TruGreen Lawn Care - 5112

I'm very happy. I had a couple of spots that were kind of not showing really good they were almost grey. Someone came out to look at it and by that weekend a guy was there laying sod. I think I've had them for 6 years.

They are a full service lawn company. The workers are well trained because they all do something a little different. They are very responsive.

We have used them for the last 3 years.

My lawn looks terrible. I totally agree with another reviewer regarding Trugreen (4/11/17) - Scott Lawn care was good but when they switched over it was awful. I tried to get things resolved, but it was horrible. Would not use again.

The worst of the bunch!! Hostile take-over of a great company, Scotts LawnCare. This was our 4th or 5th service since take-over. All gates on my property were left open and my dogs escaped. They were old house dogs that do not recognize the dangers of cars. Waited 30 minutes on-hold to talk to company rep and FINALLY talked to someone in Oklahoma! Save your yard & animals! Go with another company!!!

Good service but when Scott's was bought out by trugreen they did not honor previously quoted price. Too much bureaucratic red tape trying to resolve.

We had a really good service with them. They come out and do the work. They're fine with my yard.

I have had multiple problems with my lawn since I purchased my home in 2010 (dead spots, improper grading/drainage). Though I employed another service to grade and install Zoysia sod, problems continued and worsened after the ice storm. My brother recommended that I find a professional lawn service to give my lawn regular TLC - he is a staunch DIY man so I knew he felt this was worth the money! I reviewed Angie's List and selected Scott's which I have been using for several months. It's too early to see results from the treatments but I expect that the results will be amazing when spring comes. I can speak to the service I have received from the staff as it has been flawless. I like that I receive an email and written copy of the personal treatment by the technician who treats my yard. It's not a lot of technical stuff, but a description that one would have in a conversation. Though I've never met him, it is reassuring to have a photo so that a homeowner could identify who is providing a service. I have had a couple of occasions to call the office, and each time the ladies were warm and helpful. It is a pleasure to work with people who are honest, dependable, knowledgeable and friendly. I had a previous (well known) service for about 10 years. They changed hands and it quickly went down hill. Lawn became a mess with weeds and other issues. Suspect they were spraying watered down applications. Management refused to talk with me about the problems. Fired them and hired Scotts. By following year, could tell a big difference. Few weeds and lawn (Bermuda) is very thick and healthy. Have been responsive when I wanted something done. Will continue this service as long as the quality and responsiveness remains this good.

We’ve been using them for about the last 7 years. I don’t have any dislikes about them. I haven’t had any problems with them. Whenever I call them about something, they are responsive and they pay attention to the customer’s needs. At least they give you the attention that you desire and make sure that they are getting a full understanding of what the issue it.

There was some question of what type of grass we had and whether or not it needed dethatching. We consulted our yard maintenance company and then called Scott's to get their opinion. Charles came out and arrived on time. We went over what type of grass we have, the needs of the grass and addressed problems with soggy areas of the yard. Highly recommend Scott's. We have two dogs and they are NOT street smart. Scott's is always on time and understand our need to keep our pets safe. We are able to keep our dogs inside when we know that Scott's is coming.

They do all of the lawn treatments for us. Aeration, chemical treatments, etc. We have been very pleased with their service. They are always prompt and call before they come. Our yard has really improved since we started using them.

It went exceedingly well. All I had asked was for the lawn to be fertilized, but they trimmed a bush for me as well as gave me advise on the easier way to handle the lawn. Very professional and helpful. They worked quickly and accomplished more in an hour than others have in a half a day.

The grass looks great! We are happy with them. We have been using them for several years now. We have had no issues. They always leave something on the door explaining exactly what they did which I like. The price depends on the size of the lawn. My lawn is about 3 quarters of an acre and it’s about $100/month, about $1,050/year. One time I had a problem with billing and I called them and they took care of it immediately which I was thankful for.

Excellent service. Arrived on time, answered questions, and provided detail bill when completed.

The Scotts Lawn Service workers are very courteous. They always leave a little sign when they come by. They leave the bill in a little envelope on the door. They're very good. I like their service. They're timely and get the job done while I'm at work.

They were late and inconsisent about showing up when they promised to do the job. This started from day one and we are still wainting for work that we have paid for to be done.

