Kim Bradley really helped me out of a tight spot on very short notice. Everyone showed up when they said they would and did the work in record time. These were the best drywall guys I've ever seen. The quality of the finished work was excellent; as good as it could have been. It was a little pricey but the quality of work done and overall performance was well worth the price.
Description of Work: Ripped out and replaced 2 thirty ft. drywall seams that had started to pop loose from another contractor's previous install.

The business did okay at reminding me of the visit and showing up on time. The two guys that showed up did not seem to work well together and only took measurements by approximation (large paces). We then received a quote for what was, compared to other work listed on Angie's List, way overpriced. There are examples on this page for similar, or more intensive, work being performed by this business for much less money. When I asked the business for a breakdown in the costs I was told that there was, "no breakdown" and, "that is the cost..." Every business has a breakdown on how jobs are bid: materials, labor, difficulty, distance traveled, etc. The arrogance that was displayed by this group made me realize that I might be looking at poor work at a high price.
Description of Work: Quote for three drywall tape repairs, sanding on a previous repair and painting. The painting was on the downstairs ceiling and three stairwell walls.

I am the owner of Bradley Construction, LLC and I met with this Angie's List member. I was to the appointment on time. I had him the quote in the same day. This member wanted sheetrock repairs in the ceiling and stairwell. He also wanted me to spot paint the repairs with a paint match in the ceiling. I have been doing this for a long time; there are 28 different colors of ceiling white paint that I am aware of. I informed the member that I would not be able to give a perfect spot match. I told the member that he would not be happy unless I painted the whole ceiling. Unfortunately, the dining room ceiling continued into the kitchen. I would have to paint everything or you would see where I had stopped. This is not a handyman company. My goal is to make customers happy. I would not have been successful making this member happy by spot painting. As for a cost breakdown, this is a labor intense job, requiring several trips with very little material. I figured this job on what it would cost to pay my men to do the work. There is no cost breakdown. I was not arrogant to this member in any way. He merely received an answer that he did not like.

Good. They did more work than I imagined. Price was fair. Quote was very professional. During the construction we had a leak problem. When we called they came straight over in the rain to fix the problem. We did have some quality issues initially, but the fixed them all. Did a complete walk-thru and punch list. Good company.

Very professional and responsive to all questions and concerns. They went to great lengths to find the source of the leak, which was not readily apparent, whereas another company that was called out for a quote did not attempt to find the source of the problem and just offered an estimate to remodel the bathroom. Bradley construction tried to find the problem first and sent a plumber out on the weekend at no cost to inspect the bathroom. The work was completed within one week. There was no mess left behind. The person who was doing the tile incidently noticed that both of the toilets upstairs were leaking and replaced the parts for me for just the cost of supplies. They offered to meet me at Home Depot to get the tile and vanity, which was not necessary, but was nice. At the completion of the project it was noted that the shower faucet was not on tight and they came out that night to fix it, even making a trip to the store to get a new one that fit properly. Shower is no longer leaking and I'm very happy with the tile job. I would use this company again.
Description of Work: I had to replace flooring in my bathroom as well as tiling on the wall due to water damage from a leak. They tore out the old tile from around the shower and the flooring. Part of floor that was damaged was replaced. New tile was replaced around shower and on floor. Valve replaced in shower. New vanity put in. The bathroom looks great now.

They were great. Terry came out and took a look and let me know what would work best and what materials to get so I wouldn't burn my feet in the heat and it would stain easily. He broke down the price of everything for me so I knew what I was paying for. I noticed the railing didn't line up quite right with the stairs and banister and asked them to fix it. They didn't argue at all they came out and brought the post down to level and everything is perfect and looks great now. They cleaned up everything after themselves and the gentleman were very pleasant, never used foul langue and I can't say enough great things about them.

It went very well except the stonework was installed by someone they sub-contracted to. He came around dusk and worked in the dark (his wife and infant child sat in the back yard). He barely spoke English. When I question him, and later Kim Bradley, about the red colored grout that doesn't match the brown grout of the rest of the patio. The worker basically just shrugged and Kim said it was change color over time. 19 months later, it's still red. 2 follow-up calls plus 2 emails went unanswered after he got paid. He also worked very slow total job took 6 weeks.

