We had an overall wonderful experience with Williford Roofing, and couldn't have been happier to work with them for the first time. We were recommended to them from a good friend and so we put in a request for a full roof replacement on our 2 story home. They got back to us very quickly and provided us with the information we needed to make a decision on what to do. They were able to give us a very affordable estimate and a work schedule that fit into both of our schedules. They arrived on time and got the work done quickly but accurately. We were very satisfied with their high level of customer service before, during and after the roof has been installed!

I am a do-it yourselfer! I have been making repairs to my roof myself for 25 years the roof was 29 years old. I know roofing. The job was too big for me alone. I have heard good things about Tony Williford as my neighbors all around me went with Williford. I called Daniel at Williford for my first estimate. Daniel answered all of my questions .He told me to use his quote as a baseline for other quotes. 3 months later I called him back with 7 other quotes, “Williford was the lowest price” with the best reputation. He pulled the necessary permits and was able to start one week later. Daniel gave me great advice on the best type of roofing shingles to buy both for durability and looks. And it does make a difference. Awesome! Everything went so smooth. Deven, the project manager kept me informed during the entire process and was very knowledgeable, I would highly recommend him! They showed great pride in their workmanship. They did a great job of cleaning up when the project was completed. We couldn't be more pleased with our choice to hire Williford Roofing. Their roofing crew is first class. They were on-time, friendly, and didn't leave a mess. My wife and I love our new roof and it really looks great. I am so pleased with Williford Roofing they are exemplary in every way from first contact through final wrap-up. They went above and beyond they are an AWESOME company! Thank you Tony Williford ! You made my most important investment in my home, "a great experience.!"

Had trouble getting them to come out but finally did do an estimate to repair a leak. During the next big rain, the roof leaked again in the same place. Called the office and the receptionist said she would have him call. A week later, he had not done so and, with a leaking roof, I contacted a bigger and more professional company who eventually took care of my roof. On the TENTH day after my original call to Mr Williford, he called and left me a voicemail (I still have it on my phone) that he "just found this note on his desk to call." Having the roof already taken care of, I had no need of his services. Eventually, I did call him back and told him 10 days to respond to a leaking roof he had supposedly fixed was unsatisfactory, and I wanted at least a partial refund. His reply was that, for all he knew, it was a new leak. I sent him pictures of the leak to show him they were the same as where his work was performed. I never heard from him again. Also, his company broke off a prong in my outdoor outlet while using a saw and took my personal tarp with them. I would NEVER recommend this business.

Called to set up and appointment and was told that a person would call to schedule a time. That person never called so we called them back. We finally got the call to come out and they did show up when they said they would. However, when they showed up, they did not have a ladder to get into the attic which was surprising that a roofing company truck would not have a ladder. He did get on the roof and said he would call us later that day to set up a time to come back out on Monday after the weekend. It has now been over a month and we still never heard back from anyone with the company. It was obvious they weren't interested in our business. We never got a diagnosis or a quote for a fix.

Opened the roof to our home to attach porch roof. We warned them several times of an approaching storm. Left a tarp over the hole. Heavy rains overnight. We woke to water rushing through our ceiling light fixture onto our hardwood floors. Attic insulation soaked. And this is a roofing company!?

The issue was simple - got two estimates originally. One for $650 and one for $2850. When I asked if the lower estimate covered everything needed, was told yes. A tenant of mine (who is more knowledgeable of construction) said the lower estimate was impossible and the higher estimate seemed high but more in line with what to expect. When I had asked for clarification, received none - until an invoice for $650 came in the email. I paid. The work looked really bad - obviously needed more done. So - after all this, the follow-up estimate was again $2850. Called and reminded them that I had already paid $650 for part of the work so what would be the final charge once the remainder was done. I was told that of the $650, they would deduct $300 for a chimney cap (although the cost of the cap was $400) and would not deduct anything for the previous labor but would deduct another $100 - for taking so long to get back to me. When I questioned that, received an explanation that was meaningless to me - I do not think (this is my opinion) that he was even trying to explain but maybe his autocorrect changed the meaning. Even my tenant who knows construction said it made no sense. I am having the work done by another company. Too bad, have several rentals and Williford's prices are competitive. But they do not do what they say and not worth the aggravation.
Description of Work: This is a follow-up to an earlier review as a person from the company called, said he had read the email chain between his company and myself and agreed there was poor communication and responsiveness on their part. Was very pleasant and said he wished to get the job completed and, if agreeable to me, he would visit the site, determine what had been and still needed to be done, and after working up an estimate, price it as reasonably as possible given my difficulty getting any answers leading up to then. Sounded great to me - I basically just wanted the job completed. He did go out and did let me know he needed another person on his team to look also. I forget the reason but recall it sounded very appropriate - no problem. He would likely go out that day but possibly the next. I emailed two days later and learned the estimator was not available but he would be in touch. I then got an email from the estimator he would be going out the following day - a Friday. On Tuesday, I got an estimate which was one of the original two estimates. (If you saw my earlier review, I received two wildly different estimates and knew the lower could not be right but had been assured it did cover everything I needed) I emailed the first person who called me for clarification.

