE unit/system!) and spent almost 2 hours (unsuccessfully) checking for a refrigerant leak. At various points during this 2 hour period, I asked if he could just check the fan, since that (obviously!) was the problem. Finally, around 9 PM (now dark outside), the technician began diagnosing the inside fan. After ANOTHER 30 minutes, he verified the fan needed replacing. This was after calling his manager to help him decode the electrical wiring schematics. By then, it was SO LATE, a part could not be ordered (until the next day). Then Elliot had me sign my name on an electronic pad and only told my wife and I that I was just acknowledging that 'he showed up' to our home. Then, after returning from his van, he provides a hard copy invoice indicating charges (and work) that I was not aware of and did not authorize - surprisingly, my 'electronic signature' was added to the bottom. My wife and I were quite angry. t I called his manager, Bobby, and explained that I did NOT want to see the technician again on my property and that I would NOT pay for any additional 'diagnostic' time by this incompetent technician. I did pay the standard $89 ($$$) dispatch fee and Bobby told me they would obtain the fan and send another more SENIOR technician out THE NEXT DAY (when it all could have been done this FIRST day!). The Rheem HVAC unit was less than 3 years old (installed by same company - then known as ARS) but here I was already replacing a major part. However, to my surprise, the charge for the simple fan replacement was approximately $448 - amazing, since the work took only 40 minutes! Way too expensive! I suspect they were trying to recoup some of the time incurred by the first incompetent technician. I reluctantly paid the 'repair/replace fee' and declined to purchase one of their service warranties (for obvious reasons). In the end, it took 2 DAYS and over $500 to replace this fan which we CLEARLY indicated was the problem to start with. There is NO WAY the fan replacement (labor only!) should have cost over $400!

They did fine. He was very nice and did the work. I thought they were a little expensive. They were good and quick. They got the job done in about 30 minutes. They were fine with scheduling. The plumber was very friendly, knew what he what doing, and was helpful.

Recently we had AC issues at our house and called a number of companies out to give us a quote on replacing the system. The representative from Brothers showed up in a few hours and was very professional. A few of the other companies had presentations that reminded me of a Time Share presentation I had attended years ago. Getting a quote from Brothers was a pleasure. We hope to have a decision soon.

We liked them a lot. They did an excellent job. Actually we got them through another contractor to do a part of the work when we redid out kitchen. We did not contact them directly but we were very pleased with them. We had a technician named Thomas Schneider who was very good. He came back when we had another problem and checked our water heater just because they do the heating and plumbing. He checked the water heaters to make sure it was still doing okay. He found a gas leak which my husband could also smell and he fixed that free of charge. In fact we liked him so much that we are going to go ahead and buy a new water heater from them because ours is really too old. The cost was wrapped in with the other contractor's package.

Biggest rip off attempt ever. They quoted me $1080 to install three sediment traps. Yes, $1080 to turn off the gas, unscrew a coupling and install about $6 worth of black iron pipe. $350 per sediment trap. Guy tried to tell me he had to repipe the whole thing......wrong.....glad I knew better. Found another guy who hooked me up last minute( home sale) for. $150. Stay away.

One of them chain smoked on the job. Not the sort of ppl to know or care about quality work. The electrician, however, was great as well as the second team who came to fix the work. Pleased they offered to send out a crew to fix the first team's work. Wish I would've gotten them the first time around. My official receipt is signed by J.B. & Ray-Ray. Would've been fine had I not paid nearly 10K.
