He found that there was a repair that would be needed on the furnace in the future but explained that it was not an immediate need. I was really impressed with them and comfortable with the work that they do. I will hire them for work in the future.

Description of Work: Brother's sent out a technician today to do the semi-annual inspection of our heating/cooling system. As always, we were satisfied with the service and information provided. We have done business for quite a few years with them and they have always went above and beyond when it comes to overall service. At one point they even entirely replaced a system when it would not adequately cool our house. This was done with no pressure from us but what they decided they must do when other methods of attempting to repair the other system did not work.

Description of Work: The gas pak at our home was blowing cold air. We called Brothers to investigate what the problem was. They first thought that a wire had overheated and recommended that we replace it for about $300. When we reset the gas pak it started working again and blowing hot air so we thought that it was fixed. Approximately two days later it started blowing cold air again. This time they said they thought we needed new heat ducts because they thought that one heat duct was restricted too much and the unit wasn't getting enough air intake. After replacing the ductwork to the tune of $600, we restarted the gas pak and it worked for a few days until it started blowing cold air again. The third time Brothers came out (and $900 dollars later), the finally correctly diagnosed the problem as a heat exchanger with a hole in it. Brothers initially said they were going to "cut us a deal" by charging us ONLY $1,800 to fix it since they had incorrectly diagnosed the problem twice. We got two other estimates from other contractors for $600 and $650. We called Brothers and told them their price wasn't even in the right ballpark. Then they acted like they were doing us the biggest favor ever by dropping the price to $1,500. Clearly we didn't use those clowns at Brothers to do the repairs after they botched it the first two times. When we called to complain they didn't do anything to offer us refunds/credits for the unnecessary work they did the first two times. Don't EVER, EVER, EVER use this company if you care about 1. having warm air consistently blowing in your home in the winter, and 2. about keeping more of the money in your wallet.

Description of Work: They were called to detect the source of a leak. They found it within 5 minutes of arrival, but couldn't fix it because it had damaged flooring which they don't fix. They were fairly prompt, quick, and reasonably priced.

Description of Work: Basically they came in and cleaned up the mess that another company left. This included tightening electrical contacts left loose by the company and rewiring a thermostat that the other company had miswired and failed to fix in several service calls. The price includes an annual contract on our two systems.

Description of Work: BROTHERS HAS PERFORMED OUR FURNACE AND A/C SERVICE MAINTENANCE FOR MANY YEARS, SO WHEN WE NEEDED A NEW FURNACE AND A/C EVAPORATOR COIL, WE ASKED THEM TO QUOTE. THEIR QUOTATION CAME IN QUITE A BIT HIGHER THAN MANY OF THE A RATED COMPANIES ON ANGIES LIST - EVEN AFTER THE EXISTING CUSTOMER DISCOUNT. AFTER INTERVIEWING SEVERAL ANGIES LIST VENDORS, WE CHOSE ANOTHER CONTRACTOR - AND ALSO WENT WITH THE NEW CONTRACTOR FOR OUR ANNUAL MAINTENANCE ON BOTH FURNACE AND A/C. SORRY, BROTHERS! YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO RETAIN US AS CUSTOMERS!

Description of Work: REPLACED THE FAN VENT ON THE A/C UNIT, AND DID DIAGNOSTIC SVC.

Description of Work: HAD HVAC PROBLEM IN ONE END OF HOUSE ON SECOND FLOOR. REP CAME OUT AND INSPECTED FURNACE AND DUCT WORK TO ROOMS. FOUND THAT FURNACE IS UNDERPOWERED AND LOCATED IMPROPERLY.
