I found Rob Fagan via one of his ads on Craigslist. I called and he came to my home to look at the work I wanted done which included laminate countertops in the kitchen and two bathrooms. He took measurements and asked me to decide on materials. My wife and I looked at many samples and decided on samples. We called him over, he took more measurements and quoted a price. We agreed to the price ($750,00), He asked for a deposit of $350.00 to cover the cost of materials. He promised he could get the materials and do the work in two weeks. I gave him a check for $350. The next day he called me and complained of serious, temporary financial problems and asked me to pay him an additional $200 to help him out of a hole. He said he would deduct $50 from the total, final bill in return. I wrote him a check for $200 which he picked up, so annotated the receipt he had given me and reaffirmed his promise of two weeks. That's the last time I ever saw him. Over the next several weeks I called him multiple times. When he did answer, or return my calls, it was a continuing stream of excuses, promises, and delays followed by more excuses, promises, and delays. Finally, he agreed to refund my money saying he would bring me a refund check no later than April 24, 2015. I haven't seen him since and he no longer answers my calls, nor returns them. My best suggestion is to avoid him like the plague. s a

After taking my money Fagan did nothing. I had to get another contractor to do the job after waiting on Fagan for 6 weeks to start on the job. I was without a kitchen the whole time. I called Fagan numerous times and he would tell me lies of how he was working on my cabinets. He never even started them. He promised on numerous occasions to repay me my money but he never has.
Description of Work: Rob Fagan did nothing. He showed up, priced the job, ask for a down payment of$2600.00 of which I gave him. Then he never returned. I had to get another contractor to come in to do the job.

Rob Fagan showed up on 6/25/13 took my $2600.00 and promised to have my cabinets complete with in 3 to 4 weeks however he did nothing. He never came back he never started on my cabinets. I had no kitchen all summer long. No stove no sink nothing I was forced to eat out everyday all summer long was cost me an additional expense. It was not until 7/30/13 that he finally answered my phone call and admitted he had started nothing. At that time I had to contact another company to come in and put my kitchen back together. My cabinets were finally completed on 8/14/13 by another company. Over the course of this time Rob Fagan has promised to pay me my money back but he never does. I gave him $2600.00 in cash on 6/25/13 and as of today 8/25/13 I have not received one cent back from him. I had a signed contract with him he was listed as a member of the BBB and I thought he was licensed and bonded. I have since found out he is not licensed with the State of South Carolina nor is he bonded. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. He also, told them he would pay me by 8/12/13 but, he did not and it is in their records. He put me in a real bad position and in my opinion he is a thief being that he still has not returned my money. I would discourage anyone from doing business with him.
Description of Work: Rob Fagan was contracted to do my cabinets on 6/25/13 I paid him $2600.00 and he never came back. It is now 8/25/13 he has promised to pay me back my money but, he never does. I had to hire another company to do my cabinets. I am now having to sue Rob Fagan for my money. He did NOTHING but take my money.

Our kitchen cabinet refacing was a complete nightmare. It took over 4 months to complete. Our kitchen supplies were boxed for 4 months!!!! Imagine having to deal with that. Rob Fagan is so disorganized and has an excuse for everything. He is now working for Home Depot as their kitchen cabinet /counter top installer. Beware if you go through them you may experience the same ordeal that we did..my wife and I highly suggest staying away from Fagan Cabinetry and Refacing..

Rob, "the contractor" presented himself in initially in a manner that truly does NOT resprsent his character or his workmanship that followed.. My wife and I have been living in boxes for three months during the kitchen cabinet refacing ordeal.. Rob continued to have excuse after excuse for not completing the job in four weeks as promised. If you are looking towards cabinet refacing we would suggest doing it yourself before contacting Rob Fagan Cabinets.

Response from Fagan Cabinetry & Cabinet Refacing
the cabinets them selves were in fact refaced in a timely matter. It was the countertops that were the problem. They decided to go with an under mount sink in the laminate tops after the fact which automatically adds 2 weeks to the time of getting the tops. For some reason it took longer to get the tops than usual. And, the bar top was lost in the shuffle at the manufacturer and was delayed even more. The reason they have been "living in boxes" is because I offered to give them soft close drawer slides which is an expensive upgrade for FREE because of the problems with the tops. So the stuff that was in boxes was stuff that would normally be in drawers. I did receive the bar top and have tried calling to reset the appointment to install it but [member name removed] won't return my call. My "excuses" was based on what I was being told when the top would be delivered. I will gladly install the tops, glass in door and slides when he calls and we can set an appointment.

It was kind of a bad experience it took them 4 months to complete this job. They did not keep us informed on how long the process would be. Errors were made with the electrical system. It would not have been so bad if they would have communicated with us more. We will not be using them in the future

Description of Work: Our kitchen cabinets were refaced with some reworking of exsisting cabinets and new counter tops were installed in Jan. 2005 by Fagans Cabinetry and Resurfacing for approx $9,000. By Oct. 2010, 9 cabinet doors showed signs of deterioration - the lamination on 9 of 22 resurfaced cabinet doors had separated from the door surface forming large bubbles. I made several phone calls to Rob Fagan and he said he would come by to assess the problem. Mr. Fagan did not come. After numerous phone calls he finally answered the messages I'd left and he stated that his wife was ill and he would address our problem after Christmas. I waited until after Christmas and called Mr. Fagan again and he said he would be by Jan 11th, 2011 - he did not come. I called him again on the 18th and he was sick and could not come. On Feb. 3rd I called again and left a message - no response. My husband called Mr. Fagan on Feb. 15th and was told that it sounded like the cabinet doors would require "rewrapping". Finally, after my husband called Mr. Fagan 2 times on Feb 25th 2011, Mr. Fagan did come and picked up the doors. At this time Mr. Fagan told us that the company that had "resurfaced" our cabinets had had a fire that had damaged the resurfacing equiptment and that was why our cabinets were "not holding up". After that statement I requested that all our 22 doors be rewrapped as they might start to deteriorate also. Mr. Fagan declined to do that. He took the 9 doors and we waited from 2-25-11 until April 8th to get the 9 rewrapped doors reinstalled !!!!!!Now to 7-2012 ---- 8 more doors are showing the same problem - the laminate is coming apart from the door. I called Mr. Fagan 7-25-12 and he said he would be by the next day, 7-26 2012, between 5 and 5:30 PM. He did not show up and has not returned any of our phone calls. Now we are left with an inferior product and not sure where we can go to remedy this problem. The quality of the product and the service we have received is VERY POOR and INFERIOR!!!I would recommend that if one must choose to reface their cabinets to reconsider and spend a little more to get new cabinets or have their exsiting cabinets refinished or not choose Fagan Cabinetry and Resurfacing.

His name is Rob Fagan. We talked to several of his references and then chose him to do the work. He provided a quality job but he was a little disorganized. We had several cabinet doors and they went out to pick them up and didn't get all of them so he had to go back. Some of them were the wrong size. You need to be careful and have a careful contract and verify things. The quality and workmanship were very good. My wife handled the pricing.
Description of Work: We used Fagan Cabinetry & Cabinet Refacing to do cabinet refacing and he installed some new cabinets.
