+ -1 moreHave used him four times, first three times went well with good quality work, but he is very difficult to pin down on times and he often underestimates times, has to come back, forgets to call you back. The last time we had a long talk about what was expected and when he would do it, but he came on a different day when no one was home and set his crew out working then left. They DID NOT do the job as we had discussed and caused damage in the process. Left equipment in my yard and disappeared without finishing cleanup. called Jim to have him come by because there was damage and I was not satisfied, but he did not come. Came by a month later to get paid and retrieve his equipment. I asked for a 13% discount to compensate for the damage and irritation of a poor job for a repeat customer but he got angry and only offered a minimal discount that didn’t even cover repair parts for damage. I paid him but will never use him again. He also yelled at me as he was leaving, apparently angry that I had asked for a price reduction, and has obvious anger management issues. Be warned.

+ -1 moreHe gave me the estimate because he was cutting down trees in my neighbors yard. I asked him to give me an estimate. No charge for the estimate. Reason I'd give him a "B", my neighbor had to call him back a few times to come back and grind some stumps out. He paid in advance and they did it eventually but he had to make a few phone calls. I would have them give me another estimate. I will call them when I'm ready to get it done, to make sure the estimate still stands.

+ -1 moreJim's crew trespassed on our property, which I have pictures to prove. They did not obtain permission to put their trailer on the property and were there for hours cutting a tree next to out guest's car. When asked about the cracks on the driveway Jim made slanderous racial slurs at the neighbors and made inappropriate gestures at myself and my baby. Absolutely racist and unprofessional, also illegal. Trespassing complaint was filed with the police against this company. They also have an F and have been revoked by the Better Business Bureau. Please do not use this business for their unprofessionalism and racism.

+ -1 moreThey requested an $800 deposit, I'm not paying until everything is finished. They came 2 1/2 hours later than they said they would. They didn't finish in one day so had to come back. They put a hole in my roof and broke a water line. I think the workers are very good but the boss was obnoxious. When they broke my water line for the sprinkler system they had covered the cut off with debris so I couldn't turn the water off right away. The boss said he'd go and pick up what we need to fix that, we live just a few miles from a Lowe's and Home Depot, he returned in 2 1/2 hours and it was after dark. His employees were just standing around outside waiting. All they did was stop the water from going through the broken line and did not fix it so I can run water through it. The hole in my roof is still not fixed and is covered by tarp, the blue tarp looks horrible.
Description of Work: They took out three trees and a couple of limbs from other trees.

+ -1 moreIt was late in the afternoon when he came over to do it, so they were only there for 45 mins before it got dark, so I didn't see the work they did until the next day. He didn't even do half of the job. I called him on the phone and said that the yard was supposed to be completely clean but it absolutely wasn't, he said that because of "wildlife" he wouldn't want to clean parts of the yard. I said that was unacceptable so he said he would come back in 4-5 days. Two weeks went by and he still hadn't showed up, he said, "well I never said WHEN I would show up." I asked for half a refund since he did half the work, and he curtly said that he doesn't do refunds.
Description of Work: They said they would clean the yard from front to back.

+ -1 moreThis gentleman was very nice and came out to give us an estimate on 16 trees that needed to be removed from the front and back yards. The estimated price was 2600.00 without stump removal. He kept recommending that we did not need removal of the stumps nor did we need to remove one of the trees in the front yard. My husband asked him to come back and give us an estimate for stump removal. He said he would come back the next evening at 5 p.m. He never showed up but called at 6:30 p.m. to say he would be there the next day. The next day he never showed up. The following day he showed up and I asked him to call my husband, but he never did. He did not get the job and I would not recommend his business.

