They came out and gave an estimate quickly. I am not upset because they could not get to it in a timely manner due to all the rain. They have done an excellent job and explained the whole process, were patient with me when I asked questions, and very professional. It is really nice to be able to trust workers on your property. They did a very professional job. Thank you

I needed a roof removed from atop my patio area. I called several contractors and demolition people for estimates. I waited more than 10 months for quotes; many local contractors did not have the courtesy to show up at the appointment times for the estimates. The first actual estimate I got was for almost 3x what Janson ended up charging me. Another was in line with Janson's quote, but that contractor never returned to do the work once I gave my "ok." I will very likely hire Janson Construction to do future work; words cannot express how happy I am with the outcome, it was an extremely pleasant experience! Everything was completed on time, the entire area was cleaned up as needed. They were quite pleasant and professional and did not overcharge.
Description of Work: I needed a roof removed from my patio area, which was connected to my house.
The leak was not fixed by this company. Before the job started, and before I gave them the go-ahead to start, the owner stated that he stands behind the quality of his work. However, after learning that the roof continued to leak in the same locations as they did prior to the work performed by this compnay, I contacted the owner about it. He stated that he would come back out and look at the roof again to try to determine where it was leaking. However, he never came back out. It has been over 6 weeks now since the work was originally performed. I have called them several times, and none of my calls (i.e. voicemails) have been returned. The quality of the work that actually was performed may or may not be good (no photos were taken of the repair work -- yet photos were taken before the work was started), but I paid them to fix my leak, and the leak was not fixed. I did happen to recently meet another contractor who performs work for a friend of mine, and this person stated that the 1500.00 that I paid for this work was way too high -- it should have been done for about one-fifth of the cost I paid! In summary, Janson Construction stated that they stand behind their work, yet they did not fix my problem, they over charged me, and they have not responded to any of my follow up calls. I would not recommend this company to anybody. The manner in which they handled this issue was extremely poor, and I am very dissatisfied. Spending 1500.00 and not getting results has created a very difficult financial situation for me.
Description of Work: I hired this company to fix a chronic leak in the roof of a four-unit apartment building in downtown Augusta, GA that I own and manage myself. Due to urgent demands on my time resulting from issues at other rental properties I own, I was in a hurry to get this leak fixed and did not perform the due diligence in researching reputable roofing companies. The roof of this apartment building is very steep and requires at least a 25 foot ladder to access. This company did do a decent job of diagnosing my roof issues and even took pictures. Among finding various minor issues with my roof, this company determined that the source of my problem was a situation where a valley funneled down to a chimney, creating a "lake", which is no longer code (this is a very old building). The primary repair was to construct a "cricket" on the back side of this chimney to divert water away from this "lake". They also installed a cap on the chimney (which is no longer in service), replaced approximately 12 shingles in other areas of the roof, and re-flashed the chimney. The cost was 1500.00, and these repairs were conducted in a single day.

Response from Janson Construction
I would like to respond to the member's comments. First of all I must say it easy to sit somewhere else and say someone over charges for something, but given the EXTREME steepness and location of this particular leak I believed and still believe the price for this repair was fair. If the customer thought it was to high he had ample time and opportunity to use someone else, we schedule this job 2 weeks in advance. Secondly we did respond to his phone calls and went back to his job. After receiving the call that the chimney was still leaking we went back the next day to try and determine what could be the problem. Upon further investigation we determined that a small problem was missed so we resolved the issue. Having not heard anything else from the member we assumed that the problem was resolved, apparently it was not to his satisfaction...this is the first I have heard of it and we will do everything in our power to try and resolve any issues regarding this job.