I've been a customer for over 10 years. I noticed that the last 3 years my yard is full of poa annum and weeds. I called several times to complain.I was told to wait until the heat burned it out. (They seem to no longer want to spray the expensive preemegence to prevent poa annum.) This year my yard looked terrible. I called and asked to speak to a manager. None available. I stated that I wanted a manager to see my yard. They stated that they would send out a tech and manager on Thurs. I called Thurs morning and restated my request. There was some hemming and hawing and I was told I would be called about an hour before visit. A technician showed up soon after. He didn't know anything about a manager visiting. As of Friday morning I haven't heard from anyone so I called and closed my account. I then called Scotts and will try their service. Overall, TruGreen doesn't understand customer service or attempt to keep customers. They are getting as bad as Comcast.

Did a good job and are keeping the weeds out of the lawn.

We requested a quote and advised their representative, Reese Randolph, that we would be soliciting other prices and to call us back in a week. That request triggered an avalanche of follow-up calls starting the next day, at all times of the day, at work, home, cellphone, completely ignoring our request to callback in 1 week. After we categorically, and in no uncertain terms, stated to those calling never to call back, that we would never do business with TruGreen, and blocked their number on our cellphone, Reese had the gall to come to the house and place a door hanger solicitation on our front door. After that affront, the call backs stopped, otherwise we considered legal action by filing a restraining order. This company practices what customer service should never be, the absolute inability to listen and comply with customer requests. We concluded that their service would suffer from the same liability.

The technician comes on a regular basis every other month. Treats the yard with whatever is needed for the time of the year. I started with the company a few years ago and I had large areas of weeds, they came out and treated the yard and in no time the weeds were under control. I have used the company ever since and have been very happy with the results.

We have used Trugreen since 2007 for lawn fertilization and treatment. Overall the yard has looked OK. Our grass is Empire Zoysia which is about as bullet-proof a grass variety as you can have in this part of SC. We have had some poa annua (unwanted variety) that has sprung up even with the pre-emergent treatment that they applied each year, but we have been able to dig this up before it spreads. In 2012, we contracted with them to provide tree and shrub treatment as well. We have been very unhappy with the results. Several of our shrubs (dwarf yaupons) contracted a fungus infection (undiagnosed or treated by Trugreen). We had to dig them up and replace them with another shrub. We have a "burning bush" which got scale infestation even after Trugreen said they had applied a dormant oil spray, which is the preferred treatment for this problem. We ended up applying dormant oil ourselves several times. The bush is still alive, but never looked good this year. We will see if it comes back next year. We also tried to contract with them to do an aeration treatment for our yard this summer. We called them but never could get our call returned. We also had a disagreement with them about whether we had paid in advance for a mole cricket treatment. In early 2012, I received a mailing from them offering a 10% discount for prepayment of the entire 2012 lawn service plan. Their proposed service plan included several fertilization and herbicide treatments as well as a lime treatment, but no mole cricket application. I called them and asked if I could add this to the plan. They gave me a revised price which included one mole cricket treatment, and I paid by credit card for the entire year, including the mole cricket treatment. I asked to have the mole cricket treatment done in late spring. In July, the mole cricket treatment still had not been done. When I called about the treatment, they told me I had not paid for any mole cricket treatment. I showed the documentation to the technician the next time he came to the house, and he did the treatment. He told me that they were converting to a new computer system and their recordkeeping was not very good. We have contracted with SpringGreen for lawn and shrub service for 2013 and have terminated our contract with Trugreen. The price from SpringGreen was about 65% of what we paid in 2012 to Trugreen, and it includes three mole cricket treatments instead of just one. We will see how they do, and we will write a review on them next year.

Very well, teck seemed to know what he was doing, and did it in a timely manner. Isigned up for a years contract.

We are having monthly treatments done by Scotts and have been happy with the service so far.

Absolutely terrible. I think they just sprayed our yard with water. The grass never got greener, and weeds remained throughout the service contract. All of my neighbors had greener lawns and fewer weeds than we had. When we called them to complain, they always had excuses like; you're cutting your grass too short, you're not cutting your lawn often enough, you're not watering enough, you need to give it more time... etc. etc. etc. We had an automatic sprinkler system and watered our lawn well, we adjusted our mower and followed their instructions, nothing help. I swear it seemed that their service did absolutely nothing to make our lawn look good or control our weeds.
