Great service provider! They helped me find the right granite for my counter. I had provided them rough dimensions, but they came to the house to verify. The quoted and actual price stayed the same. They arrived on time for the install. Crew was professional and left the project area clean.

Workmanship was poor. The stone countertop was chipped when dropped and the chip was glued back. The hole for the hot water tap was not cut right, and the hot tap had to be installed backwards. The cabinets were assembled without glue, held together only by nail gun brads. This is not in according to industry best practice. The drawers in the cabinets were not mounted with all screws, and half the drawers do not operate smoothly (sticking par way closed). The transition pieces (crown moulding) between the ceiling and the cabinets were not even, leaving gaps. Only one of the crew spoke some English, and when issues were addressed he did seem not understand what was wrong. As an update, 5 months after the installation, the drawers still stick, and the crown moulding gap has increased. Stone City was contacted through the contractor, but they did not show up at the scheduled time to fix the problems.
Description of Work: Stone City was contracted to install counter, cabinets, kitchen island and stone countertops.

(as per my daughter-in-law who had the work done at her home) I will begin by saying that the finished product looks great and we are happy with the counter tops. My husband and I came from the construction trade and we have a lot of experience with remodeling projects. That being said, I would not use this company again. Frankly, if it wasn't for Janice in the office, I would have given this company a D. The other 2 ladies in the office wouldn't return my calls. To begin with, we requested that Stone City come to our home to measure and give us a quote. The owner came and measured. He provided a quote immediately. We were really happy with that because we couldn't get the other company we were considering to come measure until we verbally confirmed that they had the job. However, the owner then used the time in our home to try to get my husband and me to shop at his discount website, offering a leaf blower at $40. I felt this was very unprofessional since it had nothing to do with the service we had requested. Not a huge thing though. He was very pleasant. He told me that he had measured so that damage from removing the old laminate counters would be covered by the quartz backsplash. The installers arrived within the scheduled time frame. Neither of the installers spoke English. This made communication difficult because all discussions with individuals in the same room needed to be routed via phone calls through their main office. Our counter tops came in 4 pieces (including the island). The smallest piece went between the wall and the stove. Unfortunately, this piece was too wide and did not fit in the intended space. With no prior discussion of the issue with us, the installers knocked a 4-inch high hole in the kitchen wall behind the lower cabinet, beginning at the front of the counter space and going all the way to the back wall, so that the excess could be installed INSIDE the wall. I tried to ask him what he was doing, but all he could say was, and quot; It's no problem.and quot; I didn't agree. I got on the phone immediately and spoke to Janice. She had someone in the office call the installer to find out what was going on. She called me back and told me that the the reason given for what happened was that the wall wasn't straight. (I checked the wall with a straight-edge and found it to be perfectly straight.) When I challenged their reasoning, it was explained that the side wall and the back wall weren't square. (Again, I checked and found this claim also to be false.) Janice was at a loss. She told me that it was a and quot;common practiceand quot;. (Having counter tops installed in past homes, it was something I had never witnessed before.) I also had not seen either of the men use a level anywhere but where the two large pieces came together. HEADS_UP: Janice told me that they don't level the counter tops in a standard installation and if I wanted that done, it would be an extra charge if they had to shim anywhere to make the counters level. I was shocked. The installers caulked the sink and backsplash, and quot;cleaned upand quot;, and left. Their caulking job was messy. I had to scrape silicone off of my new SS sink and the top of the backsplash needed to be re-caulked (by me) because the bead was shoddy and cracked within a few weeks. As I was cleaning up, I found all of the screws that held the original countertops had been left inside the cabinets. I will say that the seam where the two large pieces meet is only noticeable if you know where to look and you look really hard. On that, they did a beautiful job. The backsplash was shorter than we were told it would be and it does not come up far enough to cover where the old backsplash was. Stone City's plumber came later to hook up the faucet and install a new garbage disposal. He was a nice guy. He did good work. We paid Stone City a SEPARATE fee of $250 for him to do that work for us. About 2 weeks later, I called Stone City to order sink grates for the 60/40 sink they installed. Janice told me the grates would be $100 because they were custom-made for my particular sink. I thought that was pricey, but agreed. It took almost a month to get them because the lady in the office (NOT Janice) didn't actually put the order in until a week before I got them. (I had to call several times to request and ETA on the grates. Janice didn't have the info because she didn't do the orders.) I did finally get them. They fit very nicely and seem to be good quality. I gave them an overall C because they have Janice working in the office. She is the only one I worked with following the measure who seemed to care about us as customers. The A for Punctuality is ONLY because the installers showed up on time. Other than Janice, I couldn't get a phone call returned from anyone. Janice brought up the Responsiveness grade from an F. Professionalism was given a D because... well, read the review. Janice brought that grade up, but she could only do so much.
Description of Work: Removed and hauled away old laminate counter tops, installed new quartz counter tops, provided and installed new stainless steel sink. Their plumber installed a new faucet and garbage disposal (purchased elsewhere).

Janice (in the showroom) was very helpful; however, I can't say positive things about the installation crew. They were scheduled to show up between 2 and 3 PM. I had specifically requested an afternoon installation time. At 11AM they showed up (I was in the shower) with no advance notice and claimed no one in their office told them what time to be here. They acted displeased when they had to wait for me to prepare the kitchen and remove items from the existing countertops, etc. Installers left the front door to my house standing wide open on multiple occasions (so now we're cooling the great outdoors in addition to letting in flies and mosquitos) and moved furniture without returning it to its original location when finished with the installation. When I inquired (of the caucasian installer) about the best way to clean the granite, he did not know. I don't expect them to be experts but was surprised that he didn't even know how to care for a product he installs.

I was a little bit disappointed with them. I read about them. Just watch them, their service wasn't what I expected. Their price was really good. Their responsiveness was one of the things I'm disappointed with. I was very disappointed in there. Anything else was fine at how we say to come to an appointment.
Description of Work: They were trying to set up an appointment. To make a long story short, it didn't happen. They never worked for me.

Great service. I called ahead and they had the sink waiting for me when I arrived.
Description of Work: I needed a replacement sink for an installation that they did about three years ago because I dropped something on it and it cracked. This was not their fault, I just needed a replacement part. They were familiar with what I needed and supplied it immediately.

It went very well. I used Stone City based on recommendations from friends and was very satisfied with their service. I contacted a total of five fabricators and Stone City was very competitive in their pricing. I gave them my budget for this project and they stayed within my budget with their suggestions. Everyone I dealt with at Stone City was very friendly and cooperative and even more importantly to me returned calls to me promptly. They kept appointments on time and used very good installers. When I am ready to install granite in the bathrooms, I will definitely use Stone City.

They showed up three and a half hours late to do the install. After the install was complete I noticed the caulking of the backsplash was done poorly. I called the company to have it fixed, three weeks later they still have not shown up to repair it correctly.

They were very nice and put up with us pushing back the installation by two months. When we finally got around to speaking to them again, we chose another granite and some remnants. We did the counters in two bathrooms and the entire kitchen for under $3000. And it looks amazing. They were very professional and knowledgeable... and most of all, inexpensive. There isn't another company that can come close to price or quality (trust us because we looked very hard).