+ -1 moreThe guy was super sweet. He is really good. We worked out something with him because we had to pay deductible when we pay through insurance. He added the deductible to the payment or something where it didn't have to come out of our pocket. They had to protect the roof, remove the debris, and cut the trees up. They were very punctual. It all worked out in the end when they deposited our insurance and deposited the check into our a/c. We really didn't have to come out with anything out of pocket. He added the deductible to the cost. We took the deposit and paid it to the insurance. He was trying to help us out. He was awesome. If I have any more trees stuff, worked on or removed, then they are definitely on my list to call. He was very professional and very nice. He was on time. As a matter of fact, the crew came out in the middle of the night, kept the roofing and cut the tree down. It was already dark. They were here to make sure the roof is not damaged and it is taken care of. We called them in their emergency after hours number and they came within an hour of us calling them. I understand the reason they are expensive and it was worth the price of coming out. We had rain two days later. The tree didn't damage the roof, but damaged the edges. It just fell on the roof and we had some internal damage. They did a wonderful job patching the roof up.

+ -1 moreThey cut down the trees and left EVERYTHING! Every pine needle, pine cone, stumps and all 3 trees were left in my yard. I've had to pay another company about $800 to come and cut it up and take it to the environmental dump. Sam represented himself to my husband and myself as the owner, which he was not. I called the real owner and he said he'll make it right and get it cleaned up. I told him I would be happy to pay to have it done but i just wanted it gone. It's been 4 weeks since he told me he would clean it up and still no sign of them. I strongly would never recommend this company.
Description of Work: He cut down 3 huge pine trees that were about 150 feet tall.

Description of Work: Mr. Brinson was prompt to return our intial call and gave us an outstanding estimate. These guys took down 23 hardwood trees, hauled them away, cleaned up and removed the stumps in 2 days! And we couldn't have asked for a nicer group of guys to have been here and done the work. This is the 2nd time we have used JB Tree Services and will, without hesitation, use them again!! We highly recommend this company! Thank you again for a job very, very well done!

Description of Work: I had a large pine tree in my back yard that has been leaning towards my house for a few years. Called Jim Brinson (owner) and he responded that evening for a quote. Removed the tree on time, clean up was good. Also removed a large pile of limbs that I had done which he included in the cost. Very courteous and dependable. My neighbors were impressed also as he ended up working on 3 or 4 other projects within a stones throw of my house. I highly recommend Jim and his crew.

+ -1 moreJB Tree Service did an excellent job for a great price. They arrived almost a week earlier than originally told (following a call to us to make sure that was alright), ended up taking down 3 trees instead of 2 and hauled away all the debris. On top of that they cut down 2 additional dead trees - with the understanding the trees would just be felled and not hauled off - at no additional charge. Very professional, excellent work, great clean up for a great price.
Description of Work: We called JB Tree Service to come give us an estimate to cut down a very large dead oak tree and a large pine tree as well. Owner, Jim Brinson, came out and gave us estimate of $1200 for taking down both trees, hauling off the debris and also taking other debris from trees (branches) that we'd already stacked in our yard. He was to come out the week of April 25th, but was able to come out almost a whole week earlier (much to our relief). He and his crew cut down the large dead oak tree and the pine tree and did a very thorough clean up job of all debris that came off the trees and landed in our yard. They were very professional and polite, did a very good job for an excellent price. They did hit one small snag when a branch from the pine tree got hung up in the tree. While trying to shake the limb loose (they did have it tied off) the wind picked up and between their effort and the winds unexpected assistance the pine limb landed "point" first into our deck putting a small hole in one board and slightly damaging another board. Mr. Brinson made it clear he would pay for the damage to our deck without even being asked. Part of the trunk of the large oak tree, due to the way it was leaning fell on and crushed a very small pink dogwood we had planted. When mentioned he also offered without hesitation to replace the pink dogwood. While he was cutting down the pine tree he noticed another tree in our yard that had died and offered to cut it down and haul it off as well for a small additional amount. The crew actually got out garden rakes and raked our back yard! He and his crew also cut down 2 dead trees on our property, but on the other side of the fenced in part of our yard, for no additional cost (1 of those 2 trees I hadn't even seen, they saw it and cut it down). The dead trees not in our fenced yard were left (it's a swampy area and we intend to do nothing with it, so leaving the trees there was not a problem for us). Mr. Brinson was very personable and professional and he and his crew did an absolutely wonderful job.
