Terrible. The company fired the two guys that botched my job, although this was unknown to n=me. I have spent the last 3 1/2 years trying to get them to fix the issues. The phone in the elevator never worked, all types of problems. The clincher was i went to tell them I no longer wanted their services to find out that the back of the work order was a 5 year contract. They now want to extract $750 for me to cancel the contract. One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with.

Terrible. Worst company I have ever dealt with and one of the most dishonest. Went to cancel my miserable service after 31/2 years to learn that they have me held into a 5 year contract which no one mentioned. Apparently, the contract was on the back of the work order I signed. Anyone that uses this company has been forewarned.

This review is not a reflection on the consultant provided who was courteous and knew enough to complete the scope of work. My issue stems from paying 6k+ for a security system based on the recommendations of Charleston Security Systems and they not standing behind it. While still under the manufacture warranty the system stopped working. After working with the manufacture, they determined the DVR/NVR was defective, They also said in order to get it replaced, I would have to work through Charleston Security Systems, since I bought the product through them. No problem Charleston Security Systems said, we will be happy to help, and it will only cost you $95.00 per hour for support. Seriously, you want to make a profit, on a product that you recommended and sold me that did not even last 1 year. Even after discussing how unfair and unhappy I was about this practice, Charleston Security Systems refused to budge and sent me a bill that day. I am sure Charleston Security Security will claim I signed a contract stating this policy, but I really did not think they would have me sold a defective piece of equipment, and that they would not stand behind it. I would have no problem paying an hourly fee if this was of my doing, but it wasn't. So for a lousy $95.00 Charleston Security System would rather make a now ex customer very unhappy and receive this well deserved "F"

Great experience! I have never had a camera system at my home prior but I had Charleston Security Systems install a FLIR camera system all around the exterior of our home. The video can be accessed on my iPhone and iPad, as well every TV in our house. The security system installed also came with a mobile app that controlled all of our door locks and entry lights. The service tech spent extra time helping me set up my personal settings because I wasn't 100% tech savvy. I couldn't be happier with my security and camera system and I believe they are already doing an installation at my neighbors house also.

I needed an alarm system when I moved to Charleston and they came out the next day and made it happen. Would recommend to any of my friends in the area.

I have them for my business. The salesmen makes promises and the company doesn’t honor them. One repair for one $40 sensor that took them less than 15 minutes almost $300.

I wanted to be able to lock and unlock my home from my phone, as well as watch my driveway and backyard via a camera, along with the installation of an alarm. Charleston Security Systems was able to get me set up quickly and efficiently. He was on time, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about what set up worked best for me. I'd highly recommend.

Really glad we contracted with Charleston Security Systems. Other national and local companies were more interested in a "one size firs all" approach....not interested in helping us with multiple, unique needs.....but just trying to stick their system in and sign us up with a monitoring contract. CSS is a smaller, hungrier, yet extremely qualified, local company who took time to listen to us and customize a plan. The company owner, Dean spent time with us and arranged , not only for a high quality security/monitoring system to be installed, but also a digital deadbolt and security/motion lighting. They worked to meet our needs, priced the project fairly, were professional and prompt. I highly recommend them.

WONDERFUL

Dean Rommes, owner/operator of Charleston Security, is as conscientious as he is professional. The work was done on time, neatly, and efficiently and at a great price! He kept my prices down by showing me what I did need and what was really not necessary. We live in a sort of secluded spot and I am disabled so I felt we needed some extra security. And Dean's monitoring prices beat everyone else in town! He also did the install on a school that I worked for and gave them a great price as well. His prices beat the other estimates we had by about 40%. He is fair, personable, honest, knowledgeable, and works hard! You cannot ask for more than that!!! I highly recommend Dean and Charleston Security!!!
