everything went very well. they worked a full eight hours Thursday and Friday. Had to come back Saturday to "finish a few things. be done by noon." at 1:30 they are sitting in their trucks. when asked what was going on they said they were waiting for an invoice!should this not have been ready much earlier as the price had been agreed upon before the job was started? very disappointing ending to an otherwise excellent job.

When I initially contacted them in August 2013, I spoke in detail to Lorraine who is one of the owners. I specifically told her I wanted a leak test because our property manager just kept adding freon at such an alarming rate that I was certain there must be some kind of leak. Lorraine talked me into doing a diagnostic service instead. The service person determined everything was fine and stated a leak test was not needed. My mistake was trusting their "professional opinion" instead of trusting my own judgement. Less than a year later we are once again low on freon. I told Blanton's Mechanical I was disappointed they were charging me another $95 for a diagnostic and suggesting a leak test when that is what should have been done last August. I said I would approve the leak test if they waived the second diagnostic charge since I really felt they should have caught the problem the first time out. They refused. They said there was no record of a leak problem discussed in August. I provided them copies of email communications proving the concern was discussed, but they did not respond. They obviously have a problem with communication since the service person did not know about the conversations I had with Lorraine. I am extremely disappointed with Blanton's Mechanical's inability to stand behind their work and to make a bad situation right. We may be looking at a whole new AC unit which will be their loss of business. We found another company on Angie's list with just as high a rating but twice as many positive reviews as well as a coupon that makes the leak test come out at half the cost. I will never use this company again due to their lack of expertise in diagnosing problems and lack of communication. I gave them the opportunity to make the situation right with a compromise and keep our business but they refused.

They were quick to respond to my call on a Sunday. The technician was prompt and courteous and took the time to explain the problem and do a thorough inspection. He confirmed our suspicions that the unit was a bit low on coolant and had frozen over. He also advised me on potential future problems. All in all he was quick and efficient, fixing the problem in under an hour. I appreciated that the service call was not extra because I needed service on a weekend. I will definitely use them in the future.

The technician was very knowledgeable and thorough. He quickly determined that the reason the AC unit was not working was due to a defective capacitor which he proceeded to replace with a newer capacitor which would be able to withstand higher voltages. After the unit was working, he checked the freon level and made some minor adjustments so that the unit would operate with more efficiency. He made some suggestions on temperature settings and cleaning tips to keep it working in tip top condition. I was also given a discount for being an Angie's List member.

The team came out at time scheduled. Showed them where to put old stove and how I wanted new one installed. I left for work and they got to work. Tes, I trust these folks to leave alone at my house. Came home and everything was just as I had requested. This is a great company. I have had my heating and air and all duct work replaced by Blanton's. I also have them out to service my unit and whole house air filtration system on a regular basis. All the guys are professional, do the work then give me a report. If you are looking for prompt service by professionals call Blanton's Mechanical and Son's!

The service was fine. What I needed done was not covered under the Big Deal. I had them do the repair work as well. They did a good job with all of the work. I was happy with their service.

It was fine. I thought the price was expensive for what was done. It just takes 5 minutes and I had to pay $150 in the addition for the Big Deal. Everything else was okay. The service was really quick. They responded in a timely manner and they are very fast but the cost was a little high.

I noticed the auxiliary heat strips on my heat pump were not working. I called Blanton's and they set up an immediate appointment based upon my schedule. On the day of the appointment, they showed up exactly on time and even called 20 minutes prior to let me know they were on their way. Nate diagnosed the problem correctly and ordered the part. Brian came back to install it and clean the unit. Charleston is my second home so I really need to rely on quality contractors. Blanton's is it for sure and I will be scheduling regular maintenance appointments with them in the future. I highly recommend them and thank them for their excellent work and service. Cheers!

I couldn't be happier with the work and professionalism of the entire Blanton's crew! I had engaged another contractor to take a look at our system when the system seemed to not be able to keep the house heated. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the compressor and other items were pretty much dead. The other contractor promised to send a quote out later that evening to replace the unit, but I never received any follow up. So I found Blanton's here on Angie's List and gave them a call. Jimmy changed his schedule around to come out that same day. He did an extremely thorough assessment, even going up into the attic to analyze the duct work, which none of the other contractors I reached out to for quotes did. I had a million questions, and multiple changes to what became the final quote, and Jimmy and Allie and the entire team were so helpful and responsive. I selected Blanton's to do the work, and within a few days they were at the house to do the work. When they come to do the job, they come with a large team which was fantastic! I couldn't believe how quickly they were able to remove the old system, and install the new one. All the folks on the crew were extremely polite, and they did a very professional installation. Our previous installation (from a different contractor) was sloppy, poorly installed, and a general mess. The difference with Blanton's was night and day. Brian, their team lead, was great and answered all of my questions. From a price standpoint, they beat all the other quotes I got when comparing like models (SEER rating, multiple stages, etc). And the back office folks like Allie will help with any rebates, product registrations, etc. I would highly recommend reaching out to Jimmy and the crew and Blanton's if you have any HVAC needs!

They were great and very responsive. Brian was very professional and thorough. Allie was great to work with on the phone and for setting appts. They came back again to fix something at no charge. I'd definitely call them again and now use them for an annual cleaning so my system isn't in nearly as much trouoble for not having done so in the past.

They were very punctual and completed the whole job in one day. The job include both inside and outside units with a 16 seer rating. It also included installation and another intake vent and new support bands on the attic piping.

