Dennis' Lawn Care

I needed someone to mow and care for my yard. I had lost my regular person and it was difficult mid-summer to find someone. I called Dennis' Lawn Care, had no trouble getting a return call despite it being the busy season. They quoted a very reasonable price. The first appointment 3 - 4 men showed up with a variety of machinery. They did a fantastic job of cutting grass, bushes, edging, etc. The price was the same as I was paying for just OK work before this. So far, they've been here as scheduled to maintain the look of the property. I'm very pleased.

Called for Estimate and was asked to text my name and address to their cell number. Two days later I received a text stating they "just received" my text and would be out shortly to give estimate. ( I needed more than just my lawn mowed, I was looking for landscaping to be done) I responded to the text and they said they were finishing a job and would then come directly to my house. After waiting for 4 and a half hours I sent them a text telling them not to bother to come, they had already wasted my entire morning and I would not wait any longer. If they would have giving me a time or at least a time frame (within an hour or so), I could have adjusted my schedule accordingly.

I called and left a message. The call was promptly returned with an estimated time to arrive and get an estimate for the work. One hour after he said he would arrive, I called back and left another message asking if he could give me a new estimated time of arrival. It is now 2 hours after that call, and still no response.

good service, really pleased

Today was the first time Dennis and crew worked on my yard. He was going to work on it last week, but because of the rain, he ran later than planned, but he kept me informed. That is excellent customer service. He is very personable and knowledgeable. We met in person last week and he told me everything he wanted to do in my yard, and why, and he followed through on that. Some of it will be in stages, but I trust implicitly that it will be done, and done well. He and his crew are very professional and efficient. He introduced me to his crew today, which I thought was very considerate. I am so glad I joined Angie's List and found Dennis and company!

First let me say I am quite satisfied with the service provided. The only 2 negative things I have to report are: 1. They were supposed to come out on a Thurs and didn't show up, didn't call.. When I contacted Dennis about it Thurs night and told him I needed the yard mowed in time for a BBQ Fri evening, he rearranged his schedule for Fri to make sure they got to my yard in time. He informed me that they didn't show up Thurs because of an auto accident. The 1 day delay was no problem for me, but I do wish I had been contacted when they realized they wouldn't make it out. 2. They were supposed to spray some weed treatment stuff on the outside of my fenced backyard. Dennis said it should kill everything back there but it hasn't really done anything.. I still have vines and other broad leaf weeds coming over the fence. I'm actually not 100% sure if they sprayed or not (I was not at home when they came), since they may have had to rush to finish the job by Fri. Either way, the price for just the mowing was competitive in this area so this was not a problem for me. Update 7/30/13: Dennis did contact me about coming to respray, said they are using a different product now that is more effective. We havent set up a time for them to come retreat yet, but I will post here after they do about how it worked. It does make sense to me that all the rain we were having would make the initial treatment less effective, hopefully now that it has dried out a bit and isn't raining every day, the next treatment will work! I very much appreciate the offer to come treat the area again at no charge.

He came (very late in the day), but did not tell me how much until finished. He promised to set timers for watering, but did not return. Finally (after many telephone calls) he arrived about three weeks later, and wanted to set, but I said no. He said, "You expect me to drop everything, and coming running?" Ii said "Sorry for the misunderstanding."

He does a great job.

Dennis' Lawn Care is very prompt and thorough. Whatever he says he'll do he does quite well.