I do NOT recommend using Williford Roofing! I recently hired Williford to re-roof my home. The project was poorly handled and mismanaged from the beginning. I could not be home the day that they scheduled my job, and I was told by Williford's manager that they would text me pictures and call me if they found rotted plywood that needed to be replaced beyond the 3 sheets included in my contract. Monday morning I was contacted by Williford's project manager telling me that I needed 25 sheets of plywood replaced. I told him that sounded excessive, and to text me some pictures so I could see the damage. He replied that the crew had already removed all of the boards. I immediately contacted the manager to let him know that his crew was not following our agreement. He said that he would have the project manager stay there all day to make sure I was contacted if anything else came up, and he had instructed the crew to cut half sheets in order to reduce the number of plywood sheets that would have to be used. Neither of those things happened. 25 sheets of plywood went on my roof without my consent at a cost of $990. When I asked for the removed plywood to be left behind so that I could inspect it, I was told that it was in their contract to remove all of it, and they would not leave anything for me. Bottom line, if this company tells you anything, get it in writing, because their word is worthless!

This is an amendment to a negative review I made earlier this week. I did receive a call from Tony and he was very apologetic about the problems we had in communications and scheduling that caused me to write a negative review. He said they had reviewed in house how to avoid similar mistakes. He asked me how they could make it right. We discussed it at length and decided the best course of action was to re-roof the garage (which is what Jake had recommended). Today, as promised, they showed up on time with a full crew. They immediately went to work tearing off existing shingles. In the process, they found a little bit of rotten wood and some missing flashing, which they replaced. I watched the men periodically and saw the details being handled properly. I am satisfied that I have a great new roof. Their quality is top notch. I am glad Tony reached out and helped make it right.

I wish I had read all the reviews before contacting Williford Roofing Inc. They apparently have no regard for their customers. I am selling my home to purchase another. Roof work on the garage was required per home inspection. Contacted Williford and they sent an estimator on February 6th who walked around and measured. He then showed me a quote for $800 which I accepted and signed. He said it would be one and a half weeks tops. He told me “Tony” would call and schedule a time (at that time he mentioned that “Tony” was becoming a minister and was starting a church and was very busy). “Tony” had not called after a couple of days so I called him. Receptionist told me the same story about the church and indicated it may be a while before I heard from him. It did indeed take 24 hours. He told me when he did call that his estimator was wrong and it would take a couple of weeks from this conversation before they could get to me. In the third week, “Tony” called and said they would be here February 27th (fourth week). Midday on the 27th Tony called and said someone called in sick and they would be there the 28th. Someone called midday and said they would be there in the afternoon. No one showed. On March 1st two guys showed up around 11:00. After about 20 minutes I saw the lead person throwing a ladder in his truck and quickly leaving. The second person, Jake came to the door and said they couldn’t do the repair and he recommended having the whole garage reroofed. He said obviously their estimator had not gotten on the roof to inspect. He gave me a ballpark estimate and said “Tony” would call (after mentioning the whole church story again). Six days later I still haven’t heard from “Tony”. Unless you crave frustration and delay, do not contact this company.

One roof was fine and the other needed a few shingles replaced. Because of the storm, they were very busy but I think they got to us in a reasonable amount of time. The work was done by 10 days after the damage. We've used Williford Roofing several times in the past. Their work has always been good. Their prices might seem a little high but I've found them to be professional and reliable.

It took a month and several calls to get someone to come out. Finally, Jason came out, looked at the problems, and took pictures. He seemed professional and that we were on the schedule. An appointment was made for a second person to come out and give us an estimate to do the work.......he never showed up and after several calls to the co. office and leaving messages with Jason they never called us back. We expected companies would be busy and to be put on a waiting list OR SOMETHING, but to string us along? I think we were dumped because it isn't an entire new roof job.
Description of Work: Two issues: We need a solution to our ridge vents because in extreme wind events water is blown in our attic and comes down through the ceilings and we have a second floor balcony that needs additional flashing, (or something) because the pan apparently over fills with rainwater and it backs up into the house soaking interior walls.

