Quick response to my needs. On previous visits, when he had to physically work on my computer and he installed a remote application which worked great! Had me back up and running in no time at a very reasonable rate!
Description of Work: I have used him several times. This time, he did a remote repair.

Bill is knowledgeable, diligent, honest, and easy to work with. Since that positive experience, we have had him work remotely on two laptops to correct an email problem that others have failed to solve. He is truly great at what he does either in person or remotely. We highly recommend PC Graphix to solve whatever computer problems you may have.
Description of Work: We had an emergency situation. During the first week of a programming course we were taking, the computer crashed. We found Bill on Angie's list. We chose him because he had, by far, the greatest track record and would respond to an SOS 24/7. We brought our computer to him. He worked around the clock to find the problem, helped us locate the parts to fix it, and then fixed the computer with a quick turnaround time.

While attempting a foolish repair I got hot glue into a port in my laptop which sealed the power button inside and got onto the motherboard. The computer wouldn't turn on. He honestly told me he probably couldn't fix it up front, but I begged him to try. We agreed on a price, and he stuck to it. After spending some hours taking it apart and scraping away glue, the computer still wouldn't start. I asked about taking data off the hard drive and we agreed on a set price. Because my computer had advanced security protection, it ended up taking him several hours to offload my hard-drive. He complains sometimes in a brash Yankee way, but he sticks to the price he quotes and the times he quotes. Also, he's quite friendly and professional. I was impressed that he did what it took to get the work done and didn't charge extra over the agreed on price.
Description of Work: Attempted to fix (against his advice) a computer which had gotten hot glue on the motherboard and on/off switch. Next he transferred the data from the computer's hard drive to another computer.

I am somewhat of a techy-wannabe, so I was thrilled at Bill's explanations of what was wrong and what he did to repair it. His expertise and professionalism is wonderful. I highly recommend Bill for all your computer needs.
Description of Work: I forgot my password to log into Windows 8 and could not remember answers to enough of the ridiculous security questions Microsoft demands to know before sending you a link to reset the password. Bill was able to break through all that, rid my computer of the malware/adware/viruses on it in less than 48 hours! I was amazed at his speed, courtesy and professionalism.

I needed someone to set up my dad's new computer. Bill went out the same day I called and got my dad up and running on the new computer, as well as addressing some issues he was having with his old computer. He worked around the problem of forgotten pass codes. He provided great service and I would definitely recommend him!

Bill was amazing, on our 1st contact he remoted in (using an Internet based program that allows him to control your computer from his office), but after his observation that my computer was running very slow, he chose to make a service call the next day. During that on site service call, he arrived on time and connected the HP 5000 Printer, a very good printer but since it was so old, HP had hidden the print drivers deep in their website (I had tried to find them and had been unsuccessful). During the service call he observed why I was experiencing slow performance, insufficient RAM, portions of my hard drive had been compressed, memory sucking bloatware had accumulated over time, little used programs could be uninstalled, data files if deleted or removed to an external hard drive could free up many gigabytes of memory and spyware was evident. He also recommended I purchase Click Free, a backup utility. He started the decompression of my hard drive and said he would remote in to do more work when I said I was ready. I removed some of the bloatware myself, transferred the data files to an external hard drive and ordered more RAM and called him in 2 days. That Friday he remoted in and did what I had given up on (and apparently many like me around the world) to connect my Goldmine Contact Relationship Management software, the backbone of how I conduct my business, to gmail. This task was not easy, he tried many approaches, using the advice of others, and his own wits, but finally connectivity was achieved. I was above happiness. During this time he ran Malwarebytes and identified what he said was a record number of spyware files. My computer was running as I had never remembered it ever running in recent history. Perseverance to solve even the most difficult problems, does what he says at the time he says, proactive curiosity to improve the customer experience with their technology, displayed technical skills, communicating at a level appropriate for his customer, friendliness and very reasonable pricing all describe Bill Phillips.
Description of Work: Initial Request to PC Graphix: 1. Connect laptop to a legacy HP 5000 Printer, manufactured 1999 2. Connect gmail business account into my legacy Goldmine 6.7 Contact Relationship Management Software What Bill Phillips did: 1. Connected my laptop to the HP 5000 Printer, the print drivers were deeply hidden on the HP website 2, Connected my gmail business account into my Goldmine Software, not easy as the software did not natively support gmail 3. Removed bloatware from the laptop, to speed up performance 4. Ran Malwarebytes to identify nearly 2,000 spyware files, to speed up performance 5. Identified that I needed more RAM, to speed up performance, which I ordered and installed 6. Identified files that could be moved to an external hard drive, to speed up performance 7. Identified that portions of the hard drive had been compressed, slowing performance 8. Consulted on his preferred backup hardware/software,

Bill was able to remove all traces of the malware. Bill said that I had done the right thing by calling him as soon as the malware appeared. He said that if I had restarted my computer (which is exactly what the malware programmers want you to do), then the malware would have been much more difficult to remove.
Description of Work: I had clicked a link in a google search that lead to a malware program being downloaded to my computer. The malware immediately popped up on the screen in the form of a false report that I was infected and it prompted me to buy a license. I then immediately called PC Graphix for advice on what to do. Bill (owner and operator of PC Graphix) remoted into my computer and neutralized the malware attack. Then he ran virus/malware removal tools to completely remove all traces of the malware.
