Benjamin Franklin Plumbing

Plumbing, Water Heaters, Drain Cleaning,

About us

In 1985 John and Stella Owens created Owens Plumbing Company as a start up company serving the CSRA with John operating the service truck and Stella in the office. With a philosophy of customer service first, quality products a must, the company grew quickly. Owens Plumbing established itself as a Premier plumbing service and repair company over the next 10 years. For 5 years Owens Plumbing was a member of Contractors 2000 a professional business trade organization; Mr. Owens learned to implement many new systems into the company, designed to improve the delivery of superior service and greater customer satisfaction. In 1999 Owens Plumbing joined Clockwork Home Services, a national training company. Here Mr. Owens graduated from many classes including Accounting, Marketing, Sales, Management, professional Plumbers levels 1 and 2. In 2006 he purchased a Benjamin Franklin Franchise, dedicated to on time appointments and superior guarantees. Using the same owners, managers, and great employees from Owens Plumbing Company, he has now made a full conversion to the Benjamin Franklin Plumbing systems. We are proud to be in the top 25 plumbing companies in the Benjamin Franklin Organization. When the next plumbing emergency needs professional attention, give us a chance to prove that great employees, quality products and superior guarantees lead to a more than satisfied client.

Work went fine. If you on a budget go elsewhere. $800 for a toilet and install with senior discount is highway robbery. Never again. Do not recommend.

Said seep only visible when you very roughly pull faucet around, and probly would not be different with new gasket. Toilets had only expected minimal play, and over-tightening bolts could crack mounts. What honesty! He is writing up assessment on invoice for my closing.

It went very well. The guys also gave us a bid on helping us with our Septic line to the house, including digging it up. Awesome job. They cleaned up very nicely too. We will be using them to finish our bathroom to connect the sink/toilet and shower. The price included septic and roughin with a military discount of 10%.

It was fixed, but the guy sent to our house told us there should have been access to the toilet provided - such as a door cut into the wall drywall to access - said it should have been done at the time house was built. We found out later that that used to be done when dealing with copper pipes, but that was 60 - 70 years ago - now the plastic-type piping is much more reliable and access doors don't have to be cut into, and mar, bedroom walls.

First, the lady that scheduled the plumbing appointment was pleasant, informative, and called several times to let us know when to expect the technician even though they were right on time. She also carefully explained their pricing and set up an appointment for the following day. Jamie the plumber arrived as scheduled. He successfully completed troubleshooting on a wildly nonstandard system. Jamie was pleasant, positive, knowledgable, and took it all in stride, even though the scope turned out to be several times what he was expecting. He solved the mystery, and fixed it. Wore shoe covers whenever he went into the house. Went to great lengths to ensure there were no bad surprises on price. I'll call them again for all future plumbing needs. It's great to find help like this when you need help. I couldn't thank him enough.
Description of Work: Water pressure was low. County personnel said the regulator needed to be replaced and to call a plumber. The plumber checked the pressure then replaced the regulator. Checked the pressure at the house and it was still low. He traced piping in the basement, above the suspended ceiling, dug outside the house to locate the line and searched for a second, unexpected and unneeded regulator.

I turned to this company back when it was "Owens Plumbing" after having nightmarish experiences with other companies (see my review for Southern Plumbing). Since then, they have done numerous small and big jobs for me, all fairiy priced, and all done well. It is nice to not have to have them come back to redo or fix anything. You can trust them. Their repairs last. Pleasant people, very clean, and fast.

We discovered the broken line on a Saturday morning. To stop the leaking water, we had to turn off the water to the whole house, so we did not want to wait until Monday to have this repaired. We were told the repairman could arrive in about two hours, and he was there promptly. After looking at the problem, the repairman said that he could repair the problem by digging down, cutting the line and installing a new faucet. We have a 100-year-old house and that supply line was quite old. He said that he couldn't guarantee that it wouldn't split more when he worked on it. We asked him to do the work. It was finished quickly and cleaned up well. We haven't had any further problems.

Our showers and toilets were backing up due to a clog in our pipes. Our home didn't have a release or tap near the house, only at the curb. As a result, the clog backed up and leaked water in the house itself. I called several plumbers Monday morning and none were available until I got ahold of Benjamin Franklin Plumbers. The dispatcher told me that they would be available at 11 a.m. and my window was 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. At 10:45 a.m. I received a call that they were en route. At 11 a.m. they were in my driveway. They quickly evaluated what was going on and gave me two options to fix the problem. The first was a less expensive but less permanent option. It would fix my current problem, but would not prevent it from happening again. This solution was to clean out the clog as best possible with existing hardware and setup, but would not prevent the same problem happening again. The other solution would include them installing a new tap closer to the house that would prevent the problem from backing up again, as well as fully unclogging and fixing the current problem. The house I live in is a rental, so they were patient and flexible while I called the landlord to discuss the problem. The landlord opted for the permanent fix. As soon as I approved it they began work. They were very polite and respectful of my residence and communicated clearly the entire time they were working what they were doing. At one point they even had to leave to get a specific part needed to complete the job, but kept me informed every step of the way as far as time spent while they were gone. In the end they completed the job as quickly as it seemed possible and we haven't had any problems since. The extra tap close to the house now guarantees the same problem won't crop up again. Bottom line is that it cost exactly what they said it would and took place to the minute within the time frame promised. They offered multiple options based on my needs and situation and were efficient with the work. What else can you ask for?