I was e-mailed both the quotes within 3 days, and chose to go for a new roof. With the hurricane hitting us Oct.8 2016, they told me that it might be 4-6 weeks before a crew would be out there. They started the new roof on Oct. 25th. I really appreciated the fact that they were honest with the time frame. The new roof looks amazing, they also put down new flashing for my chimney too. A great bunch of people, and the office folks were very friendly and helpful too.

Williford Roofing assessed the problem and recommended two options - spot application of a flat roof sealant product in the area where the leak was occurring or apply the sealant to the entire roof. While applying to the entire roof would provide a warranty, Williford expected that the lower cost, spot application would resolve the issue. We opted for that, with the understanding that if the smaller application did not resolve the issue we could later have the entire roof repaired. So far, the work has held up very well and no leaks have been noted despite heavy rain. Another roofing contractor had previously attempted repairs but did not stop the leak. Thanks for the good work.

We contacted Williford Roofing in February to get an estimate for the job. The estimate was accepted and work began in late March. Within a couple of hours it was discovered that there was more rotten wood than originally known. We were told that the fireplace insert and chimney would have to be removed in order to replace the wood under it. Unfortunately This would require pulling the insert from inside the living room which would require removing the mantle, surround and granite. We were left to find people to perform these removals. After finally finding people to do the removals, a chimney company removed the insert. It then took several calls and emails to get Williford to come back and finish the job. The chimney had been covered by a tarp while this was all going on and it had rained a few times. The first thing the Williford crew did was to pull the tarp dumping about 30 gallons of water down the chimney flooding our living room. The construction continued for another week. I provided them with a sample of the house paint but the paint they used was a poor match. It was the end of June when they finished. When the fireplace company came to replace the insert they found that the Williford crew had used the wrong measurements for the insert brackets and had to remove them replace them in the correct place. Even the fireplace company said that I would be wise to not use this company again.

There was an issue with something. The ceiling was leaking in our house and no one could figure out where the water was coming. So those guys they actually sprayed water from the hose to see the other leakage. And we wanted them to re do that thing again like spray water so that they will make sure that everything is completely sealed because he had to call a guy to fix the imperial like ceiling inside the house.

We are in Texas and had to trust this company to do the job properly. And that they did. We do not have the luxury of going to SC to see the new roof, but all my neighbors and our tenant tell us was a great job they did. Their rates were the most competitive and prior to the job, they provided a detailed bid. We recommend this company and will use them again. Unfortunately, we have dealt with many other local companies in Summerville that sadly because we are not able to supervise the job, they took advantage of us and either did not do the job as promised or added extra services to the invoice for services they did not provide. But this was NOT the case with Williford. They did the job as if we were right there. It is good to find a company you can trust.

The actual workmen were very nice, but the first planned visit, they did not show up. When I called, I was told there had been an illness in the workers family, but no one called me to cancel. I had made special plans to stay home and meet him that morning. We rescheduled and everything went as planned after that, but the work was just OK in that the shingles didn't match very well (though they did fix the leak...the most important part!) and the interior work was OK, but they had to come back a second time to repaint...first time didn't look good at all. I went with them because friends had used them for roofing and were happy...but I thought their prices were very high for the time and work involved, and their estimator was not negotiable and a bit belligerent. But when you have a leak, and it needs to be fixed, you go with the guy who can get it done ASAP!

We first met Willford roofing at the home show in January and spoke with them about our chimney needing to have some rotten wood replaced. They contacted us again a several weeks later and we got their quote and decided we would use them. They were not the most expensive nor the least but on the upper end. Exceptionally nice on the phone and through email. After getting dates set the gentleman showed up on the Monday to do the work he explained his helper had left and it may take a little longer but he would be done by the end of the week which was fine as we weren't really pressed for time. After he had demoed some of the wood and gotten to the inside of the chimney he called my wife and I so we could see some of the damage on the inside of the chimney and was telling us we should consider having a vapor barrier installed also but that it would cost extra. I guess he didnt read the contract as it included a vapor barrier along with replacing the wood. The under boards were in pretty sad shape and he recommended us to replace them and I agreed so the the price went up, but we had agreed to replacing the boards with plywood. When the boards were actually replaced it was with OSB board not plywood. No biggie in my book. The exterior work was excellent and he did a fantastic job with paining and clean up and was truly a nice and friendly guy the whole time. However when all was said and done the part of the chimney that was inside my sunroom still has the old siding wood as it was not replaced. While a little pricey and little much on the upsell it was quality work. However we won't be calling Williford again for a bigger job. maybe for smaller jobs as the workman was exceptionally nice and knowledgeable.