Was good in the beginning; however, I felt as if I had to check behind everything that was done because the was a lack of communication between Kim and some of the contractors. A window was broken and an outlet was not pulled forward after sheet rock was installed. Several attempts were made to have these things corrected. They never were. Painters did a wonderful job taking down wallpaper and reprinting our kitchen.

I liked Dell Porter, the job manager for Bradley. He informed me up front that he and his crew would be unavailable for a time because of their busy schedule, but he kept me informed of his progress weekly. He let me know of the possibility of using a sub-contractor for this job. He emailed me his license, credentials and references without my asking for them. I thought this was very professional of him. The subcontracted crew were very understanding when I told them I didn't like the color of the vanity top and went to replace it the next day. He went to Lowes, and took pictures of another countertop and sent them to my phone. He picked up the new one the next day. The job went well until I found out that the two bottom drawers of the vanity couldn't close and I was told by one of the subcontracted men (possibly John??) that it would cost extra to reroute all the plumbing so they could close. We discussed it and came to an agreement that he would just notch the back of the drawers to make them fit. He also used zip ties to tie the supply tubes to the back of a drawer glide. The subcontractor was going to leave and I noticed there were two holes at the bottom of the base of the cabinet. He wanted to be paid before he left that day. They also hadn't placed the silicone along the moldings to fill the gaps yet. I wanted these two things to be completed prior to my making the final payment. They came back the next day to complete them and I paid them in full. I would recommend Bradley, the parent company, but would not recommend the subcontractor he used on this job.

I will start this review by stating that the original spec of the job was to replace a beam under the house and install french doors. The workers started on the beam and found severe termite damage to the band board on the back of the house. I was called immediately and notified. I appreciated this as some companies wouldn't have bothered. I gave permission to fix this. As they kept peeling off the siding, more and more termite damage appeared. The whole back of the house was in bad shape. They kept me updated and sent me pictures all along the way. I gave them permission to fix all of it. They did a fine job and took pictures and met with me in person to describe what they did. I was very happy with the work and communication up to this point. Beam repairs and termite repairs were completed with some extra structural repairs under the floor of the living room to tie into the new band board along the back of the house. This whole process allowed them to jack the house up a little where it had sagged due to termite damaged wood. This cracked some drywall upstairs, but they patched that up. The french doors were installed. My wife was there for this part and she kept questioning why there were large gaps between the studs and door frame. She also noticed the doors were uneven. They seemed to be in a hurry, but when she questioned the workers...the fixed it. We paid the bill in several steps along the way as they were doing work. I usually don't like to do this, but a lot of supplies went into this job and I had worked with Bradley before. They always seemed trustworthy. After the french doors went in, they asked for the remaining amount. We paid. They said that someone would come out to paint the doors, put shoe molding on the inside of the house and a kick plate on the outside. Weeks passed. The manager actually scheduled separate days for workers to come out and they failed to come out each time. More weeks passed. About a month and a half actually. I called the owner and complained that the job had not yet been finished or inspected. He promised me that he would personally see that the work would be completed within a week and that he would personally come out and inspect the work(I specifically asked for an inspection to the beam and supports they added under the house because the metal jacks they placed seemed crooked and there was a small soft spot in the floor right at the beam location). There was also a light switch box they moved, but installed crooked so that a face plate couldn't go on it. Nothing happened for the next two weeks. We were eating dinner one night and somebody knocked on our door. It was a subcontractor. He asked if anybody had finished the french doors. I said no and asked if the owner or manager had sent him. He said neither. He said that he felt bad that no one had finished the job yet and that he had been assigned to so many jobs by Bradley that he couldn't get over to finish it. He put the molding on the inside and the kick plate on the outside and fixed the ceiling to our screened in porch where they cut out a section to install the french doors. He did a great job. He mentioned that he was going to charge Bradley for this work because he wasn't even supposed to do it. I thought that was odd, but the work got done, so I didn't pay much attention to that statement. I still haven't heard back from Bradley about doing a quality inspection or fixing my light switch. This review could have easily been an A- or B + review, but the communication fell apart at the end and was non-existent after we paid the final amount. I don't know if I'd go back to Bradley for anything in the future. They'd have to really earn my trust back. If I did have them work for us again, I would definitely push for them to inspect all of the work. That is my biggest negative view of the company. It seems like they just assume the workers are doing everything to code. Not once did I see the manager crawl under the house and inspect the work. Granted, he could have while I wasn't home. I was never told about a QI. I guess I'll try to call again to see if I could still get the QI for the work that was done a few months ago.

