They mostly sell pine straw. It's a southern phenomenon. People out here use the long pine needle as mulch. They actually pay money for it. I really liked the firewood because a lot of times when I get firewood I have to buy cords of lumber, but they sell it in smaller amounts. I don't run my wood stove that much out here. I used to live in west. Most places I had to buy a cord or half a cord and that would run me over $100 and it was just more than I needed. It's nice that they sell smaller amounts. I dealt with them for the first time. They were great. They came here on time. They put the pine straw and the firewood where I told them to put it. I didn't have to drag it myself anywhere. They were great guys to work with. I would tell people that they provide a good product in a timely fashion. Overall, they were excellent. Their price was average. I didn't do a lot of shopping around. Their quality, responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism were excellent. I would use them again. In fact, I may have to order some more wood.
Description of Work: I got some firewood from Nicholson Farms along with pine straw in September.

On the day of the scheduled delivery, I called the company office when the delivery had not been made by 1 pm. The person who answered the phone identified herself as the mother of the owners -- Jason and Ryan. She assured me they were on schedule for my delivery and that they would be here very soon. I emphasized how much I appreciated her reassurance because my husband had taken a day off work to do yard work, including spreading of these pine needles and that we had scheduled this delivery in advance to make sure all would go well. At 3:45, I called again. She, at that point, stated that they were supposed to deliver to our house, but that she was "only the mother" and sometimes children don't listen to their moms. At 4:30, we still had no pineneedles. I called again and no one answered, but I left a message. The delivery was never made. On Monday, I received a call from Jason who offered me pineneedles for 10 cents less a bale. He told me that they had lots of deliveries scheduled for the holidays and didn't get to many of them. He said he thought that would make me feel better that I wasn't the only one. All this told me is that this company does not take its commitments seriously and cannot be counted on. I like supporting a family-owned business, but not one run like this. A neighbor had a similar experience, except, after missing her scheduled delivery, they told her she would have to wait 1 1/2 weeks because they were booked. We had ordered from them several times before. The quality was inconsistent -- sometimes very good, more often fair to average. We will not use them again!
Description of Work: I scheduled the delivery of more than 100 bales of pine needles 2 weeks ahead of time. A few days prior to the delivery date, I called and confirmed that everything was set for delivery on the agreed-upon date. I was assured everything was set.