Jimmy Blanton came to our house within 24 hours of our inquiry to survey the job. We received the detailed estimates, with several options overnight. We authorized the work on Monday, December 30. Blanton's called back, saying the units would be delivered to them in the afternoon of December 31; did we want them to do the installation on New Year's Day? I told them to do the work on January 2nd, as it was not an emergency situation. On January 2nd at 8:40, three crews arrived at our home, with the units on two box trucks and one trailer. They started to work immediately, in the pouring rain, to replace the A/C condensors, which are mounted on top of a 15 foot high platform. A second crew worked to remove the lower story air handler and associated ductwork. The third crew worked in the third floor attic to remove the upper story air handler and ductwork. The old units were taken out to the trucks to be removed. The new units were then installed, connected, and started up. New thermostats were installed and programmed. All work was completed, clean up was done, and the men left our house at 4:15 PM. on January 2nd! On January 3, Jimmy and a technician came to our house to inspect all the work, and to replace a cracked pump in an associated piece of equipment (not related to the new units). This was done at no charge. The new plenum dampers were adjusted to make the systems deliver temperatures to each of the rooms to suit the owners' preferences. I cannot remember ever having a major system replacement go so smoothly in 40 years of home ownership in four different states. The workmanship is superb, the areas are as clean as a pin, the job was done in one day (which I had estimated would take two or three normally). Response was immediate. The workers were pleasant and professional without exception. Allie, the office contact was polite, helpful and knowledgable. I cannot rate Blanton's Mechanical and Sons highly enough. I cheerfully recommend them to other members, and will use them exclusively in the future.

They came out within 30 minutes on a Friday when I called after 5:30 p.m. My A/C went out the day before an event at my house. He came in, diagnosed it, identified the problem and ordered the part. He managed to get the lowest price on that, too. While waiting on the part, he managed to bypass that process and it worked until the part came in. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the process and avoided any extra charges. I was amazed with his honesty. I wish that I could give them a better grade than I can on here. I've never been more impressed with a contractor.

Their service was okay. They did good work. Scheduling went well and they are able to accommodate to my time frame. Three technicians came out on time for the appointment and it took 8 hours to complete the work.

First they were able to find our house in Givhans and the repairs went great our system was only down 24 hours. The total repair took 3 days. They were punctual and very friendly. There workmanship and knowledge was fantastic and they did not leave a mess. I would highly recomend them and would use them in the future. Very professional.

I cannot say enough good things about Blanton Mechanical! Their Office staff has been wonderful -- including Allie, Amanda, and Lorraine The crews that came out to my house were very good and a delight to be around. I had been having trouble with my Goodman for years --- Finally it was time for a change. Bryan was the first to come out and worked on both systems to keep them going until I could replace the 3 ton unit. He was wonderful and very detailed in his explanation of potential options that were available. Jimmy Blanton was great and provided detailed information on possible replacement units, costs, and time frame for completing. The crew that came out to install the new system included Bryan, Chad, Chris and Aaron -- All great --- I was really on pins and needles as I watched them get the 3 ton outside piece 10 feet off the ground and onto the ledge where it is housed. The unit performed beautifully --- my house has not felt this great (at least on the main floor) in years. A month later I noticed the house was getting warm -- no air --the new system was not running. I called Blanton on a Saturday and they came out within 2 hours ---- Nate checked everything and came back and told me he believed it was the motor blower -- he asked for the booklet and checked all the error codes -- then explained to me what that meant. No he had never heard of this happening. Because it took a special blower motor -- maytag -- they had to order it --- but they were back again Thursday to put it in --- they actually opened a window of time to do the job as soon as the part came in. It was Nate and Chris who handled it this time and they too were wonderful and very knowledgeable. Chris actually brought the part to Nate so there was less travel time. Within little over an hour my system was up and running! Again, Blanton came thru with flying colors. I don't believe anyone is perfect. But I do know the people at Blanton's go out of their way to give you 100% plus all the time. We are blessed to have such a caring group whose job it is to keep us cool when its hot out and warm when its cold. Thanks Blanton, Gail Vaskis

They had to work with our property manager since we live out of the area. They provided the documentation required by our management company and everything went smoothly. The provided a report directly to me which I appreciated. My only complaint is that when I spoke to them on the phone, they told me they would take pictures of the unit for me since I am an out of the area client. I did not receive any pictures and no response to my email requesting them. However, all other communication was quick and professional. I highly recommend them and would use them again.

Jimmy is very professional and is very knowledgeable about HVAC systems--all facets. He found problems done by other HVAC provider and gave provided detailed report on how to solve the problems. He also came back to ensure all work was done to his satisfaction to ensure performance of system. I highly recommend Blanton's Mechanical for all of your HVAC needs. If there is a problem, he will find it and make the corrections needed. An HVAC system is the most important part of a home and it needs to be maintained regularly for maximum performance or it will cost you a lot of money. I will have a service contract for future check ups of the system.

They were great and did a really good job. They were professional and on time. They took care of things in a timely manner and everything is working perfectly. I have even signed up with them to do my maintenance contract. They are considerably lesser priced than the previous company that I was using. I was very pleased with them and would use them again in the future

The entire operation was extremely professional, efficient and well done. I'm very happy with the end result and the ongoing service. A couple months after the install in the middle of summer we had an issue where the refrigerant in the unit froze and it was not able to cool. I left a message for Blanton's at 10pm and a technician was knocking on my door at 7:30am the next morning. The issue was resolved quickly and under warranty.