Dell came out to see what needed to be done and assured me they did that kind of work all the time. He said he would send me a quote by the end of the next day. I never heard from him again. I emailed him after a few days, but he did not answer that either. I expect a little common courtesy from these "highly rated" providers. If they are not interested in the job, why don't they say so? I waited for days before contacting someone else because I thought he would at least honor his word. I have several major projects coming up at my mother's house, and I had hoped I had found a reliable contractor. Now I simply know who to avoid!

Went very well. For comparison's sake, exterior door, storm door, paint, and light fixtures were provided by owner, and we took on the painting of the door/sidelights. Isaac was our main contact. Isaac was great. Polite, and considerate to myself, and my family Cleaned up after himself Creative when he needed to improvise to solve an issue Trustworthy to work inside/ outside of house without supervision Entire job took about 5 days (on/off). We are very pleased, and would not hesitate to hire Terry, and his guys again

Description of Work: We installed a pool last year and wanted to make a bar/entertainment area out of our unfinished basement. We hired Bradley Construction to complete the renovation. My husband and I each had our “own ideas” of what we wanted; Terry Bradley and Bradley Construction turned an unfinished basement into a magnificent entertainment area for family and friends. We strongly recommend Bradley Construction for all of your remodeling needs. They sent out someone who turned out to be related to the owner but did not know at all what he was doing. He sent me a quote but no customized deck design. When I pressed for it saying why would anyone pay for just a quote he got upset. The original quote was supposedly for the middle of the line composite decking and rails, it totaled $8000. He literally emailed me a pencil hand drawn rectangle layout of a deck, unbelievable but I can show you. When I complained the very responsive and understanding office manager helped me. They sent out another representative who knew more about decks but still didn't know any pricing or how to do a CAD design so again the office manager did the job. The design was OK but nothing special and when I received the quote for only 100 square feet more the price shot up over $17,000 with no good explanation other than the original quote was done horribly. This whole process took approximately 6 weeks, showing how I gave them as much opportunity as possible to get my business, this the worst $49 I have ever spent. After giving up and going to another deck company I ended up getting a deck designed (CAD on a tablet) for free at my house during initial visit with exact quotation before the representative left my house. The design was great and the quote was less. The knowledge of the rep gave me a lot of confidence. Two weeks later I have a great deck with enough time left in the summer to enjoy it. Thank you DECK MASTERS, the name is truly representative.

I dealt with Terry Bradley, who is one of the owners of the company. Terry was very professional and personable. An assessment and estimate of the work that needed to be done was done in a timely manner. My phone calls were always returned in a timely manner if Terry was not available at the time I called. I was informed and showed unexpected issues when they arose to be given the opportunity to discuss the situation and to decide whether or not to proceed.

It all went well. However there could have been better communication between management and me. A Rep. showed up and agreed on the construction. The wrecking team came and did their thing quickly and finished doing a nice job. The same day the Lumber showed up. The following day no one showed up or the next day as I anticipated. This during our high 90 degree weather and me with a boat and lakes near by I waited and missed some lake days. So I call and to find out other jobs are being finished because of other weather related issues. They could have called me and told me, lack of comm. on their part. When the crew arrive all went smoothly. Am 95% pleased with the finished project and would use Bradley again. However, I would ride herd on them a little stronger.

