The Realtor was totally dishonest in representing me. As a buyer's agent she should have insisted on independent licensed roofer opinion as of the condition of the purchased property. She relied on the statements of a general contractor hired by the Seller's agents stating the roof is free of leaks. Whom is the contractor going to support- the Buyer or the Seller? I ended up buying a house with severely damaged roof- something that was disclosed to me 3 months after purchase by my termite bond inspector. My realtor had no interest in protecting my investment- she was working on closing much higher priced homes at the same time. A house sold for 113.500 was not a big deal. And she is lying that I have replaced the roof, i simply didn't have the means for a new roof after purchase, leave aside the shock of buying a house with damaged roof. As you well know, the roof is the most important element of a house structure. The home inspector recommended by HER failed to assess the true condition of the roof, observing it "through binoculars". Don't forget folks, these so called professionals work in pairs. I will file a complaint with every association of realtors in the Hilton Head area/SC and also with the Real Estate Commission in Charleston SC. This agent didn't even apollogise for the harm she has caused me. Please make sure the roof of your dream house is inspected independently and your realtor has your best interest at heart.

Total disaster. Was not able to close on the house until January, 2012. Did not work effectively with my lender, Bank of America. As a first time home buyer, i depended heavily on my agent. The house I bought turned out with a damaged roof, she never took care to protect my interest. The closing attorney SHE recommended was worse than her- i had to fire him and hire a new attorney, adding to the cost of my contract. Although she would tell you presumably i didn't qualify for financing, total b/s. I had excellent credit 750+ and was prequallified by Bank of America. They needed documentation from her, which she was too late providing, resulting in my first contract being cancelled by the Seller. Buyers beware!

Joan M Kelly runs one of the major firms. She is a very, very good Realtor. Very excellent. I would give her straight A's. When we were selling our house in North Carolina, and we were selling it for 3 years. We kept reducing the price trying to sell it. Every time we were coming through the area we would call her up and she would meet us. Even on a Sunday she would meet us. I find that to be exemplary. Not many people would give up their Sunday or their day off. She is a stellar example. Every time we had to reduce the sale of our house we had to find new homes that would fit into our budget. We like Joan very, very much. Anything I can do to help her I would.