The job was to repair or replace a shattered window on the left door of a double storm door for front door of house. Kim showed up on time , was polite and was here for about 5 minutes. I also told him that I had a couple other doors on the house that also could be replaced, but wanted this one fixed first. He gave the door a cursory look over, took some quick measurements and told me he would call later that day or the next(Thur). He did NOT. The day after he was supposed to call (Fri) , I called him. He informed that he could not find a replacement door, but had a company that could custom make one. He would call me Mon with an estimate. He did NOT call. So I called him, was told he was still waiting on some other guy and would call tomorrow. He did NOT, So I called him ; he told me he had to make a call and get back to me. I had in the meantime looked the door over and realized it could be disassembled and the glass might be able to be just replaced. Which I discussed with him when he FINALLY he got back to me; which he then tells me, they don't do repair work and starts giving excuses about insurance etc. The estimate he finally gives me is totally insane, mainly because he is telling me that he has to add in the cost of workman's comp and some other insurance. WOW, HE ACTUALLY EXPECTED TO CHARGE ME WHAT HE HAS TO PAY HIS GUYS FOR INSURANCE in addition to the door and labor to install it! Isn't that just part of the cost of doing business and having your workers insured? I would conclude that , he basically did not want to do the job. But he blew a few thousand dollars worth of work he could have made from me as I had several other jobs that needed to be done here which they supposedly also do ie electrical and fencing work.
Description of Work: After chasing Kim down 3 times since he never called back when he said he would, and finally getting an estimate in which he included the price of his insurance on his workers; the bottom line is I went with another contractor. I would never call these people again for anything nor recommend them to anybody.

I was kept abreast of the entire effort to fulfill the Customer's request. Kim called numerous places to find a door that would work. He provided the Customer with a cost to replace the door. When the Customer was discouraged over the price to replace, the Project Manager suggested Hulsey Glass to make the repair - something we did not feel comfortable doing. The Customer states "WOW HE ACTUALLY EXPECTED ME TO CHARGE ME WHAT HE HAS TO PAY HIS GUYS FOR INSURANCE". The Customer is taking what our Project Manager had to say totally out of context. When the Customer was discouraged over the price and believed it should be much less, our Project Manager was just explaining that we play by the rules and make sure that our Customers are protected from liability. We carry 2 million in General Liability Insurance, an additional umbrella policy for another 2 million in General Liability Insurance and 1 million in Worker's Compensation. Additionally we are a licensed builder, bonded and have a physical commercial building presence. Thus, when you hire us you don't have to worry about getting sued if someone gets hurt on your property, you are protected if damage occurs to your property while we are working and we have to go through training, pass examinations and have the oversight of the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. Thus our operation is in sharp contrast to the majority of handymen without insurance, worker's compensation, testing, licensing, oversight by the State of South Carolina and when you need us to warranty our work, you can find us. However, you can get work performed for less - theoretically. We do appreciate the Customer's feedback and wish him well.

They did all the work requested and checked with me to ensure that I was satisfied with the results. They stated that they would be happy to return and fix anything that was not completely satisfactory once the work was completed.

This was actually the second time this company failed to respond after wasting our time with a site visit. So, we hired another contractor who ripped out and replaced our entire kitchen. We got beautiful brand new cabinets for the entire kitchen and a gorgeous kitchen floor to match!
Description of Work: We had a huge water leak that destroyed our Oak kitchen floors and cabinets. Our ins. company sent us a very low estimate ($2700) that we knew would have to be supplemented after a contractor looked over the job. The Provider came to my home in the beginning of February, stayed for about an hour and said he'd contact his cabinet guy and get back to me with a quote. The rep was really nice, talked a lot and actually knew our neighbor, I was shocked we NEVER heard from him again and never responded to emails. Too bad for them the job ended up being over $19k.

I'm just glad they pulled this "disappearing act" before they started any work! I definitely won't be doing business with this company.
Description of Work: Nobody ever came to do the scheduled estimate! I spoke with Sunny Weems on the phone on a Friday, and set up an appointment for an estimate with Tim Bradley on Monday afternoon. Sunny was very helpful and kind on the phone.

I had called three other contractors and set up estimate meetings with each. All three failed to show up to the estimate meetings. All three failed to even return calls after that. I came to Angie's List and saw Bradley Construction at the top of the list in good reviews. I called Vaughn(project manager) and he came out the same day to give an estimate. He was very professional and answered every question I had. He had his painters there the next week and they finished the job in under a day. I would definitely use Bradley Construction again.
Description of Work: We had drywall tape repaired on a vaulted ceiling joint. Due to the amount of repair needed, the whole ceiling was painted afterwards.
